Can't get over how good that car looks in black.

Hi Dave. You should have considered pertronix ignitor 3 with the coil. It's absolute heaven. Strong spark, no ballast resistor and you keep your stock distributor in place. It's amazing. No issues for 5 years. Great videos by the way 👍

Thank you. I thought about it, but as I explained, I liked the all in one package from Ricks.

Dave, curious, that kit is sold by Rick Ehrenberg? Was that blue ScotchLoc part of that kit, with instructions for it to be used to tap the ECU power off of the stock ignition 1 wires at the ballast resistor? Those things are not designed for that type of connection. Should have a crimp style Packards there, pretty sure that kit comes with them.

@@72roadrunnergtx yes, that’s Rick‘s kit but no, it did not come with any Packard connectors or anything to make the wire connections at all. I use the blue connector as you describe. I haven’t had any problems with it in a year and a half.

@@DaveTurnerBassGuitar Strange, all of his kit offerings I’m looking at all picture/show new Packard style terminals for the ballast resistor included as did all the original Mopar Performance kits. 3m ScotchLok taps are not designed for much of any current at all, and definitely not designed for any exposure to moisture as found under the hood. It will leave you on the side of the road one day, just a matter of time. The ECU power is just as important as is the ECU ground.
Highly recommend finding a good quality female Packard style connector, cut off the ignition 1 factory Packard and crimp all three wire together, plug back on to the ballast resistor. Throw away any other blue Scotchloks you may have for working on a car.
Just noticed the Washington plate, where abouts?

@@72roadrunnergtx I may have been mistaken. I didn't recall getting those, but perhaps I did and chose not to use them. I'm not super happy with my mounting location so I may redo all the wiring and redo the connections correctly at that time. I'm in Spokane.
