The powkiddy is using retroarch, when you can manually set it to start the game back where you left off and to save the video settings. It'll be just like the miyoo mini.
I bought a Miyoo Mini after your first video, and I absolutely love it! Such a fun and easy way to play retro games. My favorite part might be the classic Gameboy look. Just perfectly retro!
As pointed already you are able to save settings with retroarch. Even if I prefer the Miyoo too this review is pretty bad. You compare two systems. On one you flashed the custom FW and polished the configuration. On the other you did not even put enough effort to look in the menu (or web, whatever) to check if the issues you reported are easily solvable.
I think to keep the settings per console you have to set it as a Directory Override once you make your changes on your setttings, then once you launch any game that is from the same console generation it will automatically launch it at the correct settings. I believe overlays and shaders if saved under directory overrides will also be saved. there is a feature in Retroarch that you can enable to autolaunch last save state, and i believe there is a auto save state feature to that can be enabled. the two toggles should be under settings>saving within retroarch. Just make sure to save the config after enabling them under Main Menu>Configuration
You should toss that unreliable microSD, get a new one made by a trusted brand, flash Arkos and copy paste your own roms on it as the included roms are bad too. This way the RGB20S will work a lot better.
Idk weather my powkiddy is different but when I turn mines off it instantly goes back to the same game and still has all the progress.Also there is a way to save games on the powkiddy rgb20s

Oof that PowKiddy device needed some quality assurance testing. The N64 emulation was roughhhh. Regardless, it’s an amazing time to be a retro gamer, having options like this (even though not every device is created equal). Thanks for your brutal honesty on these consoles!
I just got the miyoo mini plus a few days ago.. and I think it's far superior than most other retro emulators. It's batteries is better than the RG35XX etc. Eventually I think you'll be able to get N64 games on it with another software update. Is your miyoo on onion os?
Iirc there is a custom os for 35xx that makes battery life last 20 hours on a single charge but can't remember which one 😅 think it has something to do with making the device use less power
I personally don’t like playing ds games on a 1 screen device. I always recommend getting an r4 card and just playing on an actual ds! That’s what I personally do to play ds games

Try holding reset for 3 sec. Also if you leave it aside for a couple of months, the battery will run down and it may work after that. That's been my experience. Also check the card, if the contacts look tarnished, clean it with a paper towel lightly dampened with rubbing alcohol.
As a mf who’s not into computer and all that other shit this is frustrating gotta go buy a laptop or computer do all this drag files download files is a pain in the ass now I know why people don’t bother with these devices!!! Just got mine NO MARIO GAMES NO POKÉMON GAMES instead they gave me a lot of Chinese Japanese games some of the other them are the same game just in different languages!GONNA RETURN MINE AND GET MY MONEY BACK TOOO MUCH HASSLE JUST TO PLAY SOME DAMMM VIDEO GAMES fuck powkiddy!!!!

The Miyoo Mini looks awesome. Way better than any of those that I reviewed a few years ago. Cool to see how far these emulation devices have come.

I just think miyoo need to bring out new shells. So everyone can customise their consoles even further.

For the rgb20s when u go to settings u need to save the settings of the screen in save configuration and turn on auto save

miyoo mini is so fucked to me because I wanna play more roms not ps1 and below im tired of that and the RG35XX plus and RG353V just gave me that.

i bought one off ebay the person gave me a fake tracking number it was brand new with a case for 82 cad waited 3 months never came so i got scammed :/
