- Finally received my first topper...and I am in love. Wow, feels and looks better than I ever imagined. Can be worn up or down, wonderful swoops around the hairline and the colour is sooo natural and beautiful.
Can't recomment it enough.

What an absolutely wonderful tutorial. I am compelled to type a novel right now about my hair loss and how much it has affected almost every facet of my life. You don’t realize how much you identify through your hair until you lose it permanently. I had been throwing around the idea of wigs and hair pieces for the last four years but have always been too scared. Scared that I’d spend a bunch of money on a wig that looked ridiculous on me. Scared I’d be too self conscious to go out in public. Etc. I watched this video of yours and went directly to the website and purchased this very hair topper! Well, I ordered it in the color Malibu blonde. I am so extremely excited to get it now that I’ve watched your video. I can’t get over how great this piece looks on you! You always seem to be such a warm and kind soul and I felt like I was just sitting there hanging out with a friend. It also made me feel like I’m not alone. So thank you for making this video. I remember watching endless hours of videos and getting very excited about ordering some hair. But when I got in home I was very unsure about the whole thing, that's the great thing about toppers, they are only half wigs and you still get to enjoy your hair too - it just enhances what you've got. I feel very pleased you got so much out of this video. I'm about to post the top smart wavy one - wait till you see it...adorable. Studies have been done and it’s been proven that people tend to be nicer and respond better to perceived attractiveness. This topper does make a huge difference. Anyone who struggles with hair loss should be encouraged by such an affordable option that allows for a natural result. Thank you for talking so honestly about it and making yourself so vulnerable in sharing your before. Really there are younger girls struggling with this as well. The idea that you can pull your hair back and have it look nice is really exciting. Thank you for your review
Hi, thanks for your possible comment. It has been a game-changer for me and enriched my life so much, really makes all the difference to me. And toppers are so much more easy to use than a full wig. There’s not much to go wrong really. I have areal hair one that I love too. Just amazing x
Omgoodness! Yes! I just bought a cheap one off of Amazon for my daughter just to see if it was something she might be open to. It’s been really hard. She doesn’t want a wig. She wants her natural hair because she’s only 20. But this still allows her to have the most natural look with her natural hairline. The one we got has some issues with where it clips in, but we’re so happy we watched your video and decided to give it a try. We’re looking at purchasing a Raquel Welch topper with a lace front, better clip placement and heat resistance. She’s super excited!
You look absolutely lovely! That topper is so incredibly realistic…I don’t think anyone can quite understand how incredibly life changing it is when you either have naturally “bad hair”or have experienced loss. Until about three years ago I was REGULARLY told - even in my 50’s that my natural hair was beautiful…and looking back it was….now, after cancer and radiation followed by radical hysterectomy and suppression of ALL estrogen by way of drugs (I have estrogen dependent cancer) my hair is thin….dry ….sparse on top…with an odd rough texture to it. I have done as you an and watched and studied videos ….like yours…about toppers and wigs. I am anxiously awaiting my first topper (RW Top Billing 18” in Shaded iced pumpkin spice)…. I cannot WAIT to receive it and hope the color matches my own hair. Your video is incredibly uplifting and I want to thank you for sharing your story with us. Now I need to explore the TopSmart topper because it is stunning on you!

I must say, you imediately look 15 years younger! You look amazing! I have very thin hair but it is long. I add extensions everyday for my self confidence. It makes a huge difference to make my day happy. Anyway, you look amazing! It is worth it!!

What a wonderful way to put it... my entire look was being let down by just a lack of hair. That is precisely how I felt before trying toppers. Now even when I have my bio only I feel more confident because I know I have a way to bring my hair up to par with the rest of my look when I so feel.

Everything you said about how you feel when your hair is thinning is exactly how I’m feeling…my confidence has just about vanished in the last couple of years. This is the best thing I've ever bought, my hair turns frizzy in the summer and I can never have nice hair but this looks just like my own hair, no one has noticed, you look amazing, this really is worth every penny, I bought a second one as a backup. I work from home and don't style my hair everyday so if I need to pop out to the shops I can instantly have great hair.

I was so worried about wearing a fake looking wig but this really is the answer.
I started with toppers. It transformed my hair and my whole look! You look absolutely beautiful!!! And it's so EZ1. Love thie review. (I am now wearing full wigs only bc I wanted to go blonde and I am a dark brunette), but there are days when I wear my brunette topper. Good luck with it lasting a year - . I wore mine 5 days a week 9-5 and they lasted 4 months max. Yes, they have to be replaced often, but there is almost nothing else that will transform your looks this way. Every single thing you say in this video I agree with entirely. I am still amazed, even after wearing hair for 4 years now, when I see these transformations. It is inspirational. No, thin hair is not attractive. One topper? Boom, you're gorgeous! I wear Mila and Miranda (get Miranda styled to suit me). So I am into wigs now, but wow, those toppers also do the job! Great review! You are a natural! And you are inspiring others.
It's only a stigma if you feel apologetic or ashamed. It's fun and it's stylish and the women I work with love it and so do my friends. Attitude starts with confidence in you.

