Overnight Solo Camp in a Canvas Tent - Bushcraft, Axe Work & Campfire
Вставка
- Опубліковано 16 вер 2024
- I head out into the woods alone with my backpack, a small canvas poncho tent, knife, axe and a few other camping items. I setup camp in a clearing and get a fire going to cook up some food and enjoy a night in the wild. I use Bushcraft Skills to get the fire going.

Scrambled O Happy Thanksgiving!
Lookat the flavour boy hmmmm turkey
Scrambled O love it
Hahaha scrambled o checking in !
You got a Scrambled O loogadat boi from TA Outdoors!!
Being a camper myself, you know you have it together when you make it look so simple. Great job
Watching these vids before going camping is great! They get me so hyped to leave in the wilderness!
I love the way you travel. Сompletely and completely independent
I love those theatrical clips that you made in the morning! I also love the guitar music in those clips! I'd like to see more of those in your future videos! I'm a leader of my Boy Scout troop, and I am showing your videos ALL OF THE TIME here in the US! You really give us great ideas! Keep up the good work!
Zac Sawdey thanks Zac, glad you like them, say hi to the scouts for me
Huge fan of you and your father! Looking forward to doing this with my daughter. Thanks for the videos.
I researched a load of bags & ordered one yesterday & now I'm sickened because the one in this video is perfect for my needs. That's the best ruck sack I've come across in that size.
you're such a good teacher. I love how you explain and demonstrate everything you do......even how you unhook your tent from your backpack. Amateurs like me, appreciate that
Hey bub, just a suggestion to save time and wood, you can get a good thermos, add boiling water and oats/rice/lentils etc and let sit while you sleep, it will be cooked and hot in the morning. Hope to get myself a lavvu this weekend.
I always enjoy your videos with you and your father. Thank you so much for sharing
U said u appreciate the people that sticked till the end of the video . Well mate all of us did :) and im excited for that project with ur dad too
Cute that bushcraft etiquette dictates making your ridge pole but not the stakes. 😉 That really is the best backpack design!
Love seeing all your new fun gear.....the tent and back pack. I always enjoy seeing you make a fire and use all kinds of tricks with sticks to suspend your cooking pots. Excited to hear you are doing some more videos with Dad. Love you both.
I’m a14 year old and I have played us football and rugby for 5 years and the same thing happens to me with my legs I’m in the us and love your videos more bushcraft camp updates please
Really loved that one... Looking forward to the rest. Father and son is something i missed out with with my dad but made up for it with my son... keep them coming.
This the best put together out video I have ever seen. Well done. You go to the top of my must watch list. Sorry Joe lol. Live this channel👍👍👍
I love your videos mate they have inspired me to come out my comfort zone an explore more outdoors I love camping hiking survival bushcradt an that s mainly thanks to you I also live in the UK so there's not that many places for me to go but I still love the outdoors
Hello Mike. Thanks for this nice video. Cool backpack, special tent, great equipment ... but you do not have a Swiss Army Knife! Please let me know if you need one ... i am at the source :-D
Greets from Switzerland

