I used to have an old Serbian neighbour who had a small farm where he had some chickens, fresh fruits and vegetables and he also had honey bees. He always used to offer us his produce and smoked meats without any cost but my mum refused to take them without repaying the favour, so we every few weeks we would have him over for fresh spring rolls and rice paper rolls. It took him a while to get used to the Vietnamese food but he eventually learned to love it. Really miss those days now that I moved to the city.
I bet he was making rakija too, my people make it even in the city in the back yard (garage).
BTW, I love Vietnamese food, give me Thai or Vietnamese food any time of the day.

another difference between EU eggs and US eggs is that the eggs in the US are refrigerated (which is probably why they can clean it so much) so it will last longer on the shelf. but that means that you cannot leave them sitting out for long otherwise they will sweat and go bad. and that is the specific reason eggs from the US are not allowed in the EU. but i would assume that they would maybe wash the shit off of the eggs lmao.

cool, I heard Milunka joined the army as male using the name Milun and it was way later in the war they discovered that she was not male, ... generally women were not allowed to join.
Her CO had to seek an approval from the very king, so he approved Milunka and Flora Sands as NCO's. Flora was british and I think the only fem infantry officer of WW1.

Our hospitaliy is very well known to our foreing friends, but we can be so cruel to eachother. Brother to brother, son to father etc. Now in comment will say, that this is not typical for any nation, but here is different. Think that hate or anger lies in fact that is too much pride and ego spins around here. Our heratige is traditional. . And that is kinda not nice.. sometimes, like in this case. I am not sure where you buy your eggs, I also live in the Netherlands and get then from a local guy, for the XXL I pay 2,30. Very big eggs and good ones. Those eggs you buy must be made by a Golden goose.

Milunka Savić was born in 1888, in the village of Koprivnica,near Raška, in Serbia. In 1913, her brother received call-up papers for mobilization for the Second Balkan War. She chose to go in his place-cutting her hair and donning men's clothes and joining the Serbian army.[She quickly saw combat and received her first medal and was promoted to corporal in the Battle of Bregalnica. Engaged in battle, she sustained wounds and it was only then, when recovering from her injuries in hospital, that her true gender was revealed, much to the surprise of the attending physicians.
"Savic was called before her commanding officer. They didn't want to punish her, because she had proven a valuable and highly competent soldier. The military deployment that had resulted in her gender being revealed had been her tenth. But neither was it suitable for a young woman to be in combat. She was offered a transfer to the Nursing division. Savic stood at attention and insisted she only wanted to fight for her country as a combatant. The officer said he'd think it over and give her his answer the next day. Still standing at attention, Savic responded, "I will wait." It is said he only made her stand an hour before agreeing to send her back to the infantry."
In 1914, in the early days of World War I, Savić was awarded her first Karađorđe Star with Swords after the Battle of Kolubara. She received her second Karađorđe Star (with Swords) after the Battle of the Crna Bend in 1916 when she captured 23 Bulgarian soldiers single-handedly.

A little feathers and "stuff" reminds me of the old local eggs farms lol. I've kept chickens and if you do it right, the eggs never have "stuff" on them, but most eggs farms in the US are awful and that's why eggs are washed in the US.

As an American who likes Serbia you're as popular as a well "equipped" woman, I guess. :D But yeah, I would avoid politics entirely if it's not really a matter of heart for you. Indeed nice looking church. But the Russian style in building churches never existed in that part of Serbia. Even though there were a lot of Russian exiles in Serbia after The October Revolution (in Sremski Karlovci especially), Russian influence in sacral architecture is hardly visible anywhere in Serbia (except in the interior of The Church of Saint Sava).
People already call it "Putin's church" as being similar to Russian st. Nicolas church near Sofia. Initially, it was dedicated to honor and remember all the victims of “Oluja” (as someone said in comments) but the local bishop decided that it would be better to allure more donors by changing its architecture and purpose. And now small borough near Inđija has its Russian style church but has no municipal sewer line or plumbing. ☦🛕🛁🚽
