      @@bobbysbucks You're welcome! Yep, the Shikars have one, the Scout platform, which makes the one stick 2.6 lb. with the platform. I'm looking for a set of sticks to replace my Heliums. I like the EWO's but they're only 1.5 lb. less than the 3 step heliums. Not worth the $689 for a pound and a half...

    There’s a product of rubber spray like for wrench handles, hammer handles etc. It dries to a rubber type finish. You could tape cover the treads et c that doesn’t need coverage and just spray the stuff on. I’ve used it on many things and it works great. Even on things I use a lot. Would last years on these steps no more than they actually get used

    I have some Muddy Pro and while I really love the sticks they are extremely heavy, like they weigh more than the rest of my gear combined. I am really looking for some light weight, packable sticks and these seem to be what I am after. I don't get why people complain about how loud they are, just wrap them in some camoform or stealth strips, its like $12. You literally should do this to any packable stick anyway.

    04:52 Funny how we are all different as individuals. I also wear a 10.5 or 11 size boot, and the shallow standoff is the ONLY reason I didn't keep my original ONE sticks. I just never felt like I could get a secure comfortable footing while climbing. Especially if the tree was on the bigger side. I know it would increase the weight a few ounces per stick (defeating the purpose of the name), but only 1 more inch of standoff would make these perfect... for me.

    • @bobbysbucks
      @bobbysbucks  Рік тому +1

      That's unfortunate because boy are they a night and day difference from my muddy sticks I used to hike out with.
      Have you tried a smaller profile boot to help climb with your one sticks?

      @@bobbysbucks I generally wear Keen hiking boots to hunt in which have a fairly small profile, but when I first got them out of the box and tried them on a tree in the yard I was just wearing tennis shoes and I immediately noticed how small the standoff was. I gave them a shot a couple times in the woods with boots on, and just never felt comfortable climbing with them so I sold them and used my Hawk minis for the rest of that season. Been using Novix mini double steps for the past couple seasons now, but I'm probably going to get the Skeletors for next season. I really love the rope attachment method those and the ONEs have.