After many years of hiking long distances (mostly alone) in the wilderness areas of Northern Europe with a full pack, I understand the feeling you get in your knees as I also experience the very same when sweeping away leaves with my feet. I now tend to use a forked stick to accomplish the task. I really enjoy your channel by the way and I truly appreciate the hard work and time you put into making them. Thanks......Paul from Ireland.
I am from Germany and I love your videos !
Awesome! Love that poncho tent!
As always, a great experience outdoors with you.
The campsite did look cozy!
love that set up ,a lot like what I use when I wild camp with my family ,own 3 feuerhands myself ,they give a beautiful warm glow
Newly purchased all accessories..looking very fresh..new
Great film, reminds of when we were kids and we'd go in the woods and cook food over a fire using stones round the out side, sometimes we'd stay over night,
Wonderful trip
Yeah man, that bag's a winner right there!
Well done Sir. Now that Winter has arrived in the southern United States, a lot of us will be breaking out the US Army half shelters. Too many snakes, ticks, spiders and mosquitoes in the Spring and Summer.... hammock with bug net for me! Enjoyed your vid a lot!!!
I love the Polish theme of this video :D Polish lavu, Wisport backpack... :D I use Wisport Sparrow 30 II. It's so great. I use it mostly as university backpack for laptop, books, notebooks, etc. But when summer's here I use the same backpack for 3-4 day mountain hikes.
Nice one mate!
Hope you sent a nappy with that brew Haze! he put himself right to bed after it haha
I think I've watched this video about 5 times or more! I love my 1976 Polish Lavvu, but living in London, I am very limited to where I can wild camp.
Thanks for the info I've been looking for that Lavvu
I had to get a lavu too after seeing all u guys on UA-cam with them, I even got a stove, buutttttt I didn't have a spark arrestor lol and burned my lavu down lol. ok I got another one,, now I have a spark arrester 👍🏻
Hate to laugh but too funny hope your alright
Joe Antonicci I’m fine. I also sprayed a gallon of water mixed with borax and boric acid in this lavu. That makes it more fire retardant
Thank you so much for spending so much time on your videos! I know they are a lot of work. I enjoy them emenceley! Love the small canvas tent and your bag. I've seen several set ups, this truly seems best. I share the same relationship with my father, it's nice to see from the other side of the " pond " as well. Thanks again so much fellow woodsman.
Man,you make me so happy,my heart is so happy when we loking on your videos!
I love your videos you have inspired me to do bushcrafting
That saw is a beast
Congrats on the silver button!
Thanks Curt
Nice vid! About the porridge, I used to have burning and sticking problems but then realised that the liquid can be brought to heat then add the porridge off the heat to cook. By the time it's cooled to eating temperature it's done!
Those look like some awesome pouches
this axe is so cool
I see quite a few crafter videos and these are VERY IMPORTANT SKILLS folks may want to make themselves familiar with. I’m trying. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Nice and cosy video. Your narration is just great.
you have the best videos on youtube man
I love to see you and your dad doing multiple things, so very excited about that. This video was great, I like to see the way how you make things. It's not that hard at all, but only thanks to you for showing us how to do things. Keep up the wonderful job.
I like the way you explain what your doing at any given time. I would have to have a small chair or log to sit on. 🇺🇸😎
Loved the outtake, music, camp break down, and all...keep developing that cinematography ✌
The Polish Laavu Tent sweet.
Five squiderinies...love it!
"Looka Dat Oatey Goodness Boy", nice little shout out to Mr. scramble. Love the tent and the backpack. Keep up the great work!.
Nice, nice, nice ... nothing more to say! Greetings from Germany, Azze
Great video as always Mike, shame nothing was caught on the trail camera. Congratulations on earning the silver button. ATB, Paul.
Great lavvu ( did you know it's an Sami/Lampland tent model ) ? I love your videos :0)
Keep up the good work. Greetings fra Cimbrer Bushcraft in Denmark
Didn't know that! Thanks for the info!
One tool that you should try out on your AWESOME excursions, is the Wazoo Survival Gear* flint and steel necklace. I bought it for edc, and there have been multiple times when I have used it. The only draw back is that I have only got it to light twine easily. It's difficult to get it to light leaves. I don't know how it would work with your feather sticks. 😀
Very good video and love the polish lavvu set up, that’s a pitch perfect camp
You and your dad always have great entertaining vids that i learn tons from. Thanks much!
Congratulations on your New UA-cam Status! Awesome!
That is a really nice backpack
Good looking camp solid
Cool video!
Yay! more more more, i like how they have gotten longer!!!
Make sure you roll that "snow flap" down towards the contents, than close the top compartment if u want the best chance of waterproofing the pack as opposed to just stuffing the material down into the pack. Just a helpful tip, in the military we roll that part of the ruck sack which is on all US ruck sacks "large packs". Keep the vids coming bro
Great video, I still like canvas, have the light tent/ hammock gear, butt hers just something about canvas that makes you feel good, the lantern is a good idea, put inside the tent, leaving a flap open, takes the dampness out they can put off a lot of heat. Best from Maine
thats a awsome bag i love watching your vids. nice one.
Nice video TA. I'm glad you found a way to not put too much WATER in your PORRIDGE! HAHA!
Cracking video as always , watching these videos and the ta fishing show too make these winter nights pass a lot quicker, keep up the good work mike
Good to see you looking more yourself buddy. Good film.
Great outting, thanks for sharing
Thank you
Here's a tip, keep one half of a cut-in-half tennis ball in your bag to put on top of the centre stick so you don't have to keep rounding them off with your knife...
It's the back end of November everywhere, friend.
Nice camp! thumbs up from Sweden
Great video!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love it!!!
Very interesting indeed!!
Exciting..👍😆
I cant wait to see the project. I really liked you lantern that you have.
You are awesome!
Stumbled across your videos and i love them you really are living the life i want
Love your videos ❤
That is one bad ass tent. Very glad I found this channel and totally awesome fishing
I'm former usmc . That's a nice pack . Looks very well built . Excatly along the lines of what I'm after.
Hi, I use smokeless lamp oil in my hurricane lamp, I don't know how much difference there is but the oil lasts a pretty long time, They really make you feel relaxed, all the best mate.
Lol and that’s how will be known in the Bushcraft community, the lead litta lads 😂 lovely vid man, tent looked awesome
Hahaaa!! Good fun, haven't seen a video from your boys for a while?
TA Outdoors yeh Bow has been busy filling hunting tags and I have had a tone of work. Was also getting a little stale making videos so we decided a short break was in order. Going out this weekend so looking forward to that, test out my new rifle 😊
Great video Mike, really looking forward to the upcoming series with your Dad, though I love the solo stuff too. You make the wood processing and fire craft look so easy, even though I know it's not. Greetings from Kentucky!
Cool video big 👍up
Have you and Mr O ever done a video? Please do 1 if not please, it would be great. Thanks for sharing.
well done again on the 100 k subs
Military first is an excellent company. Slot of my gear comes from them. Two thumbs up.
Awesome 👍
Thanks for this nice video!....
Love your videos good work keep it up
I wonder if you can set up your laavu like a super shelter, with foil at the back, and clear plastic for the door. Once its up to temps, close the laavu up tight and sleep well.
Great!!!

Great video, just started watching your videos a couple of weeks ago. I know how hard and timely it takes to videotape your activity out in the woods. Once again, awesome work.
