@@Andizu1you don't actually flop around with the bottom of your body. That part, basically anything under your waist, is secured with i believe pneumatic restraints, which run free until locked in. After that, the staff there will come and give the pneumatic harness a nice heavy push against your legs just in case the harness can lock in even lower, and after it's checked by staff, the pneumatic harness system will not budge until it's released using an external "plug". Basically, your ass will simply not be physically able to move an inch from the seat. Or even if it can, it will still only be a few milimeters up or down, and absolutely no side to side movement. With the upper body, that kind of movement doesn't occur due to the way coasters move, like as you see they don't do any sudden stops or random unangled 90 degree turns. Basically the way they're bending and curving ensures that your neck doesn't randomly snap to one side, rather always is pushing mostly down, also why many turns are angled.

To me, the worst part about roller coasters is the slow and intimidating climb. That's the only time I'm worried about potential injury. After that, the sensory overload combined with the fun I'm having make the initial fear worth it. 😄
Exactly. I’m afraid of heights so I was terrified on one of those rope swings that holds two people in a harness, when it took forever to bring you up to the height before dropping, I nearly squeezed my buddy’s arm off (lol), but once the drop came it was exhilarating.
Hyperion lift hill is really fast, you pull out of loading and think 'well at least I have the climb to delay the inevitable' it feels like you fly up that lift hill so fast and then it just throws you off, it's also next to the entrance so often the first ride of the day, this coaster is a MONSTER.
I used to be deathly afraid of roller coasters despite never riding any. One day at Hershey Park, I was about 17 and decided to finally ride a rollercoaster. I wanted to experience it finally and conquer my fears, even if I passed out I told myself. I was also with a group of friends at Hershey Park for the day for the first time since I was a little kid, and didn’t want to chicken out. So I was socially pressured as well. Needless to say, I did not regret it. One of the best times I ever had. Although admittedly I kept screaming and getting close to passing out, but I tried skyrush for the first time. The tallest one in the park. Now I love roller coasters, the anxiety building up before the drop and the drop itself is so fun😭
Honestly after being on a roller coaster today I don’t think I would ever force someone to get on it. This guy was hilarious. Again I went on a roller coaster and I still wouldn’t force anyone
My friend talked me into riding one rollercoaster, not even that bad, I sounded similar to this guy and can understand his pain, props to him for going though
during moments like these, you must let go, and accept what is coming to you. it makes it alot easier. yes you will feel the adrenaline rush over your body, but if you're not tense, you feel it alot less. I want to ride hyperion so bad, it seems like such an amazing attraction. I find this man very brave for entering the ride, despite the fact that he seemed so incredibly affraid to get on hyperion. not everyone is made for an intense artificial flying experience, and that's perfectly fine.
I can try my very hardest to accept and let go. But i have no control of my fear whatsoever. Even when ai go on a ride I want to it’s like I cannot control my reaction no matter how much i try. I even talk myself through it like “it will be easier if i relax my body” yet by the end i’m always sobbing and hyperventilating. Which is why i now tell people it’s just not fun for anyone for me to join them.
the idea of going on a ride where you go upside down but not being in one of those locking mechanisms that go over your shoulders is so terrifying, I could never go on that
@@puffcatcothought about that recently, without an addditional seat belt on the front, wouldn't it be easier to slide out of an over-the-shoulder-restraint than a lap bar? @@pingucraft95 I do agree on that sentiment, as over the shoulder restraints hold you in merely by your shoulders. with a lap bar, your body is "folded in half" making it impossible to fall out. now, I'm not saying that falling out of a rollercoaster with otsrs is a likely occurance, but in theory it should be easier to slip through the harness.
what a good friend! keep making the dude who is scared wake up/regain consciousness just so he can pass out again, and again! love how the guy gave a thumbs-up at the end.

The way it drops was the feeling when I started to feel my stomach but I gotta give this guy credit for showing his braveness and courage to go on this ride.
Here's a tip, if someone tells you they're afraid to go but they're going to try it tell them to look at one thing that's attached to something in the roller coaster chair and focus just on that and let all the shaking the ups and downs and the scenery around be ignored, and if you're going to be upside down or side to side crazily tell him close his eyes for just a moment and grip and forget everything else. Never ever talk somebody into doing something like this that's definitely afraid of those things, years ago my girlfriend who is now my wife wanted to go on a really scary roller coaster, I race desert motorcycles up and down cliffs and sand dunes and drop offs but knowing things about mechanics I didn't trust the safety, I told her this and she simply called me a wimp.
Knowing more about roller coaster's safety systems made me way less scared of them It's way more likely for me to have an accident while parking my car than in the rollercoaster
Wow! I respect this young man, because he was at least brave enough to face his fears. I like people who have a gutsy attitude in facing their fears. However, I can’t believe that he was still passing out near the end of the ride when it’s not even scary anymore.

