    Thank you for showing us around our future Costco! We are scheduled to move into our purchased Mountain View home next year. Thinking that probably about once a month we will take a little road trip to Kona and hit the Costco while we are there. It’s good to see familiar favorites like the pumpkin pie, ridged potato chips, and pizza (price’s identical to Pittsburgh locations)🤙

      youʻll want to go more than once a month tho, because the offerings are very much based on barge deliveries… that and find ways to utilize local instead/do without. Life here can be much simpler and cheaper if you learn some local ways…

    Cool video. Nice to see a different take on visiting Hawaii. Y'all brought back some wild memories for me. In 1977 I bike toured Hawaii for a month and camped down in Punaluu behind that big pavilion. Two Hawaiian brothers who were living on their grandmother's property across from the pavilion took me in, showed me around, feed me, smoked me under the table. Spent a week there. Truly magical place. I hope you also went to the other side too. Thanks for sharing this.

      Sounds like a great authentic experience!! If you mean the other side of the island, then the answer is yes! We are there at the moment.

    They jump off that cliff all the time but, conditions have to be right. It is quite dangerous. The locals can guide you on how to do it safely. If you are not with a local, don’t even try it. Many have been seriously injured and you have to be in good shape to get back up.

      @@TeamSauceTravelsSorry to butt in. I just realized your video is like now. Are you visiting the Kalapana area? There's some magical places down there. And Laupahoehoe north of Hilo. I can relate to the inexpensive tour part. In 1989 my wife and I spent our honeymoon night in a tent in Kalapana. 😃

    Jumping off the s pt places should only be done with locals, thereʻs a lot of dangers and things to know to make it easier/safer. Thereʻs no rescue service close there so stay safe and donʻt take risks.

    • @TeamSauceTravels
      @TeamSauceTravels  8 місяців тому

      Oh definitely, a risky place to jump and swim for sure.

    So cool, great vid once again! One question though, how does it compares to Guadeloupe where you've (and we've also) been? We would really like to go to Hawaii once but is it very different ? Climate seems to be similar as well as blue water beaches 😬. For us from France, going to Hawaii is like 3x the price and travel duration, but don't know if it is really worth it. Since you did go to both you may please help us 😇.
    Have a good one in Hawaii. Cheers from Normandy.

    • @TeamSauceTravels
      @TeamSauceTravels  8 місяців тому +1

      Both are great, same climate as Guadeloupe. For us going to Hawaii was also wayyyyyy further and definitely more expensive. I think you will enjoy Guadeloupe just as much as you would Hawaii. Guadeloupe had a really nice Caribbean vibe that we loved. To be honest Hawaii was never in our budget but we had free flights on points so we made it happen.
      I think you will love Guadeloupe, lots of little islands you can take day trips to visit if you need more things to keep busy.

    My son and I jumped off of the cliffs at South Pointe about 2 years ago (I'm 56 he's 28). It was really fun, and I'm glad we did it, but I won't do it again, once was enough. I just heard a guy died about a month or so ago, apparently it can get pretty rough and can be dangerous. Here's a tip - You drive by Paradise Meadows mac nut farm on the way in and out of South Pointe, It's my wife's favorite place to get mac nuts as they do them differently than anybody. We have them shipped to us several times a year. Their honey is awesome too.

      Crazy, when we went the ocean was really rough. We didn't even consider it. Thanks for the tip about the nuts!

    I am glad you and your family had a great time. My daughter goes to college in Hilo (totally different than the Kona side), so I have been to the Big Island several times. On a visit to South Point in 2022 we did jump off the cliff. You are right the ladder below the wood jumping area is very sketchy. We jumped off the cliff a little more south of the wood platform and came back using a rope that was available next to the area we jumped. The climb up was slippery but doable. The jump did not seem as high as the cliff looked. Next time you visit Hawaii got to Kauai. The family spent this past Thanksgiving there. Amazing and very different.

    • @TeamSauceTravels
      @TeamSauceTravels  8 місяців тому

      Wow, we are impressed you jumped. The wind and waves against the cliffs were pretty ridiculous. Just jumping would have been crazy let alone getting back up.
      Ah good to know for a next visit.
      Thanks for the comment.
