    For a little more than one year ago I made a video about five things that I Don’t like with my BMW F750GS and in
    In this video I talk about what of those things that still are on my list and why I don’t like them.
    Don’t get me wrong I really love my bike I think its awesome, but every adenture bike is a compromise betwen offroad and road capability, comfort, price, durability weight and so on. The list could probably be much longer and very few if any one has succeeded to be really good at everyting. If the bike is really good at one point its a little worse at another point.

      Thanks for watching and commenting on the video. It might sound that I don’t like my bike, but I really do, it’s a great bike. But maybe not the bike best suited for those who are really in to off-road riding 👍

    Thank you for the thorough evaluation. It sounds to me that it would be worth spending additional money, even if I have to save money a little longer, to buy an F850GS in order to have the spoked wheel rims. You have a beautiful machine!

      Thanks for your comment🙏 I think it could be worth it, if riding more “off-road” But neither the 750 nor the 850 is enduro bikes. I’ve heard people complain over that even BMWs spoked wheels are “made of cheese” and the suspension is not the best in the segment. So you could buy the cheaper 750 and change to spoked wheels, 19” though not 21” or go for the 850 with 21” the 750 handles some lighter off-road, right now I’m riding on the Norwegian TET and I have riding some stretches of the Swedish TET. It’s gravel roads in different conditions but not off-road (enduro tracks). The KTM 790/890 or the Yamaha T700 is also worth considering if you riding harder off-road 🤔

    As long as you are happy and love the bike, its nothing to worry about. Btw regarding the new tiers, i guess you have to think about the angle to the ground in a curve so you dont get to high speed so it would drop in friction.... nice to see you are in the forest with the bike :D

    • @JoonesAdventuresMC

      They have pretty big blocks in them so it’s a lot of rubber to the ground. They are rated as 60% road and 40% off-road so they are quite good on tarmac On gravel roads you can definitely lose the grip but on tarmac they give more grip than what I dare to lean over 😂. On wet tarmac and on tarmac with gravel on it probably can be a little tricky. But that’s a problem for most tyres i guess and I have heard more complaining about the wet grip on Anakee 3 than the Mitas. But that can also be due to that people have lower expectations on the wet grip of the 60/40 tires than the 90/10 so it’s hard to say how they are compared to each other. But on rain it’s better to ride safe. When I took my license it rained almost every time I was at the school so when I did the undanmanöverprovet it rained. But on white lines and metal lids and things like that it’s slippery as 🙊. Among the worst is diesel that can be around fuel pump. that’s slipperier than ice. 🤔

    I just bought a new 2023 GS and really like it. I think it is a little noisy on the freeway driving in CA USA. I added a tall windshield and this really helps a lot on higher speed riding but below 50 mph didn’t really need it. I have a low suspension low seat, not ideal on my skinny butt. Braking is adequate I have not taken it off road yet since I am looking to change my tires. I do have a question for you. If you damage the rims can you replace them with a wired wheels and were to you get them? Thanks.

      Thank you so much for commenting and sharing experience about your bike, It is a great bike and I’m sure you will get a lot of great adventures on it. Actually I think it’s hard to find things that I don’t like with the bike. Off course You have to take it for what it is. It’s not an enduro bike and it’s not an sport bike. So you shouldn’t compare it with those types of bikes. It’s an road bike that also can handle gravel roads and lighter off-road. Even with the aluminium wheel I think. But I guess it’s better to ride with high pressure in the tyres, not “air down” on gravel and also ride slow and plan your riding and try to not hit the bigger rocks or pot holes. And if you’re damaging your wheels it’s possible to get wired wheels to the 750GS you can find on KKE racing.

      I know that it’s at least a couple of owners that have changed on their bikes. They cost a lot of money off course but I guess that a aluminium wheel from BMW cost a lot of money as well. For me it would cost maybe 400 USD to get them shipped and other type of extra costs like taxes and so on.

    been looking at some spoke wheels for mine, as occasionally I like to offroad the bike, not your average gravel roads, as I am banging it at the farm, with better front suspension and spoke wheels reckon it will sort it out, currently have the SW-Motech bash plate which is taking the brunt and protecting underneath, our dealership here is about to be mapping the ECU for the GS bikes from the smallest to largest, so will be getting similar to what the f850gs is on power after putting mine in for it.

      In the future I might upgrade to spoked wheels and some progressive suspension. Most of the week points can be compensated with good tire pressure and careful riding. But off course one can be unlucky to hit “that” pothole on the road even on a paved road. I rode it som stretch on the Norwegian TET earlier this summer, it’s off course mostly nice gravel roads and un technical riding. The concept “off-road” is a relatively wide concept. Some people include all type of gravel roads. In that case you could definitely ride it off road. But for me off road starts when you’re not able to drive a standard car without higher ground clearance and low gear. And to ride confident in that type of terrain better wheels and suspension can come in handy. A good bash plate and handle bar protection can be nice even on the un paved road 👍

      @@JoonesAdventuresMC in some cases, British paved roads could be classed as off road with the cracks and deep pot holes, many a bike has been smashed up over here because of them lol I am switching out my bridgestone adventures next year to some metzler karoos either the 3 or the 4, as I will be taking my f750gs on the techical course at the ABR festival.

