I bought that exact frameset last year, and did a Dura Ace Di2 conversion on it. I chose it because I have modern bikes, and honestly, they're not that much better in terms of overall ride quality. The main reason I bought the Soloist Carbon is because these came with threaded bottom bracket shells that do not creak! My 2016 Cervelo S3 creaked like crazy on the BB because of the press fit bottom bracket, it took a new Hambini BB replacement to silence the creak. They don't make Cervelos like they used to, which is why I wanted one of these classics from 2006.
I agree with the quality degradation. I think when Vroomen/White sold Cervelo and corporate took over the build of Cervelos quality went down. I agree this bike can hang with just about anything today still. I’d love to see your build with Di2. You probably have the only Soloist in the world built like that. How cool! Thanks for your comment!
Had my Soloist Carbon Superlight since 2009 and still as sweet as ever. Well maintained and crash free running a full Campy Chorus 10sp. groupset. Just about to upgrade it to Ultegra mechanical as I've got another new machine with all the new disc brakes and electronics but want to keep this as authentic as I can.
Nice bike, I have a Giant defy, with 105 and ultegra 10 speed components. I stopped riding it, since I bought a fixed gear bike. Tried riding it few months ago, but wasn't impressed. Road bike needs more attention and things like brakes, derailleurs, cables, etc. On a fixed gear I only check tire pressure before going on a ride. Just my opinion.
Ninja Cyclist yes fixed gear is definitely less complex and easy to maintain. I like both styles of riding honestly. This Cervelo has served me well but I’m getting a new road bike this year stay tuned!
@@Juricell I love my Giant defy, never going to sell it. I replaced almost every part on it. Are you going to get one with electronic shifters? I had my road bike for 5 years, and have around 40000miles on it.
Most modern wheels give minimal clearance to the Cervelo frame. My Spin on These wheels I have on my bike has minimal clearance. Most would advise against using them. In a climb, my frame twists just enough to rub my wheels and has caused marks. I don’t know much about the Vuelta wheels so I don’t want to give improper information.
Wow your good! I’m right at 5’10”. It’s actually a 54cm. At my height I’m between sizes on many frame brands. I could be fine on a 56cm Cervélo but I’ve always been told when in between frame sizes, go with the smaller frame.
MarvinTV DaBikeDad I scored the FSA crankset on eBay brand new for $100. I had to swap out my bottom bracket to fit this particular crank so I could incorporate the Stages power meter which is incorporated into the left crank arm.
If you’re talking about the price of the bike you can find used ones for sale online from time to time around $1000 US complete. It is a decade old so they depreciate a good bit. Still an awesome bike!
Well... I have the same bike in that kind of condition! I take care of things like you do.

Very cool! I really think it’s still a great bike even by todays standards.
Just bought me a nice vintage one like yours. I needs some elbow grease but looking forward to riding it.
All the best! It’s still a great bike.
All the best! It’s still a great bike.
This bikes os as good as the current S5 disc.
I have both and the S5 is unspectacular in comparison and almost a kilo heavier too.
Still a great bike even by todays standards! Thanks for your comment.
I've just picked one up on ebay cheap as chips. I've always wanted one so really pleased! 🙂
Awesome! It’s a solid bike. Probably one Cervélos best offerings! Enjoy! I think you’ll love it!
How much?
still riding mine, daily
Awesome! Still a great bike!

Ninja Cyclist yes SRAM.
Hello . Can I install a Vuelta super lite wheels on a cervelo S2 frame?

I like it 😊, what is size of your bike? I believe you are about 5'.10" - 6'ft and bike size I believe it's medium 56cm. But still let me know.

I was about to comment and say that's a small frame for a big guy but yes you're absolutely right go smaller@@Juricell
How much is your new Crankset?
MarvinTV DaBikeDad I scored the FSA crankset on eBay brand new for $100. I had to swap out my bottom bracket to fit this particular crank so I could incorporate the Stages power meter which is incorporated into the left crank arm.
Juricell Bike we have rge same bike! but I don’t know what is the particular headset I’m going to buy.
MarvinTV DaBikeDad I never replaced my headset but I’d image there’s tons to choose from. You just have to get something that works for you.
can you fit 700x25 tire with your bike?
Yes that is the biggest tire I would recommend. Any bigger and you would have clearance issues.
front GP tire 23 or 25 mm?
25
@@Juricell thanks ! I will try 25 mm
Awesome!
How much is that?
