I agree with N. Matthews: "the best opening I’ve ever heard of this concerto". But the rest of the concerto was at the same level. What a rich sound, so reminiscent of David Oistrakh! A rendition that transmits all the calm, the serenity, beauty and joy of this masterwork. I have listen many passages in a completely new way. Great dialogue with the orchestra. Wonderful audio; unfortunately poor camera work.
I agree with you. The seriousness, concentration and focus of the sound remind me of Oistrakh. It is strange today to find those attributes in young violinists.
@@uaxacoc I think perhaps not as much as you think. Today's young violinists have at their disposal many recordings of Heifetz, Oistrach, Elman, Nevoux, Milstein, etc. And I think that's it feels like there is more variety in violinists sound again !!
Chuanyuan Li Macau 😆😁😍
Listen Oistrakh and Kogan...
23:35 literally every violinst on earth misses that jump like even itzhak perlman missed but he's just crazy
Honestly the best opening I’ve ever heard of this concerto. Blows away Kavakos, Vengerov, all the other big time soloists. Hope you’re playing with Berlin and Cleveland soon man
That must be some crazy unbreakable Unicorn hair on your bow, not a single hair broke during 44:40 - end of cadenza! This is some crazy good and intense playing!! 👏👏
Dieu, quel merveilleux violoniste ♡
Out of the world! A real deal!
Zertifiziert intergalaktisch! 🌹
The best violinist the world has produced!
This concerto is really a bunch of scales and arpeggios but so superbly crafted that it became the foundation, inspiration and father of all the great romantic concertos, in my opinion.
Ps, well done Kerson. Fab performance.
You are the best violinist of all time.
Perhaps you never hear Kogan or Oistrakh.
camera work and editing was kinda funny at times but beautiful performance!
Great performance by a great Artist.
Listening to how Kerson Leong plays this concerto made me realise why Beethoven only wrote one for the violin. This has to be the greatest violin concerto of all times, Beethoven surely imagined it played like this and knew he could never write another. Dies ist der Vollendung.
Your performance is just outstanding, full of wonderful subtleties, propound emotions and sensitivity ! I love the deep power, the peace, and the serenity that you infuse in your perfect playing.
Playing this huge masterpiece like this at his age is a complete miracle; it's beauty in optima forma. I was stunned.
These bow changes are flawless. Incredible.
An intensly pure heart so well served by a great violin ! Great work, Kerson ! Heartfelt thanks to you !
Henri Roy he has a Guarneri?
Technically flawless.
I very rarely comment on youtube vids, but what can I say? An absolutely stunning performance, Kerson. What a wonderful sound you make, thanks to that beautiful bowarm and exhilarating vibrato from a constantly active and adaptive left hand. I love the commitment and nobility in your playing and comparisons with the legendary David Oistrakh are spot on.
Tears of musical joy @ 23:00min! Thank you Kerson, and GOD bless you in the name of Jesus!😍🥰🤩
I follow you on Instagram, but I had no idea that you won the junior division of the Menhuin Competition in 2010!
Allegro 0:41
Larghetto 26:42
Rondo 36:43
First time I’ve been able to listen to this whole concerto through. I was riveted to my seat by the uniquely exciting nuances, detailed individual note structure and projection, intensity of emotion (but not movement), infinite invitation to the audience to watch the humble creation of beautiful art and colour...I have been given a gift. Thank you Kerson, what a gorgeous performance! One of my favourites to date!
Watching you perform has revived my love of classical music and concerts that was dead or dormant for over 20 years. With the recent birth of my baby daughter, I try to look through her new eyes and that in combination with your zeal and passion and focus for the love and perfect and beautiful manifestation of music, has changed everything for me. Thank you Kerson.
Mr.Kerson, you are pretty liked a painter who is "drawing" different scenes but with a violin bow. Incredible !
Bravo! Brilliant performance! And your cadenzas are marvelous!!
One of the best performances of this piece. Also one of the few artists who has brought tears to my eyes, I really hope you record it one day!
Thank you so much!
Kathryn Chamberlain umm I think this is a recording lol also, did we go to IU together
Bravo Kerson...
Ahh camera man’s angles... i will close my eyes so I can focus on him! ❤️ He’s the best of bests
Bravo! Awesome Performance my friend!
Beautiful sonorous sound and interpretation! Sensitive and musical!
What a wonderful, true artist Kerson is - listening to him is always a richly rewarding experience.
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Can you do a video on physics having to do with string resonance? I saw that on your website that learning about that benefited your playing, and I think it would be very interesting to learn about the physics behind string resonance.
Bravo!! This performance is great. Thanks!
It's really beautiful Kerson!:)
Bravissimo
🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
What a beautiful pwrformance! So powerful! So musical! Fantastic! E an empty theather. The people of Montreal missed an opportunity!
You seriously remind me of David Oistrakh! Not just in this piece. The tone, the approach to notes, the whole whole quality and feeling. I love it.
Herr Beethoven would approve I'm sure!
Beetoven concerto is very long composition and if it's played slowly it become too long to listen to.
I love Heifetz tempo.
Magnifique !
This is a truly outstanding performance. Unbelievably well and beautifully played.
Definitely one of the best ( or , the BEST player) amoung the youth
46:48 That's a good way to shit a beautiful performance... The horn...
Thank you. I would have loved to have been there. Would have left very pleased. Wonderful performance.
Esse carinha tem um som incrível!
very well played and you deserve a better orchestra! :)
I agree... where were the tympani at the beginning??
D M there was
...and camera work
V true
46:48 proof
Currently working on this. Such inspiration!
This is both educational and entertaining to watch 💕💕💕💕💕
bruh 🤩 i have to see you perform live one day
45:14 - a very necessary camera angle adjustment to focus on the ginger-hairs bassist... not doing anything at that moment hahah. Well done cameraman! *clap clap*
he needs a better orchestra .
Inspiration to me... your intensity, smoothness, seemingly effortless power and nuance make for a riveting experience. Thank you Kerson!
Really nice playing!!
Unbelievable!!! Simply.
So juicy sound.....
😢😢😢👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Parabéns, excelente apresentação. Referencial.
36:44
Concerto begins at 4:15
Why so few in the audience?
Which cadences is he playing? Please ? Is awesome how he plays
cadences by Kreisler (the same as Oistrakh/Cluytens)
Where's the rest of the orchestra? Did they get laid off?
23:25
Brilliant soloist with a lackluster orchestra.
that HIGH note tho
Lovely and especially superb intonation from the soloist....but the bass section sounds like they all took codeine shots before the concert...toothless and fraction late all the time...not the acoustics but the core of the sound.
poor french horns. why always horns?
Great performance, but in my opinion orchestra is disgusting. Kerson needs a better orchestra!
you are so great. delicate and espressivo. and you are very handsome. :(
