The thing about Rodri is that I wouldn't call him a great defensive player: he's not. He's very slow and spends a lot of time ahead of the ball. I think his main value comes from his physicality, his build up play capability, and his contribution to the attack and in possession, which can be a form of defense. Kovacic is quicker and great at carrying the ball to the final third, but his contribution stops there. He's not a great passer, doesn't really distribute the ball well, is a reckless tackler, and adds little to nothing to the attack. When one adds all that up and the fact that he doesn't think like a DM, City end up having to compensate too much in other areas. City didn't necessarily need a like for like replacement for Rodri, but I do wish they had brought in a player who is maybe just okay on the ball, but would shore up the defense, which lacks athleticism, especially with Ake out.
Seriously is Haaland the only player in this team who can score gaols for us 🤔 our entire attack depends on 1 PLAYER to get gaols which can easily be countered by marking him with 3 players + GK whenever the ball goes to him , if he's heavily marked every game the rest of the players need step and score or at least create scoring chance for someone that isn't Haaland. @@Andoh3 There was a problem on Rico return to his defending position while playing as midfielder in offense. It was bad in vs Brentford and vs westham 2nd half.
Why not play Stones if this is what we were going to do?
My preferred team would indeed have Stones pushing up alongside the deeper midfielder (my preferred option would be Gundo)
That would allow both Foden and KDB to play more advanced
I was about to ask the same question, Stones is one of my favorite modern player, I'm not even joking.
Next match he's gonna use a 2-1-6-1
It didn’t fail player fail to capitalized their chance
This guy just throws darts at a dartboard and runs with it
You guys don't need palmer lol
Just leave it nobbins he is never going to listen to what other say , he just satisfying his ego for him his ego is bigger than team success, he now have faout with foden it seems, no city fan will ever accept foden leaving because of him, we already suffered lost cancelo and Palmer to his fucking ego, let's call Vincent kompany next season start new era send this catlan along with his two pet dogs Txiki and ferran back to Barcelona
Failed 😂how did it fail if gundo hadn't been selfish city were gonna win 3-1
As I explain
Doku LW, Haaland CF, Savinho RW
Grealish, Foden, Bernardo midfield
LB Gvardiol, Dias Akanji CB, lewis RB
Keep Gundogan on the bench.
Thats the best starting lineup
THE Over thinking as usual by PEP too much respect to New castle which is a mediocre team who depends on counter attacks mainly and Chios.
This is a very lazy criticism
City needs a young play maker indeed...Midfield needs to Reinforce
