Impressive result Tomas, well done:) Merili is no slouch and definitely a course suited to gravel bikes. Out of interest, what size chainring and tyres did you use?
Thanks! Its tricky to race in foreign country, as you barely know anyone - nor I did Merili (my bad!) But she indeed shown a lot of will to keep on moving and I could only try to respond with fascination! Tyres choice - 2.25 at front, Racing Ray, 2.2 Renegade at the rear - could have added a bit more air though. Chainring - based on the 1XX cadence @600w and 60km/h somewhere around 12:00 mark, can you guess what it could have been? :D
It was more like sorrow combined with desperation, but pain was involved too, hahaha! Indeed, the first time I did it, last year, during wet conditions somehow painted MORE MTB views in my memory!! :D
I think we need different race class for gravels. :/ Doesn't feel fair this kind of a difference. If e-bikes participating in own group why gravels doesn't have one?
I guess this is not gonna happen due to too many categories already. Also, that would require different start time to be fair. Nonetheless, its still doable to do it on MTB, just whether its fun or not - thats a different topic, haha!

@@scott8551 36 Oval! 😅🤘🏼
For first 15 minutes felt your pain :D But it seems that name for race must be changed, far from any kind of MTB