I am sold on the idea of owning at least one of these, because I have always had fine I thin hair,and haven't seen a wig that doesn't look like a wig, so I believe that Toppers are the way to go! You are gorgeous...I am a few years older than you and and everything you are saying I have been feeling. I found your review, I while watching videos just like you to aid in my first purchase of my first topper. Thank you for showing your beautiful brunette topper. I feel like most of the videos I've seen are blondes. My husband is so supportive and I do genuinely feel like he sees past how I actually look and just loves me no matter what. I put on my fist topper after doing my makeup and dressed to go out for dinner. He told me at least 50 times how pretty I looked and what a difference the hair makes.

This video is absolutely delightful! To answer your question, I found some helpful answers from a wonderful woman named Kim who owns luster hair. She has a UA-cam channel where she addresses the issue of how to deal with coming out about your hair topper or wig. I highly suggest watching her videos, but here are some of the basics. These were her suggestions....
1) it's your hair and it's your business. If you don't feel comfortable about talking about it you don't have to feel obligated to.
2) if someone notices that your hair is different and ask you a question like oh did you try a new haircut? Then you can just respond with a simple yeah do you like it? Basically turn it back around on them and just ask him how they feel about it. It kind of takes you off the hot seat.
3) when answering any questions about it, if you come off as if it's a sad or depressing or unfortunate situation then that's likely how they're going to respond to it as well but if you come off very positive and confident about it and say something like yeah I'm trying these new toppers I love them, the really fun I get to try a bunch of new styles and colors and it's great, they will likely reflect the same positivity about it!
At the end of the day if we want to stop the stigma about wearing helper hair, then we got to stop acting like it's a sad thing. The more open and positive we can be about it the better others will feel about it as well. It's such a common thing that women experience for all different reasons, and all different ages that there's no reason why it should be such a hidden and stigmatized thing. Thanks for sharing this very transparent video about your feelings about your new topper, I felt the same way when I put mine on for the first time. And that one looks absolutely natural and gorgeous on you!!! 🤍🤍🤍👍

I love your review. Yes people are so judgmental. I have gone through that all my life with my weight. You are treated totally different than everyone else. Unfortunately that is just how people are. sad. But on the positive side of things, you are absolutely beautiful, with or without the hair. Your happiness just radiated in your face the minute you put the topper on. I have been losing my hair for years now because of medication Ive been on. I am now 58 and with all of the hair loss, it has now become very frizzy also. (yay me!) I am going to order this particular piece, not only because it looks soooo absolutely beautiful on you, but because of the way your total personality changed the minute you put it on. I thoroughly enjoyed this, and you are absolutely right, that color is just beautiful on you! you are beautiful inside and out! Yes, I too had worrying hair loss after giving birth. At the time I was in my 20s and so embarrassed. I never knew about toppers then but probably would never have accepted them. Since then my hair has only gotten worse and over time I learned to love wearing all types of hair.. toppers have been amazing.. I do hope you find the right topper for you. Be sure to get a base big enough to give you the thickness and coverage you need, a bigger base is better than investing in one too small x keep me updated xx

I have the long Topper A5426 & I love it! Actually I have lots of hair but going on 64, yikes!😣 My hair is frizzy, been dyed many times & unmanageable. I'm only thinning out on the very front above my forehead. It just takes too long to style it only to frizz up again. I sweat a lot down here in Tx. I can't stand the heat & humidity. So I just clip in my Topper & blend in my own hair & twist into an updo with a large claw clip & I'm good to go!😃👍👍👍
I discovered toppers in 2018 and I absolutely love never having a bad hair day! And you are right about people assuming its all your own hair. I giggle to myself every time I receive a compliment, cause I never correct them. I simply smile and say thank you! Enjoyed your review. Because of you I am seriously considering a lace front. Oh how amazing. I am in awe and full of admiration for your approach. It takes steady nerves to just say thank you and it's something I am keen to try. Now about the lace front...it is good but if you try to glue it down all along the lace front it will buckle and you will get ridges in it. I now use a cm long piece of wig tape just off from the centre and it looks better that way. All the best xxx

