What an excellent breakdown. I'm seriously impressed dude. Really hope others find your channel because you've got talent for this.
Great video! Honestly the most helpful SAP video I've found so far. Thank you!
I thank you for my first win. I been playing this game for the past 72 hrs and have not won a complete game until today. I thank you and my soul finally rest in peace.
haha congrats!
I got almost 200 hours in this game and I still found this very intuitive and helpful! Great video!
how do you know your hours of playtime?
1:57 Buffer
2:39 Scaler
3:49 Tempo
5:07 Traders and disrupters
5:59 Food
6:33 Combo parts
These are really simple and helpful!
Thanks for your videos!
i always appreciate how transparent and concise your guides are
Ohhh, tempo as in "temporary". Lol I was trying so hard to figure out what the units had to do with rhythm/music
Great guide!
the word actually comes from other card games like magic the gathering and hearthstone, and it does mean tempo in the same sense as in music. as in, temporal! relating to time.
because these units get powered up quickly, and are powerful BECAUSE you play them early, so they are called tempo units - for when you need a quick boost in power, or when you need to overwhelm your opponent quickly before they can develop properly.
This is great! I’d love to see your video about each archetype :)
This is the best guide I’ve seen by far!! You need more subs dude
Amazing vid bro this deserves way more attention, happy new year
This is a great guide thank you! i’m doing well but have trouble in the late game, hopefully this should help! Also your videos are underrated, i think you have some great content here, keep it up!
A little storry: After a 0 trophy loss I uninstalled the game (yeah, sometimes I behave like a kid lol). But then I tarted to search for some guides. After watching your guides I decided to reinstall SAP. My first game after reinstall was my first 10 trophy win, because I started utilise those archetypes! Your guides really helped me understand this game, and I'm not frustrated any more. Thank you
that's amazing!! congrats and glad it was helpful

Got my first win later in the day after watching this video. Thanks so much!!

Scorpion with a bow and arrow is my sleep paralysis demon.

