  • This weekend we did a spoon and bowl making class up at the house and in the spirit of learning I made a new spoon from ASH! This spoon is the very first thing I cut on my new 1928 AMERICAN TOOL 36" bandsaw.
It cut like BUTTER! all torque no stalling at all!
The power is amazing to have right there a the blade!
... and because Bob & Genny made one too!

    Well done, brother.

Its just a beautiful spoon. It tells a lot about my heritage. The pioner from Norway had to make their own tools and spoons had been something that has gone from father to son, and lately to their daughters. Wish you all a great week. Best wishes from Jan

I really love the way the grain structure showed up in the finished spoon. I also like the method for getting the handle symmetrical. Simple but most wouldn’t have considered doing that. Always learn something. Thanks Jimmy. 🙏🏼

I made a spoon like that once, it turned out to be a paint stir stick when I was finished. If I had seen this video first it would have changed everything. Jimmy you never cease to educate, love all that you do. Just goes to show, no matter the project anything worth doing is worth doing right!! Please keep the videos coming, I need my fix!!!

Hey there Paison ! I'm a long time viewer and subscriber and I just wanna say that spoon reminds me of my Grandma when she was stirring her 'gravy ' for the homemade Gnocchi....and of course I remember her having to sample it with that bigass woodden spoon to make sure it tasted like it should,,,,hmm I do miss Gramms Josephine 's cooking ... thanks for the Memories Big Jim !