watching this video is what helped me to see that my beautiful hair was out there I just needed to find the best option. .After doing my homework I found a hair piece that I absoluely adore. But I am having such a hard time keeping it up.. After waiting the piece for a few weeks it gets so tattered fuzzy. I love Jon Renau wig Drew in brownie final 4. I have tried everything. I take really good care of it -combing it out using just a bit of scyicon spray on the ends the defrizzing 3 by Jon Renau. I only wear it outside of my home and have been limiting my wear of it when I absolutely have to. I've tried using a straight iron on the fuzzy ends. and I've tried steaming it. I absolutely LOVE this piece right out of the box. it has a lovely soft body to it and the layering of the cut is gorgeous. So once I start ironing and trying keep it upbit it just is ruining it. I have literally bought a new wig every 3-4 weeks and now all of the brunette pieces are back ordered until April. I fell like I'm right where I started. If you have any advice I would really appreciated it...thank you Rebecca
Oh Rebecca, a new piece every month?! How expensive! Look, the synthetic fibres do dry out quicker than we would like them to. There are a couple of options; invest in a human hair wig/topper (I love the toppers) or buy Silicone Mix by a company called Avanti and give your wig a soak in it for a few hours. You get a plastic bag, put some of the mix over the fibres from the middle to the end but not in the knots or cap, place the wig’s fibres in the bag and a few hours later rinse the mix out. This will make the fibres soft and supple again, for a couple of weeks at which point you repeat the process. Let me know if this helps. Robyn, ever since I did this review, over a year ago now, I have been wearing her so often. I certainly got my money’s worth out of her and she’s still going! She cost me about £160 or so and has brought so much value. I really enjoy the confidence she gives. Do you wear hair??

How did you go with the feeling of wearing something on your head. Did it felt strange at first, did it take long to get used to.

I only have a little thining at the back of the crown at the moment hardly noticeable really.
I listened to a lady the other day on youtube and she said to think of a topper as just an accessory, just like when you wear lipstick , or blusher, just an accessory that's all. She said she had several hair pieces and she wears which ever one she feels like that day to go with her outfit.
Change your look up every day she said. There are no rules.

Of course it feels impossibly strange at first and terribly scary. But I so wanted the end result of thick lovely hair that I had to find a way to come to terms with wearing hair. I learnt that if I was comfortable then others were comfortable with it too, problem is that I’m not ALWAYS comfortable. I had to show this to my husband, the moment just before and right after you put it on. He was amazed! You are so well spoken and soft spoken. This was a wonderfully encouraging video. I'm so glad you feel the same. It's so weird when you first start wearing hair, I felt sure everyone could spot it a mile away. Now I wear toppers to work every day and go out to meet clients wearing my hair, and I don't think anyone notices!

@@lifeandhair well I have a few concerns,my bio hair is not straight and this topper is, I’m not used to hair this long my bio hair is about 14 inches. This topper is 18 “ long. And goes from just before my ears then back, this is my 5th topper but the first with the lace front which I love! But it tangles very easy and quickly like with in 10 mins. I’ve only used a paddle brush on it. I’m thinking it’s tangling easily because of the length. I’m planning on getting it cut the first wk of July. It is Human hair, my other toppers were Human Remy Hair and were 14 inches long.
My bio hair has a thicker texture
Well as you saw at the start of my video, I had to straighten my hair to try and match. There is still a difference but it looks ok. I really want to try some others though, there’s one called Curlable topper from Natural Image I’m interested in

You have me sold! You look gorgeous! I have fine textured straight hair that I used to have a lot of before PCOS took its toll. I am 60. I have dark brown hair and believe it or not, no gray hair yet. My mom is 88 and is mostly dark brown.

So, you sold me on the 18” Top Smart and now you’ve sold me on the Top Smart Wavy! Literally just ordered this one. I just want to thank you for putting these reviews and tutorials out here for us to watch. I was so afraid to buy hair pieces. I had absolutely no idea where to even begin and I felt so lost that I was always too afraid to actually click “place order”. I’m so pleased with the straight Smart Top and now I’m even more excited to get the wavy one!
Do you keep your wigs stored in the boxes they came in, or do you place them on wigs stands? Also, do you just wash them in the sink with a little gentle shampoo and then just lay them flat to dry?
I know exactly what you mean regarding ordering a topper, it took me months to figure out which one to go for - as you know they aren’t cheap and I didn’t want to waste my money. But that 18” wavy is really a fantasy piece, so beautiful. So now you get to enjoy the confidence they give you, and I’m so happy for you.
I wash them as little as possible with the Jon Renault shampoo, or a gentle hand wash liquid and hang them upside down to dry. They always come up quite nice that way. I tend to wash my hair if I’m planning on wearing a piece so as not to get it too dirty. Enjoy 🥰

