Think the biggest eye opener for me this podcast was Bio talking how he doesn't consider us losing anything until the wave is under our tower. Went through all my VODs and realised how much I afk in top bush waiting for minions to come in when I could be using that time to affect the map just that little bit. Crazy high value podcast for me guys thank you
Guys thanks so much for this! I would say this episode is up there with the 5 best. I learned so much and really got excited about playing top lane. It was amazing to have three challenger players look at my gameplay for half an hour. I'm super grateful for that, you're the best. Special thanks to Biopanther! Hope that Curtis and Nathan invite you back to the legendary BBC couch sometime in the future! Cheers, Daniel.
i absolutely love how curtis and nathan spend basically the entire time just asking questions. i dont even comment on this website ever but i had to let y'all know this is 10/10 content
Just hit Diamond for the first time with 70% win rate after playing the game for 4 years. Wanted to thank both of you, Nathan and Curtis, for all the valuable information you put out. Biopanthers advice on proper utilization of lull states and how to have an impact as a top have helped me tremendously as well! Trust the process everyone! Good luck with your climb if you're reading this far :)
This man is a savant! What a firehose of information and its crazy to realize that's only the tip of the iceberg in terms of all of the micro, macro and matchup knowledge he has stored in is head. Amazing stuff.
This content was literal gold. I was hovering around high-plat bouncing around with a slightly positive 50% win rate, but after watching this realized how unintentional I was during the laning phase. Just worked on being aware of the wave and jungler positioning, and having more of a game plan than only the immediate trade, was finally able to succeed in my promos!
Probably my favorite episode so far (and I do NOT play top lane). The way BioPanther talks about League itself is just so eye-opening, I'm really glad you guys invited him. I love the podcast, keep up the good work!
Thank you so much for getting into the details in Top Lane. Really appreciate how the concepts we always talk about were talked about in the top lane POV
This makes me excited to play top lane, this episode disproved all the negative narratives I had on the role and what I am capable of doing to win games.
4:45 Being ranked 1 and a fill, makes a lot of sense. Since if you're playing the fill spot and comfortable with it, then the other players in your team are more likely to end up playing their strongest role.
Foreal Curtis and Nathan content like this I'm sure will absolutely pop off on youtube. 3 ppl doing vod reviews is dope because everyone throws in their opinions and discusses what they would do in a situation. Super informative.
Or super exposing of how much better of a coach and player this guy is compared to them they are a joke compared to him and his knowledge. It’s so obvious they are not sure of any of the things coming out of their mouths while he speaks every word like it’s unbreakable concrete due to how much conviction and experience he has actually playing the game at high elo
Yo, as a jungler (+support secondary) this episode was extremely helpful. I don't even play top but this helped me a lot to understand the wider game. Funnily enough I was playing some random normal games, got into a Jax v Malphite matchup and I completely carried the game out of a very rough spot for me by everything discussed in the VODs.
I love this! i watched all the way through and brought alot of value on macro play as a toplaner. I would love to see this kind of discussion and review more in the future!
this is the best guide for top lane I've seen, and I've paid for some top lane patreons and skillcapped before. Great stuff as always, guys. As a Garen main, I'm just a little sad that there weren't any vods where the viewer played a scaling champ and had to concede pressure early. I would love to hear Bio's thoughts about it.
As a garen main, you are an early-midgame powerhouse that takes ignite and goes for kills early lmao, if you're playing garen as a passive scaling laner, you're missing the identity big time
@@kkdj20garen loses early to most champs. He can’t trade until he gets 1100 gold for berserker greaves or whip for phase rush proc. Hes a mid game champ that needs item powerspikes. You can also look up coach chippys guide for garen.
The thing about actually showing up to every single objective is gamechanging, immediately put it into action and while I didnt have a cs lead or really a level lead, I ended up hard stomping because it was just always 4v5 at drakes and heralds
Really great Episode and I love that you've started doing vods and talking about in game play! Really valuable. As an ADC I would really appreciate an equal indepth episode on the ADC role. Thanks for all the amazing content and keep it up 🙏.