    I agree with the side stand. It is ridiculous when you are in soft ground you have to find something everytime or the bike will sink.
    I hate how they designed the f750gs more of a "city-oriented" bike. Especially for cast wheels and tiny useless windshield.
    Seat concepts make good custom seats but I don't know if they sell overseas.
    Madstad I think is a good brand for windshield.
    I still like my 750gs as well I've already spent so much money on it to customize it to me hehe 🤣
    Although I will wait to change wheels because yes it is so expensive. 🤣

    • @JoonesAdventuresMC
      @JoonesAdventuresMC  2 роки тому +1

      One good thing though is that most of the equipment you bought for your 750 will fit if you change it to a 850 so it’s possible to change for a more off-road oriented bike without throwing all the money in the ocean. But of course one might want to buy a totally different bike when changing from the 750. And the difference in price between the 750 and 850 is probably the same or more than what the spooked wheel cost for the 750. And I’ve heard that the wheel for the 850 is on the softer side and the suspension is longer but not adjustable and to soft for most rider. So a 750 with spooked wheel and aftermarket suspension can be a good alternative for a shorter rider than the 850 👍

    • @TrackOurJourney
      @TrackOurJourney 2 роки тому +1

      @@JoonesAdventuresMC yeah kyle thinks the 850 has softer suspension than he would like. He realized he'd rather get a dirt bike fpr off-road than offroad the 850gsa so he got the fe350
      But Kyle's offroading is more aggressive for what the current f850gsa is set up for out of factory also.

    • @JoonesAdventuresMC
      @JoonesAdventuresMC  2 роки тому +1

      @@TrackOurJourneyNo none of 750/850 are enduro bikes, but they can all handle the gravel roads. But even gravel roads can have rocks that’s big as a “baby head” or deep pot holes so both the suspension and the rims can meets its destiny on a gravel road. The 750 would probably meets it destiny a little earlier than the 850 but not by very much.

      @MH-xd2nd 5 місяців тому

      @TrackOurJourney the F750GS was designed as a low seat height road bike for newer or less tall riders. The GS part of the name is just the 19” front wheel and a bit of design. It’s not and has never been an off-road bike - just look back to 2008 with the original twin cylinder F650GS. They can do a bit of light trail work, which is exactly what they’ve been designed for. And surprisingly the vast majority of ALL “adventure” bike riders never take their bike off-road. They’ve long since replaced touring bikes. There are plenty of more hardcore adventure bikes you can choose from - KTM and Yamaha - but they all come with a seat height that puts them out of reach for anyone below 5’10”. There are plenty of riders who get what the 750 is about. Buy another bike if you don’t like it. As for the 850, well it seems BMW has agreed with both you and @JoonesAdventuresMC and replaced it with a much more off-road capable 900.

      @JoonesAdventuresMC  2 роки тому

      Yes I think that the bike is really good for that type of riding that I do. Rarely harder than gravel road. Some of them can be pretty bumpy though but as the speed is moderate or low it’s no problem. If I change bike in the future it would probably not be because I need another bike for my riding it would probably be because it’s interesting to test different bikes.

    I'm thinking in buying this motorcycle due to the security pack. The 850gs is to high for me, I feel confortable with the 750gs, but I would like to ask you about the fuel consumption? It's about 4.1-4.5 like bmw claims or is higher? thanks in advance.

    • @JoonesAdventuresMC
      @JoonesAdventuresMC  2 роки тому

      Thanks for asking, I’m sure you will be really pleased with your bike. It’s important to feel comfortable on the bike. Even though the 850 is better suited for gravel road than 750, the 750 isn’t bad on gravel. And the 750 is better on paved roads than the 850 I guess even though the 850 isn’t bad on tarmac.
      the fuel consumption really depends on how you ride and what speed. Where I live most of the roads have a speed limit off 80km/h around (50mph) and as long as I ride the bike up to maybe 90km/h (55mph) the fuel consumption is around 3,8 my highest consumption in my longer trip last summer was 4,3 at that time I ride it around 110-120km/h with luggage (around 70mph and more). My lowest consumption at that trip was 3,3 also with luggage.
      My absolute lowest consumption was 3,1 so my experience is that the consumption is close to or lower than what BMW claims. I guess my average is around 3,8 or 3,9 but i’m doesn’t ride it very hard so it’s hard to say what your consumption will be. 😊

I actually have an F650 GS (the 800 cc parallel twin version). I am sticking with it despite its cast wheels - I don't plan to do aggressive off road riding, and replacement spoked wheels as you say are very expensive.