Actually, there's no need to say anything at all on a video call. I must have missed something... Like a video call for your job maybe? I do know what you mean, it does feel awkward when meeting up with friends, or other couples. I totally feel the same way. There's a couple of ladies at church who wear wigs too. When we see a new wig on each other we'll say, "oh I love your hair"!👀🤣 I'll bet you'd have another version of a younger look with a Topper with Bangs! I use mine in an updo. My topper has bangs. Well, the glue I used made the lace pucker so I called Simply Wigs and they advised using wig tape. I don't put it all long the lace but just off to one side so it is not seen. It works well
I actually did straighten my hair yesterday and it made quite a difference. So Thank you so much for the tip, I’m wearing a hair grip and it holds it down pretty nice, so I only clip the 3 clips in the back. I watched another one of your videos where you went out with your husband on Easter day and it inspired me to get out of the house and walk around amongst people so I’m really starting To get used to the long hair and I’m really Starting to get attached to her LOL🥰

I know natural hair look great but I prefer synthetic
Natural hair lasts longer but takes more work to keep in it's original style
I love the topsmart but have my eye on the new JR Top Coverage wavy (but it's quite expensive)

One hair loss goes past a certain point you simply cannot disguise it any more. I reached that point in 2021 and have been wearing hair consistently since then. Many people have forgotten what my actual hair looks like. I tend not to wear hair if I’m gardening or at work, but any other time I’m in it…and I really enjoy it. Do you wear hair Stephanie?

I've been growing my silver hair out, and so conceal most of it at certain times, by using darker hair on the top with just some silver sticking out the front. Makes me look years younger, but I keep that mostly for stage! At home and with friends, I prefer my long silver hair, with a few extensions added that I made myself.
These wigs, especially the ones you are showing, look very realistic, but I only use human hair, as it doesn't wear out at all. No-one can see the additions within my hair either. As you've said, thinner hair does make us lose our confidence, we don't look as healthy either and we don't look as young!
I would like to share with you an addition I made, (so you can share it with the ladies here) using 80% silver and 10% black hair in wefts turned into a thick ponytail, with a black scarf sewn into the top, on a horizontal clip, that can be added anywhere I need it on the head, depending on what I'm doing with the rest of my hair. It's such a QUICK hair-do!

Hi i have the exact same topper, the same shade and all. You look absolutely incredible with it, I can't seem to work it. The front lace looks very unnatural and i can't place it in a way that it will not show. The premateese at the top back is a bit bulging. Its my first ever helped hair and i really wish i could wear it. Not sure what to do
Hi there, I know what you mean about the front lace. I bought wig tape to adhere the lace to my forehead and found the secret was to use a small piece just at the front and leave the rest loose. It’s not ideal but it does look natural enough. And when the the fringe is loose it kind of covers the rest of the lace. I’m sure if you experiment with the tape it might work, it’s such a shame to waste the topper and not wear it. I wear it regularly and kind of ok

I'm still wearing this topper, although the fibres are dry I just apply some heat to them and they soften up a little. I wear her on sunny days as I' don't want my real hair topper colour to fade in the sun xx
I have thick hair everywhere but my hairline and the sides of my head (losing hair due to PCOS). There is nothing for the sides of my head but a wig which I don't need for my entire head. It's very frustrating! I have a Jon Renau fringe topper but it does not blend with my bio hair (texture and color), so when I wear it, I can only wear it up with the sides a little lose.
Mmmm, have you thought of trying a 3/4 wig? I wonder if that would work x

I have a similar one with human hair, I can get it to last about 10 months before they lose hair and have split ends. What's your experience with the longevity of the synthetic? Even if I bought it twice in a year, it's still more affordable than the HH!
What brand human hair topper do you have? I recently got a uniwigs topper called Aida in human hair so I don’t know how long she will last yet. This one has lasted over a year so far but has started looking a bit dry and clumpy. I wish there was a good restorer on the market to make them like new again, don’t you?!
@@lifeandhair Jon Renau. And same, I used Olaplex 3 on mine yesterday, washed with L'Oréal sulfate free shampoo, then put 8 min miracle water, and finally a little L'Oréal deep consitioner. It definitely came out smooth and soft, but the damage is still done. I do use heat on it unfortunately because it's kinky and unstyled if not. I like the french cap too, but they're all on back order so I considered synthetic, but they only come in mono and for me it's too obvious it's not real at the front.

It’s a good one isn’t it. Mine is still wearable, even though not in new condition any more. One of the things I love about it is that it’s synthetic and the colour doesn’t fade in the sun. Also the shaping of the shorter pieces at the front are very flattering. Enjoy her x

Hi, thanks for your comment. Knowing which topper to buy is really quite difficult but I am glad I bought the large base one as I believe I need the coverage. There is no point getting the wrong base size as it would show all the things you want to hide lol. Which styles did you have in mind? how much coverage do you need?