This was really informative for me, as an ADC player, I realized that when I play Ezreal, I need to be impacting the map early, especially if I am stomping my lane. It makes no sense for me to stay bot. Thank you for reinforcing that idea with this video. I also loved the concept you guys taught me about knowing what your champs identity is. That helped me re-evaluate my play as well!
I love that you guys talk about riven at the end here. I found riven to be the most fun champ for me when I started league. Th melee, dashes, shield, execute. So much skill expression. Maybe not the best champ to learn the game with. But I'm more than happy to have done so ::)
Hey guys I don't know if you're aware but Tarzaned is doing a climb in korea and reached masters with a 70% win rate, I would like to know your opinion on this because he's the very antithesis of everything we discuss in this podcast. Would love to hear your opinion on this.
8:25 Biopanther said to have good flex picks if you are a Fill Main Some flexible champs I play for this very reason: Yorick (Top, Mid, Jungle) Kled (Top, Mid, Bot) Pantheon (Top, Mid, JG, Bot, Sup)
What do you think about early dragons? I heard that early dragons or just dragons, in general, is a bait for many players, where instead of dragon you can get more gold sides lanes or midlane and a lot of time people throw their lead by forcing dragon fights. Just wanted to hear your thoughts on it.
i was given a penalty for "verbal abuse" sure that's fine no problem there. then a few months later i was given another penalty for the exact same game. i submit a ticket to riot and their response was "From my review it seems that this warning was likely sent in error, so you, your honor, and your account should be perfectly fine!" except the fact that they didn't fix anything. yesterday i was banned from league for 3 days for literally nothing. im waiting for a response from the support team but its going to be the same situation. i have everything on file if you want to see it, and i dare you to say i'm broken by concept.
i like that he recommends Riven for noobs bcs he is finally one who aknowledges the champ has really low skill floor and is VERY easy and forgiving to play
Question for you guys... is it best to find the role you like and then the champ you like in that role or find the champ you like and play the role it is (especially if its a mono-role champ like Ornn)?
couldn't have come at a better time. i switched to jg not too long ago because i just felt so useless in top. it's mainly just adc meta rn and the only real way to influence that is to not play top
Riot August who has been working at riot almost since the beginning said on his stream many times that trinity force is objectively OP on Jax but people including pro players troll going for sunderer instead 49:14
Sunderer's spellblade proc is op and mythic passive suits Jax's hybrid damage very well. While winrate of Trinity is higher, low pickrate makes data less accurate.
I think we dont hear alot about those smaller decisions that over time are affecting the game, (befit a very powerful interaction I get your point) but its not talked about enough because it's but so hard to quantify. Those micro decisions. Waiting a second konger that dominoes over to slow up a team or objective, we could mever really know the true impact of it. Many sonedaybon the future when we all have netter access to AI a team ofnworlds plays after having their matches and feedback served to this AInover years it cold show us but that still feels assg off.
55:40 feels wrong to me, I would be terrified to group up as Jax after building botrk which gives no resistances and having no boots (not even t1) on the other side of the map. If anything goes wrong (and a lot can go wrong in a teamfight, especially if you're a squishy skirmisher and they have a point and click CC ability like Lissandra ulti), you lose 4+ waves, malphite is back in the game and your pressure and ability to snowball are gone. Obviously he's a pro player and I'm not, so I assume he is right, but instinctively this feels very wrong to me on a fundamental level.

I’m the jax vs kayle guy haha, didn’t think my vod would make it on the episode. Thanks for bring it on! This is eye-opening to me. Love the show ❤
I’m transitioning from Support to Top Lane, so your vod was a great opening mate!

As a toplaner I am so excited for this episode. I try to use your review and mental concepts but really hungry for top lane specifics.

Fantastic episode, really learned a lot here! As a top/adc player I really appreciated this one
Thank you for this. Was great to watch, really enjoyed it.
Bro I've been waiting for this sort of content, especially top lane hell yeah
I see that byopanter have a very good ability to calculate what is about to happen and can easily decide what the best option is to take.
Finally some love to the top lane :D definitely looking forward to this one being a top laner in master
