Nice work. Well done. You could do with a z axis lock. In fact it is helpful to lock all axis that you are not moving.

I do have a z axis lock, you can see me turn that knob in one clip. I forgot to mention it

Dude you can use your own milling machine to true up the vice and the jaws, its good also do a small square relief to clamp small pieces and bolt hard steel on that soft aluminiun jaws

Yeah that is what I did, but it still lifts too much since it is not a good design. I will probably make or buy a new one
