As a delivery driver me personally I find it extremely kind when people tip, do I expect it? No. Do I get mad if I don’t get one ? No. It is a kind gesture that is optional and the right drivers will appreciate it every time
Nah if you're too broke to add a tip, you shouldn't be ordering Doordash, dominoes, eating out etc. No excuse for not adding a tip.
Edit: the food is most commonly cheaper in America than in european countries and you get more of it. A lot of you didn't know this.
@@Megatholis dog why u mad
i always tip $5 i know it’s cheap but in some way i know it’s kindhearted
@@Megatholisfr exactly what joe said
I feel the same way, but when I don’t get tipped because of something the cook messed up, it does kinda make me upset
Here’s my issue with the tipping system. It’s been turned from an optional showing of gratitude to something that’s EXPECTED now to the point it’s a cultural thing, you’ll be belittled and called broke if you don’t tip. Instead of companies paying their employees reasonable wages, they force them to get money from tips and therefore, makes them come to expect it.
Tipping went from gestures of gratitude to paying their employees salaries
Joe is genuinely one of the people i laugh at
Percentage tipping is stupid though. You can go get breakfast for 10 bucks and have her refill your coffee 6 times, vs going to a steakhouse and paying 90 bucks. The second person doesn’t deserve 9x the tip because they didn’t work 9x harder.
Joe never fails to give me his big tip 💀
I wish he gave me it 😢
Ok pal 😭
What
Bro 😭
HAH
imo tipping is kinda dumb, its not my responsibility to pay the employee and I don't care bout random people yk? If they are doin good, great ty you are awesome. But I'm paying for what I have to. Not to mention tipping standards are cray
I think the main problem with tipping is that your expected to tip based on how much you spent. It should be tipping on service not price of ur food. If i ordered a sparkling water and it was like 1 thousand i shouldnt have to tip 20% and give the guy $200 for bringing that water
Actually tipping is viewed as bad by Japan
I never once expect anyone to tip at all. I have been threatened to be assaulted if I begged for tips, and all I did was ask if they wanted their receipt. And the entire time, I apologized for asking questions because my job requires a lot of questions because we know how fucking picky everyone is food-wise and normally people demand I stop asking questions like if they want protein or if they want a type of cheese or the size of the bowl.
And we don't do the tip jar, it causes fghts which have caused hospitalizations before.
The most annoying thing is buissneses who do shared tips. Why should I split the money that I worked harder to make with the people who did nothing to help.
People expecting tips is crazy ngl
What I hate is when they add in a tip just to get extra cash from you. I like ordering food online and picking it up myself and so many places in my town will try to hide the fact they force add a tip that you have to opt out of. I understand if they bring it to me but if they just throw it together and I go in to pick it up I’m not tipping.
Thats why in Europe and Australia we give our waiters bartenders ext proper wages
@@dropkickedurnan6099how it should be
After coming home from my trip from Asia where tipping is not mandatory. Now back in the US where the expected tip has risen from 15% to 18% for almost everything, I can say tipping culture is stupid and I use to work for starbucks and as a server for a restaurant.
This scares me away from going on vacation to the US. I’m not spending 100 on a meal and then being pressured into giving extra money. Where I’m from people appreciate a tip once in a while, they don’t expect it tho.
Hey joe you help with distracting me from bad things in life and i appreciate the consistent content ❤
my dad was tipping $15 for idk what but once he saw they charged him 50 cents for ranch he only tipped $5💀
as someone who works in the fast food and does all the work in the back then sees the cashier getting tips makes me so mad 😂
That's what I be thinking, people in the back working too
I will not pay a tip unless I’m truly satisfied with their service

