I've been obsessively listening to this song for the past few weeks and I think I've worked out what the lyrics are. It's not easy to understand the singer, but the band re-recorded this song with another vocalist in the 1990s. That recording is easier to decipher but uses different lyrics to the ones on this recording. (Perhaps the band's later vocalist couldn't work out what was being sung on this recording either!) So, using the re-recording's lyrics as a baseline, I got a sense of what the song is about - it's basically a young British heavy metal band singing about living life on the road and chasing the rock 'n' roll dream. From there, repeated listens make me think I've more or less worked it out. It might not be 100% but I'm convinced I'm at the very least 90% there:

Lars Ulrich used to love to blast this while thumbing through his massive collection of Danish Hardcore magazines, that were too Hardcore for the US market. At least that is what David Mustaine has been quoted as saying. I just can't listen to this without that mental imagery
