  • Welcome to week 13! Wow, there was a ton of stuff to learn. It felt overwhelming for a bit but with a little extra studying, I was able to get the hang of everything.

I talked to an advisor at the SMU coding bootcamp yesterday. And it seemed like a really good program. She told me that they really help you out. With your cover letter, resume, linkedin profile, etc. Something that I don't see in a lot of other bootcamps. And she mentioned that at the end you get a certificate that is associated to SMU. She also told me that if I register before jan 11 that the tuition cost would be a thousand dollars less. Since the program starts in February. I am really happy. I am going to start learning javascript like you said so it can help me out. I'm glad I found your channel. It has given me a lot of insight in the bootcamp.

Jose, that's fantastic! Yeah, the career services are amazing! They have resume writers that normally charge $100 an hour but we get it for free. Good call on the javaScript. The more you learn the better off you'll be. The course starts with a couple weeks of HTML/CSS but the rest of the course is javascript based so I would really spend my time on that. Spend a day or two on HTML/CSS/Bootstrap..just enough to understand it. You'll get the rest once the class starts.

Hi, I am taking the same Coding Boot Camp as you, I am in wk 13 too!! For me this has been really really hard. But I love it!!! It is amazing how in 13 weeks we were able to deploy our first webpage.

Alma, great hearing from you! So, are you also at SMU or a different campus? How did you like Handlebars?

I really like that talk a little about what you are learning every week. Also I have a question, I have heard people talk about how sometimes people drop going to their boot camp, have you noticed if many people have dropped or is the majority of the people you started with still there?

Hi Tori! Thanks for the comment and question. We are not told if people drop from the course, but I can tell that the class is not as full as it was on day one. By now everyone who is showing up I imagine is going to make it to the end...it would be silly not to. I've learned that the key to learning development is coding every day and not quitting. You WILL be lost and confused at some point. Work hard to understand the content at those times and keep going. You don't have to master every aspect of this to be successful. You can always go back and study more.
