Just about any old children's tale is intense.
Well, Max & Moritz did some over the top "jokes", like choking chickens for fun, but Yeah. Pretty drastic end for them.
If I remember correctly, snowwhite's stepmother was killed in the end by putting red hot iron shoes on her feet and making her dance to total exhaustion for the wedding crowd.

Imagine somebody had set up a wildlife camera in the woods there, they wouldn't even have audio but observe a young man with an undersized sweater gesturing and talking to a tree across him, then dress up like a mental asylum escapee and do it all again in the other direction. That would make my day for sure. Especially the two weeks afterwards of trying to decide whether to show it to my family or call the CIA.
