Hoglund Overland - 2015 TRD Off-Road
If you haven’t had the pleasure of meeting Ken Hoglund then we can only hope that this blog post does him justice. Ken is one of the nicest people you will ever meet. He has a love for his family and for recreational travel. We were lucky enough to spend some time in Ken’s home to get to know him better and to better understand his passion for photography and his Tacoma.
A 2015 TRD Off-Road
Ken drives a silver 2015 TRD Off-Road that is fully CBI Equipped. It sits on an Old Man Emu BP-51 suspension with all kinds of trickery in the rear to keep it from sagging under the weight of his CVT Mt. Rainier Summit Roof Top Tent and Leitner Designs Active Cargo System. Ken has built this Tacoma to be adventure-ready at the drop of a hat, and he typically demonstrates that readiness on his regular adventures around Northern Utah.
Ken has focused on some real nitty-gritty details on his build that are almost all performance related. He has recently regeared with Nitro Gears, he runs Falken Wildpeak AT3/Ws in a 285/70/75LT with a spare hanging of one of his dual swing arms. His interior boasts the Expedition Essentials TPAM with his phone and HAM radio mounted for navigation and communication. If you have the luxury of riding shotgun with him you’ll find that the ride is smooth and the tunes are bumping, because he runs upgraded speakers from our friends at OEM Audio Plus, if you haven’t heard these yet, you are really missing out.
As for other essentials, you will find a Prinsu rack up top loaded with his recovery gear. A full set of high quality LED lights from Heretic Studio which provide him full night vision and allow him to run rear mounted chase lights should he be leading a group through the silty trails of Utah’s West Desert.