**You have a 48/46 Leopard** : Anyways
i tried all day to get a win in arena, until this vid helped me and i finally won, thank you. btw, my winning deck was penguin+cheetah+dromedary+puppy+peacock
You are SO underrated
OMORI MUSIC = INSTANT LIKE
DOPE VIDEO 👏
Thank you 🙏
Thanks for the help! That increased my understanding of the game ten-fold, being confused about the special pets and what separated a tempo unit from a scaler. Although early game pets that you keep for some reason (good stats, you need it’s upgrades, or some other things) with early buffing become so powerful you DON’T want to sell them, leading to me believing there’s a 7th archetype called “Early Game Pets” that break the mold occasionally. My first Arena game was a win, with this build.
Level 2 Penguin (3/4) w/o Item: The main buffer on the team, simple enough, it scaled my Mosquito a lot. (Role: Buffer)
Level 2 Giraffe (21/24) w/o Item: I got a level 2 Otter on turn 3 that turned into a Giraffe. I kept it for the early game buffs, and i couldn’t find a Tiger or something to pair with my next unit…. (Role: Early Game Buffer that I kept for some reason)
Level 2 Snake (17/17) w/o Item: I think I got a level up on turn 9 (Maybe the Penguin or the last unit?) that turned into this. It was there to pair with my next unit because it’s good stats could trigger Snake many times (wish it’s ability triggered Snake though, that would be fun, but Snake is good enough). Also you may wonder why the first 3 units don’t have items. For the buffers, I couldn’t find a Steak or something which would have been useful. And for this… just wait. (ROLE: Support Unit/Special)
Level 2 Mosquito (44/44) with Garlic Armor: The main carry of this team. Without this I lose on turn 10 or something. I got a triple Mosquito start in the beginning which is how I ended up using it despite all the good scalers… and it’s the only one with an item that’s actually useless because of the next animal. It had good stats and I ended up buffing it and I thought breaking Melon Armor was useful, so I kept it.
Level 2 Turtle (18/19) w/o Item: Melon Armor! Yeah, that’s what this was for, surprise, surprise. (ROLE: Disruptor/Support Unit)
Honorable Mention: Otter. The only one I got to level 3, and it provided good stats early on.
How I got to 10 wins: After that triple Mosquito start, I think I lost turn 2 and either 3 or 4. The fact that the 2nd loss wasn’t on turn 5+ was crucial. I ended up getting a early Giraffe to buff my Mosquito and a Penguin to scale, it took time though, and I lost to 2 annoying Hedgehog Blowfish builds because I couldn’t scale fast enough to tank all the small hits. Remember what I said about the 2nd loss? I was on ONE heart. On Lethal with 5 wins. I got revenge on the Hedgehog Blowfish build, however (3 of those builds in 5 rounds?). The scaling kicked in, and my now technically Melon Armor (thanks Turtle) Mosquito swept through everybody, but the Giraffe did save me a few times (or turned a draw into a win). The Snake was useful to snipe units, but the Mosquito and buffers really carried. And then on the all for nothing game I got the easiest match in my life. My Mosquito didnt even die! Also I encountered a weird mechanic. When something kills an enemy unit, and then the Snake kills another, the animal the Snake killed actually dies first even though visually it dies second. Both were next to an Ox that buffed twice because of this (didn’t matter since my Snake sniped it 3 times to kill it), that’s why I knew this. All in all it was a 14 turn win.
Huh, with the snake killing something first, I wonder if the pet the snake killed had a higher attack stat than the other pet that died
@@daveprice5911 No.
It was a 8 attack sheep.
The other one was 13 attack fish
That OMORI soundtrack made me fall down a flight of stairs.
I'll send all my viewers looking for help here. Great stuff thanks :)
thanks!! appreciate it :)
very informative and intutivie
W Dark Souls reference
honestly you should separate the combo pieces and snipers
combo pieces being things that do well in specifically with other things
and snipers just being things that have abilities that do damage directly to the enemies
earned a sub
thank you
Too busy vibin to the Omori music to focus, guess I'll be trash forever
I thought this game would be just a phase. is cool seeing people explore its potential, its a really great game
Yeah please help i dont have enought health to set up a late game strat because i keep losing in the early game i dont have enought health to set up my strateagy i need early game help and no mater WHAT I TRY I ALLWAYS LOSE
based guide
thanks! hope it helps :)
damn
Most i have gotten so fare is 7 but now i should be able to win
I'd love a google doc for which pets are what cause my head has a hard time remembering T.T
And here i am, playing 3 buffer + 2 scalers :)
I get around 1 in 5 victories, still found i am very bad at the game
I really believe you missed one archetype. “Sniper” these are animals that can do damage to pets without a traditional ‘attack’. Lepoard, crocodile, vulture all fall in this category
What rounds are considered early game mid game and late game
i'd say rounds 1-4 is early, 5-10 is mid and 11 onwards is late game.
of course that's not a hard rule, just guidelines to help you think about the game in terms of 'how strong the average opponent will be'.
also how many round you expect to play is important, if you have 5 wins on round 11, you need to play very differently than if you had 9 wins. if you only need 1 more win you don't need any scaling, whereas if you need 5 more wins in the late game, you really need to find a late game carry, or fast buffing.
I still haven't won yet, LIKE I GET TO 9 AND A FRIGGIN HONEY BADGER OR A DOG ON 1 HP BEATS ME
where do you get the cute graphics at 1:18? i always see them around but can never figure out where people get them
look for irasutoya
@@BlueberryPieper thank you so much!
2:28 ever heard of self buffing monke? XDDDD
I can only get good animals like Rhinos or Deer when I have less than 3 hearts and by that point I’m already at the lose 3 hearts battles.
Got any good tips for getting the level 3 wins with units that dont benefit from leveling up or are hard to get to level 3, like the bees or zombie crickets.
Every faint unit except chick and bee is relatively easy imo. Badger, penguin, ox and a generously buffed tier 1 unit (preferably mosquito) helps. Running frontline badger and putting the weak unit behind it trades 2 for 1, leaving the mostly weak units for your ox and strong tier 1 to take out. Dodo, turtle and penguin is also good. Running Dodo behind the turtle at first and once the turtle is strong enough you can put the Dodo behind the faint unit. For bee specifically, put honey on ants/flamingoes and pill em in front of ox for some good value and just get them to level 2 for penguin scaling. Bonus tips, by 6 or 7 wins, you should have the level 2 faint unit and start rolling for chocolates; steak on the faint unit always works; cat is viable if you somehow don't have level 2 penguin+ already have the level 3 faint unit; strong units at the last or second last position to draw or lose to stall for more time to find chocolate; you could also capitalize on just getting as much early wins as possible by double scaling, that is by running 2 of either penguin, giraffe, monkey, swan, seal and rabbit. (Dragon and Cat comes too late for early wins)
Scaling all the way. Get the trash unit as fast as you can and start dumping stats into it, really work the shop to get all the stats. Otherwise build a normal team
ok so none of my friends agree with me but i still think its a good strategy.. or atleast an interesting strategy. what if you pill a deer when you get it. then you can use food to scale it up so you can have a Buffed Splash Unit WAY before chili peppers are in the shop. i feel like this is a good strategy, atleast early on. and then maybe if you get buffers in on the action you could possible have a good build
hmm yea i think that's a pretty fun strat, i think it's viable under some situations if you just want to get wacky with your build
I haven’t gotten one win bruh I hope this will help lol
Team name guide when?
I'm pretty sure I'm just bad at the game because I've watched like 10 of these types of videos from multiple different peoples channels and I still haven't made it past 5 out of 10 wins
the most dumbest thing i have done is replace the effect of scorpion
my win rate is 1 out of 100 games should i give up?
Would love to see some "Overexplained" videos
eu precisava de um vídeo desses em ptbr :(

:O
I still can't get any wins lol
lol 10 wins, getting 5/10 seems impossible. 120+ games, and I've reached 6/10 once or twice. There simply seems to be no time to actually build any remotely competent team before the 40/30 whatever hippos and dogs start appearing and wiping your team. I'm literally struggling to see how achieving any wins when you have no control over your pet rolls other than pure unrewarding rng.
don't give up! getting 10 wins consistently is definitely doable, like around 40%-50% of the time
whereas people do get insane RNG sometimes, as long as you don't get matched up against those insane teams 4 times in a row, winning games should still be doable.
try to maximize stats in the early game, focus on finding scaling in the mid game, and focus on trading in the late game.
focus on scaling and improving your team
Where whale?
I'd consider whales special combo units. they can work as piggybackers if you have something great to put them behind, but otherwise I'd only get a whale to enable some pretty specific team comp (deer, hedgehog etc.)
Well another game thats just unwinnable-looks fun but Meta kills anything that isnt perfect draws....