@@bananawitchcraft I suffer with something very similar. It's possible it may not be nervous system damage. It may be conditioning and your brain is used to reacting a certain way because that's all it has done its whole life. If that's the case, you can recondition your brain's response over time. I've found that therapy helps with that. This is just my own experience that I wanted to share. I hope you're doing okay.
honestly passing out like that looks like it saved him lol - guy was ready to push himself out of the restraints if his panicking brain was left conscious.
Nop, nonone can open the restraints, they're automatically locked until they recive an electric signal in the station, they cannot open during the ride, and they're locked with the same hydraulic systems used on airplane's flaps, trust me, no human can put enough force to open them.
@@eddycs195 Also, some coasters have a backup: there's a seat belt holding the bar in place juuust in case the bar disconnects but that has never happened. The buckle is outside the car so it's impossible for teens to reach it no matter how long their arms are. If you get on a coaster and wonder why the ride crew squat next to each car, it uses the older bar and seatbelt system.

Yeah see that’s where I’m at. I love coasters and still ride them a lot and enjoy it for the most part but when I start really thinking about how well they were put together or the odds of a bolt coming loose and just MAYBE being that one bolt that holds my seat down or keeps the wheel on the track, that’s when I start to actually get scared. Then I’ll pray to God literally on the ride and just be like “Well God is this is my time to die then you know I love you and I live my family!!💙”😂

The lil thumbs up at the end is the most relatable thing ever.

For a guy living with his fear of roller coasters, he certainly had the ball to overcome it, which is more than I can say about most people. Best part yet, he survived and lived to tell the tale of his heroic endeavor. 👍
Overcoming is the only way to get rid of it. Whether it’s anxiety or roller coasters.
I still think theres absolutely nothing wrong or no reason to shame others for being terrified of roller coasters. And when or if they’re ready to conquer that fear, it should be in their own pace and comfort

To me, the worst part about roller coasters is the slow and intimidating climb. That's the only time I'm worried about potential injury. After that, the sensory overload combined with the fun I'm having make the initial fear worth it. 😄
Yeah exactly, once you're going down the drop, the fear mostly evaporates. At least it does for me
Also the loops. I'm terrified of the loops which is why I never go on roller coasters like that.
@@cwehden AGREE! It's like initial slap in the face. Zadra is the second one 😂

Dude, telling people with fear to 'let go' is like telling a dog to meow
I can try my very hardest to accept and let go. But i have no control of my fear whatsoever. Even when ai go on a ride I want to it’s like I cannot control my reaction no matter how much i try. I even talk myself through it like “it will be easier if i relax my body” yet by the end i’m always sobbing and hyperventilating. Which is why i now tell people it’s just not fun for anyone for me to join them.

the idea of going on a ride where you go upside down but not being in one of those locking mechanisms that go over your shoulders is so terrifying, I could never go on that
I will say, the safety of a lap bar harness might be safer than an over the shoulder harness.
This ride dose not actually go upside down, but it almost does.
@@puffcatcothought about that recently, without an addditional seat belt on the front, wouldn't it be easier to slide out of an over-the-shoulder-restraint than a lap bar? Still near impossible probably, but still...I went on the new vekoma stc at tripsdrill recently and felt absolutely fused to my seat with that Ergonomic lap bar and bucket seat...

You're a freakin WIMP!
Roller coasters are leaps and bounds more safe than your desert racing motorcycle.
Also don’t go on the front or on the back. Those seats are more intense.
Knowing more about roller coaster's safety systems made me way less scared of them

I have nervous system damage from chronic anxiety. I don't have to be feeling anxious in the moment in order for symptoms to happen. My fight-or-flight response just gets activated randomly. And physical reactions to fright can be delayed. Who knows what his medical history is like?
@@bananawitchcraft Try a Ketogenic or even better a Carnivore Diet. It may help.
@@bananawitchcraft
I suffer with something very similar.
Being scarred for life is so much fun when you do it with your bros
The fact that he did a small scream after he woke up in the station realising its over is the funniest part with the thumbs up.🤣
I could not stop laughing every time he woke up just to pass out again. Props dude.
honestly passing out like that looks like it saved him lol - guy was ready to push himself out of the restraints if his panicking brain was left conscious.
Well, actually, he couldn't have. Once a roller coaster starts, the restraints cannot physically be opened until the train returns to the station

This is a very dangerous, medical condition that can easily lead to a heart attack, or worse.
Elaborate please, because I also do the same when on roller coasters
@@juiceonthebeat Due to the extreme back & forth, repetitive & erratic motions while riding a high-speed roller coaster (much like shaken baby syndrome), this subjects the victim to seizures, traumatic brain injury (TBI- as in football players & other athletes where repetitive trauma to the head is a problem), severe whiplash, concussion, broken neck/spine & even death. It is important for people with certain conditions/diseases/disorders not to even attempt riding such a ride (doing so can up their chances of severe injury/death). Apart from the medical risks... as we have seen, too often than not, the maintenance on such rides is subpar at best. Many times, maintenance records are forged or incorrect information concerning the ride is provided... leaving room for avoidable injury & disaster. It's important to have accuracy when it comes to all amusement park/carnival/fair rides; without that, we're taking huge risks, blindly trusting the industry has our best interests at heart.
@@heathers.5194 I highly doubt a POLISH rollercoaster like this would have incorrect or forged maintenance papers. Europe takes its safety in roller coasters very seriously and often have the best rides too
