I love this channel. It’s been fun to watch it develop and i like this new style of the video- with the music, still and moving images, and your top notch narration. I know it’s good because there is no way I am ever eating that stuff, but I was captivated with the entire video. Keep them coming Torbs
Thanks a bunch buddy for your kind comment, really appreciate it! I will certainly try to be a little bit more consistent with the uploads than I have been of late. I've actually tried surströmming and it tastes pretty much EXACTLY what it smells like. Not to be recommended, but worth it if you have it on your bucket list. Tick :)))
@@historyofadish7430 It´s not rotten but fermented but fermented herring can also rotten and than goes right in the trash can. :) This is how you eat it: ua-cam.com/video/U-Y8qqdjDAk/v-deo.html
Im from Cornwall in England and my family have been fishermen for generations and when we go to Sweden we like it its not as bad as the things I've seen in India or Africa
It's not rotten fish - it's fermented. As a food channel you should know that these two things are not related. Cider, for example, is not a rotten apple drink.
Yes there is huge difference cider is perfectly safe and drinkable this is a bio hazard I watched a clip of a dog throwing up from sniffing it to this vid if a dog is throwing up from smell alone and can't eat it I doubt a human should 😆
Surströming is not supposed to be eaten raw, just like you would not chuck pure worcestershire sauce, it has a strong taste, it is supposed to be eaten with midly flavoured carbas like bread and potatoes to which it gives flavour. So it is more like a sauce in solid form, that something to be eaten on itst own.
I think the entire experience revolves around being astonished that it dosen't taste nearly as bad as it smells.
Very interesting and informative, like this channel a lot, thank you
What an underrated channel. You deserve more subs and view with this quality.

Dude, I'd love to hear of someone sneaking this onto an airplane and having this massive grenade of rotten fish anus going off at 10,000 feet.

What are the bad things you’ve seen in Africa🙄😏
Yeah let’s hear about the foods you’ve seen in India and Africa that smell of rotting eggs or faeces as mentioned on this video
What a wonderful channel thank you for making it!
Cheers buddy! And I thank you for taking the time out of your day to watch it :)
I think I’ll stick to the Swedish meatballs.
Hahahaa, I think that’s probably a wise choice😄👍🏼
Don't worry, we will come up with fermented meatballs soon
Imagine putting 50 cans into a cluster bomb and drop it behind the enemy line
Is it available in IKEA restaurant's ?
Native peoples in the north of Canada and Alaska ferment salmon and salmon heads

How about ginamos or bulad in Philippines...ginamos is a kind of small fish could bolinaw mixed with salt....

Hate the way some people pretend to be fussy in the video. That is stinky, not the food.
The dish so good you have to be drunk to eat it
What about Lutefisk, sorry, that's Norwegian off course.
Swedish too, although called lutfisk here. We have it every christmas in Stockholm.
It would be pronounced SuSHtruming.
The most famous fermented fish is the egyptian fisikh how can u skip that... there is only half a billion arab in the world
I love those new European maps that exclude Russia from Europe but include Turkey. Sorry, but this isn't a European map, it's a NATO map
I'd rather eat surstromming than vegan "food"...
