I went somewhere to get a hot chocolate, asked if there was gluten in it, person behind the counter looked at me like I was stupid and said, "yeah, it's chocolate, of course it has dairy in it, there isn't any vegan alternatives".
Re GF flour blends, so far the best pre-made blend I've ever found was the Bob's Red Mill 1-1 baking flour which I always use if I'm making something like a cake - for things like cookies I just use whatever supermarket blend I can get. Can be hard to get though since it sells out so quickly, plus its only sold at markets and speciality stores. Simply Wize do a nice GF crusty bread kit too
Super late to the party (just diagnosed) but regarding hot drinks dispenser machines: German internet wanted warned me that sometimes the coffee contains malt coffee to reduce cleaning requirements. Gnah.
wait, did I hear you say that McDonald's in the UK offers gf fries?!? so lucky!! in the US, McD's silently changed their previously vegan (or maybe vegetarian), gf fries to now having beef flavoring, which includes WHEAT AND MILK, rip. a ton of people got sick from them + really, really angry over it. i think this happened around 2007ish or something. literally devastating :(
Yeah they are! (In most places anyway but you have to double check they use a seperate fryer - ive never had an issue though!) you can also get hashbrown and veggie dippers too!
Fun fact: in the US, coeliacs can't eat McDonald's fries, but can eat most M&Ms. In Australia, we can eat McDonald's fries, but not M&Ms. I'd gotten used to at least being able to eat McDonald's fries, so doing road trip in the US meant pretty much exclusively eating at IHOP for me :(
@@zerin25 this is crazy, thanks for the fun facts! although not being able to eat McD's fries isn't fun, at least I still have M&M's haha. I am even more excited to visit AUS or abroad now though ;) and yes, US fast food options are pretty terrible/ limited for us coeliacs, I will forever + always have tons of snacks in my bag lol
@@hesherette it's a little easier in AUS for fast food since less things are fried in addition to chips, so there's a greater chance of having dedicated fryers. Unfortunately because we don't use as much corn syrup as the US though, there's also a greater chance of things being sweetened with wheat glucose syrup. Definitely check the ingredient lists, even for brands you think are safe!! And enjoy the coffee 🤣
@@zerin25 wow that's really interesting + I'm sorry! GF thankfully became a pretty big fad in the US so it seems like more options than ever. My gma 20+ years ago had a hard time we spent so much time reading ingredient labels 🤣
As for the kissing, I’ve heard 2 hours but best to have them brush after eating! Don’t forget about Beard products too, ex had a lovely beard butter with wheat protein in it.
you’re so naturally funny lmaoo
omg I'm barely 1 minute in + I'm laughing my butt off. the (pauses to listen) absolutely had me in stitches!!
Hey I just wanted to make sure you felt listened to 😂
Really enjoyed this! Funny and good information. :) Thanks
I loved to see pão de queijo as a reference! Hahaha great video!

Ooo ok LEON! And McDonald’s Fries are GF!???
Barcelona is gluten-free heaven :)
