  • Tom Wilson has been a long enthusiast of the 250 GTE. His dream of acquiring a Ferrari began in the year 2000 and it became a full restoration project. It is in the original spec and every nut and bolt had to be taken out to make everything exquisitely done. It shares the same V12 as the GTO which makes this essentially a 4 seater GTO. Tom also runs the GTE Registry which is a community of fellow owners and enthusiast.

Thanks everyone, the car is a blast to drive ! It is worth all the time and $$$ that went into the restoration. Not only that, but through the restoration process I learned a lot and made a number of good friends. Yes Mike, Ferrari and Pininfarina bought some parts off the shelf (note the Fiat cap on the brake fluid reservoir) and Georgia Grow Guy you might want to check the cost of a college education these days! Stillim - you may have seen the car at the FCA show in La Jolla before the concours (drove 320 miles that weekend) and at the Petersen a number of times. And if any of you happen to see a White on Red GTE on the streets of Southern California, come up and say hi!

Congratulations Tom on your own restoration, and saving a GTE from becoming yet another donor car! My Dad's best friend had a DB4 and a 250 GTE back in the day. The friend was sadly killed hill climbing a dune buggy with an insufficient roll bar. I am an early Lambo guy, but have always admired the early Ferraris. You also hit the nail on the head, as you are enjoying the car as it was meant to be enjoyed... and not just trailering it to a concours.

Love this car. Thanks for bringing this to us. I think Ford designers took some hints from this car and made the Mustang. I think it's the roof line and trunk line. Beautiful automobile

Wow, this is fantastic! The Ferrari 250 GTE is one of the most elegant and beautiful GT cars ever made in my opinion. It looks fantastic in white. One of my dream cars. The GTE.

Thanks for the video. I used to own a 1960 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint and I noticed that Ferrari raided the Alfa Romeo parts bins for many of the small items on these cars, like the door handles, trunk lock, and quarter window lever mechanisms.

Thank you for this fantastic video.
Truly, you own a fabulous Car, a Magic Car.
The 2+2 are really a must, as you mentioned.
I don't have the money to purchase a Ferrari in tip-top shape.
Neither do I have the capacity to buy a Car left in a barn for 20 years, bringing her back to Life.
However, I fully enjoy looking at you gorgeous Ferrari -- the same way we admire any nice and valuable Object of Art.
Leonardo, if alive today, would design a Car like yours -- and you are able to drive her around.
    Congratulations !
    Warm Regards,
    À.

place I used to work at had a gold '63 330 GT 2+2 in their collection with a little over 3200 miles. the car was just about showroom condition, ran and drove spectacularly. the fit and finish of the original interior was incredible, very beautiful car both in appearance and performance. I was very fortunate to have the opportunity to drive it. it lived on a massive ranch in Montana for the first part of its life, for a while. the owner would occasionally take it out on his property and bomb around the dirt roads. he never registered the car.

Thank you for sharing this video, Tom.
A friend of mine had a 250 GTE which he purchased in 1988. I travelled in it a few times... including to the UK Ferrari Owners Club Annual Concours meeting in 1989.
Where do all the years go?
I think the 250 GTE is a great looking car... and the sound of a Colombo V12 engine is truly special indeed.

Hi Tom Wilson, thank you for this great presentation. Also thank you for taking care of the 250 registry. You mentioned that it was not a race car.
However, the 250GTE was first introduced the public racing at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in June 1960.

@Josh how about you grow up and learn about how people work thier fingers to the bone to provide a level of wealth that they EARNED. im poor, i drive an f150 but certainly know that 99% of wealthy people are so much more charitable then people know because nobody hears about it. it doesnt perpetuate the poor me narrative. america has provided wealth to everybody no matter what race they are. why do you think everybody wants to come here. rich people dont tell everyone or make a grand annoucement that they are philanthropical because thats not what its about. all those governments that need help have wasted or stolen all the $ they should have went to thier people. i think you owe this gentleman an apology. you know nothing about him and what he has done.no disrespect but focus your anger toward those at fault and who deserve it. be well my friend. come from behind the screen, there are many ways you can help the needy. god bless

@@blarfneggs3728 Sorry, I was not implying that you were just blowing smoke.
I lost a couple of deals bcz they appeared to be too easy to get, just fell on my lap -- I was still wet behind the ears
      !
Ir so happened that deals sometimes are so easy, so fantastic -- and people may visualize them as an Eiffel Tower story.
      Such is Life!
A friend of mine, upon finishing his MBA, got a fabulous job offer.
Since he had 9 more offers , he allowed the dead-line to expire and spent July and August undergoing long, time-consuming interviews.
Unfortunately, he landed a job with a third-rate Corporation in the middle of nowhere.
The first offer was from a major, high-tec Corporation in the Boston area making a great deal of money.
And after a few years there, the Sky would be the limit.
In sum with my appologies for the misunderstanding, you missed Indeed a great opportunity
When things appear to be too easy, sometimes they truly are the chance of a Life-time.

Sadly soon all combustion cars and trucks including classics will be banned from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-(
In Germany the Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025
on by reducing all conventional fuel stations to only one state operated central gas station per city or county. Car washs will be forbidden too because they are climate killers, now they want to slow down all the gas station pumps from 20 litre per minute to 2 litre per minute...From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a new kind of crime here, called emissions and smoke crime.!!! (BABVVEN & TEBBVEN & BEFVO & HESCHLAVVO laws)!