Imagune you're dying, having a seizure, and the ambulance worker pulls out a tip tablet
I was just working in a restaurant until about a month ago and if we didn’t get tipped we left with nothing, we got payed $2.50 an hour and it was all taken for taxes so what we made in tips was all we made. I agree if you can’t afford it don’t go out to eat, I saw another sever have a family who didn’t order anything for their kids..she said she knew they weren’t gonna tip, she felt bad for the kids and got the manager to give her 2 gift cards for the kids so they could eat..they didn’t tip her, those people had no business going out to eat if they weren’t going to get their kids anything and eat in front of them. A lot of people think it’s not their job to tip, but a couple people not leaving a tip isn’t going to make a ceo of chain restaurant start paying their workers better..and as far as people choosing to stay at a job like that, some people have to take what they can get.
except if you can't make at least minimum wage in tips then you aren't a good waitress
Than why do you work as a waiter?😂😂
If you don't wanna work a dead end job go to school 😂
Holy $2.5 an hour??? I’m pretty sure minimum wage is $10
@@user-zc3fp5kw1j if you read my comment you would have seen I said “until about a month ago” and not that I need to explain myself but I have 3 kids, me and their dad aren’t together and I live in a small town so I had to take the first place that called me when I was looking for a new job. I went into it knowing it was temporary until I found something better, which I did. And to the person above this comment..I can’t sit around having no income for a couple years while going to school and trying to raise 3 kids and get them through school also. The comment wasn’t to gain sympathy, just to say that some people have no idea how hard a job like that is and that a couple people not tipping isn’t going to make a restaurant pay their servers more
Joe never fails to make me keel over and turn into a frog
As a Waiter, the logic of “if you can’t tip then you shouldn’t go out to eat” is stupid. What if you can afford to buy the meal but not afford to pay a 10%-25% tip? That’s like saying don’t buy a video game that’s $30 if you can’t afford a video game that cost $60.
Also not tipping actually has worked to make restaurants pay more especially when waiters afford working there. This is nothing new
What Joe is saying here is that going out for food is more expensive than eating at home, so if you are in a financial situation where you are unable to tip 20-25% of the bill then you shouldn't be eating out. You should be spending your money on more important things or saving it
That analogy is stupid.

Fresh out the shower to a joe vid is nice.
U tip when u pick up food?? So ur tipping the person making it right? Nah the waitress gets the tip for handing u the food when u get there that's another reason why it's dumb. It's should be almost 50 50 split but waitress can walk with hundreds n give 4 ppl in the back 80 bucks to split

Once me and my friends were at a restaurant and while we were figuring out the tip and who was giving what, the waitress was like “your gunna tip right”. Then we didn’t want to but our waiter was different before so we did
That's just the waitress being naggy. Like honestly you do not demand tips, it's a graceful gesture to tip, not a right.
@@anglepsycho every company demands tips it's mandatory now to seem like a dick idk why it used to be just a kind gesture but people like Joe are making it a big deal saying if you can't tip don't go out like I'm going out to feed another person. I don't care what dead end waiter thinks of me
@@loopyglob7872 You probably should care; you know that all the staff remember exactly who you are, right? Stiff me on the tip and you're going to get the shittiest service possible on future visits. Don't fuck with people that fuck with your food!
@@loopyglob7872 A lot fo companies don't really demand tips, the demanding is for feedback. My job, and yes I work a fast restaurant job, don't do tips other than what people go out of their way to do for the selection part, and I have seen a guy get cut open and almost bleed out over a tip jar incident so none of that is around. We prioritize the surveys cause we desperately need the feedback, only doing a reward like a free dessert is apparently cheating and not the only way they will even take a survey. I've tried multiple methods, it sucks.
Joe, I love when you watch degen, you should watch his epic content more often fr🎉
real
First, I want to say thanks to Joe for defending servers because it’s not easy especially for catering companies I work 10+ hours most shifts and I’m only 17 years old and get paid 15 an hour. I only worked two days and my checks only about 250. So getting an extra $20 tip is greatly appreciated when we are catering to them however long the party is as each parties are 6+ hours.
And to top it all off when the person is trying to buy the room for their party when they sign, the contract it says servers get paid this amount when you pay but it’s false… we don’t get anything from them.
Bro my parents tip 100 just for wings and i dont get it

In England we tip if the service is good and it is not expected unless at a restaurant and normally it's just when you leave for example just leave £5 on the table when you leave or about $6.23
