This kinda looks like a DIY version of the SuperSprouter unit I've seen, although that unit has a UV light tube. I have a question Angie, and i apologize if you've already answered it elsewhere. I know you've said that regular tap water from the kitchen sink is fine for hydroponic water, but have you ever tried the high end bottled water like Fiji Water? A fresh bottle of it? I was wondering if that would give hydroponically grown fruits & vegetables any advantage over regular tap water.
There are multiple options available for the tray in the Amazon link provided, but unfortunately, I wasn't careful and ended up purchasing trays without covers. Please be attentive and avoid making the same mistake as me.

Since I have not tried it I can’t say one way or the other. But natural nutrients a plant needs is usually filtered out of drinking water :)

Yes they can be. Just get a good brand seed :)
