I'm a 14 year old girl and I'm working on a comic with a fairly complicated story based on somewhat science fiction?? I've been working on it for a year now and I want to start a blog on my process, not like, talking about story beats and spoilers, just the concepts, how I write characters, how to write People of color or LGBT themes (coming from an LGBT POC), how I write settings and plotlines, art tips, aesthetics, etc. I want to gain enough traction to have enough of a following to get more commissions and publish my comic, so whenever I'm living on my own I can earn money from my comic and commissions on the side, while I work in the industry want to work in (for now it's game design but that might change since I'm literally just a freshman in high school right now). Despite me being fairly young, I like to think I have enough knowledge to start out the advice stuff on a steady foot, but more than enough that I don't know to where people who follow my blog can also learn with me.
My wife needs to blog. She loves to talk and my ear is always bleeding. Hahaha She would be good at this. Just need to get her motivated about it. Some extra income would be nice.
The confusing part is how to begin. Do I first find a hosting site and then build my site, or build a site and then link it to a hosting site, or is there a one stop shop?

I am passionate about topics like social justice, human rights violations (human trafficking, genocide, indigenous populations, etc.), environmental issues, animal rights, policy, and corruption, etc. But I don’t know if or how a blog on these topics would work. I've heard that making money would be difficult because readers would see it as a sell-out, which I understand. I think this comes down to personality. I don't prewrite my videos so I can talk them out faster than I can sit down and write a blog.

I"ve heard that wordpress.com is totally different than wordpress.org. I was encouraged to start on wordpress.org.
