Own one of these. Best car I have ever owned; but comes with major lifestyle incompatibilities for me (2dr, no folding seats, not roof rack compatible). Makes me wish Lexus would bring back the IS-F with this drivetrain and the new IS styling. The IS500 just doesnt do it for me due to all the missing F perks. On the hunt for a GS-F.
@@Jb-mp1in it has the exact same engine and transmission but has 4 doors and utilizes the compact sedan IS body style. The LC 500 also has the same engine but of the three has an updated center console (the RCF and IS500 have ones from like 2014, which while good and built well are still outdated)
As a GM guy all my life (first car was a ‘68 GTO), I never thought I’d cheer on Toyota for a 5 liter V8. But so much of this Lexus hits the same objectives as the 80s IROC-Zs, Monte Carlo SS Aero coupes, and Buick T-Types. Throw in some poly-graphite suspension bushings, unibody stiffening armatures, and a proper gasket to seal the air intake against the functional hood, and you’ve got something really potent.
