God bless you for your videos. My spouse has M.S. and is paralized over 75% of his body and I need all the help I can get. I know most of the things you show us, but it never hurts to be reminded of the easiest and best way to do things. Thank you soooo much and godbless you.
I gave my first bed bath to a bed bound patient today. Thank you for all of this tips. I will be sure to use them next time. I feel like a did a good job but there’s some steps I will be adding to our routine.
Great tips and I'm sure the "no gloves" was simply an oversight. It takes a lot of time and energy to create a professional video. This was straight to the point and great. Thank you.
It was fake as hell. We need tutorials showing patients who CANNOT assist in the turning process, and who are unclothed and more importantly those who weigh 200+ pounds. Real life, not acting.
Thank you ladies this helped me to organize the process of the bed bath. I was a maniac the first time I gave my grandmother one. Water everywhere, soap in one eye, she kept getting cold…thank goodness we were both able to laugh during the whole thing.
All of these videos show fully clothed 'patients' who are able to assist themselves in turning. We need videos for bare skin turning and patients who are dead weight and unable to assist and importantly 200+ pounds.
I agree. though It is still a great thing they do. and we should all thank them and appreciate them. I know my spouse is 225 + and mostly nude most of the time. So please continue to inform us. and God bless!
Yes. As a retired nurse, you’re so correct. When you’re working with a person that’s dead weight and can’t assist with their care. Sometimes you might need an extra person to help with turning the patient.
I'm a caregiver for 7yrs.for me this video is a kind of a sample of how to do a sponging, i do bed bath for my bedridden patient totally bed bath not sponging, I'm just only say what is my way for bed bath but actually if u do bed bath must be hospital bed not a normal bed bcoz it's not easy between the caregiver and the patient.
Sometimes you have to adapt per client wishes. There are some differences that will happen in real life as opposed to what you see. What is helpful is these videos help you pass competency skills testing period as long as you are doing your best to prevent any infection all bed bathing is good bathing when it makes your client feel human again❤😂
Some useful tips. I am my mother's sole caregiver who is bed-ridden. So I give her baths twice a week. I follow pretty much the same method; other than when it comes to drying. That is my take away on this video - how to properly dry.
I've just begun the same care giving of my mother. It's only been two days and I wonder if I'm up to the task. The hardest part is the beginning of the cleaning process everyday when she's soiled with her own feces. The odor is sickening. How do you get this part over with as quickly as possible?
It's tough but im hopeful that you can get past it. Maybe you can wear a mask while doing these things that helps .... it's important to make sure your mom doesn't sense the disgust... it will create tension for both of you I'm sure she's already embarrassed to be in the situation..you will get quicker the more you have to do it and creating a plan of attack and having everything you need handy truly speeds up the process ...God bless you! I've been through this a few times with different family members... I watch videos periodically for more tips and hacks...you got this!
The patient will not get very clean if all you do is “pat, pat, pat” You dont want to be rough, but see how clean you get if you take a bath like this…you would not be happy, im sure
I look after to 200 pounds in bed, I just have 3 big bowl one for the hair body and bottom part, I bath her like I put her to the shower and her daughter can't believe I can do that to her mum lot of bed bath I see in this side is not right. Need more training
What about hair washing? My 86 year old aunt is in a hospital bed at home that has a head and footboard and I’m lost when it comes to washing her hair.
@@Brynwyn123 I know this is an old comment. But they have caps with beads in it turns into water and shampoo. You just put it on the patients head and massage to pop the bubbles to wash the hair . No rinsing required. Very easy for both parties .
@@youngnurse9994those shower caps are brilliant, but after a couple of months my mum’s head is becoming itchy and I’m wondering if that’s the reason. I feel like she still needs a proper rinse occasionally. But they ARE nifty.
Hi maam good day, tnx video un ur channel n im learn a lot. Question hope u can answerr me. Is there a change a paralize pateint can back to normal again. How many month or years would it takes. I therapy him 3 times a week. Hope u can reply tnx n God bless. From phillipines
Michelle Darville I usually don’t use gloves until I wash the private area. In the beginning of the video of they suggest to use gloves if you’re coming in to contact with blood or bodily fluid. :)
Good tips my dear am an experience care giver with 6year experience in Saudi Arabia correctly in Nigeria I feel happy taking care of elderly people and the sick. Am looking for an employer pls you can contact me for any vacancies
Awesome, Blessings to everyone if you haven't yet repented and accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord and savior please do so before it's too late it's not God's will for none to perish Acts 2vs38
Thank you. My mom is 95 and I’m 74 trying to take care of her. Bless you.
God bless you and your mother ❤
You can do it 🌸

Its A blessing when the right person comes in and do important things like this
Love this job helping elderly people to live independently as possible 🎉🎉🎉
God bless the caregivers💖

How nice to see a visual on how easy it really can be with caring for a bed bound person.
as a caregiver I change water for private areas.
So important......3 times
.
my instructor makes us change water for almost every area except arms/hands and legs/feet.
Smart
Expect we ain't allowed to wash their private they are supposed too
Yes it is very important too
Thank you! Patting the skin dry was something I hadn't thought of!
It's a must to prevent skin tears and the skin's integrity and cross contamination 😊

Yes I keep searching and searching to no avail!!!
My current situation. Client won’t assist in turning, so difficult
Use clean wash cloth and clean water for private areas
Your video is awesome 💯,CNA is such a difficult test but I'm never losing hope.
It is indeed a difficult test. I studied for months and couldn’t pass, I guess passing is a blessing.
CNA might seem so tough to pass but studying very hard is a very vital skill to win trust me.
@@katethompson4653 Everyone has their own way, Philip worked for me too and studying didn’t.
@@katethompson4653 I passed mine after studying so hard, I’m not discouraging anyone just wanna say do whatever you believe will help you pass.
I’ve heard some registered nurses talk about Mr Philip, he must be of a great help.
