Thank you for watching and Please don’t forget to like (if you enjoy it) 👍and subscribe 🙏
Good evening! I'm watching one more time this Changing Guards, filming also by AFV. It's always a great pleasure for me to see the extraordinary SDM CHAMBERS, the Iconic and unmistakable Chambers, my favorite one! Excellent the Regimental Band of the Irish Guards and their marches (i like the last one in the castle, National Emblem i think). A fine video, thank you. Have a nice Ferragosto night!
@@AlbaAlba-fg2io Hi good evening.
Glad you enjoyed it and greetings 👋
Well This has made my Week! (It's Friday here already) My Favourite DM, My Favourite Band & some of my Favourite Marches. Welcome Back to The Band of The Irish Guards after a Short Summer Break from Public Duty!
I'm glad to see a Fellow Commentator was wrong when he Suggested that the last time we saw the Band led by the Incomparable SDM Gareth Chambers MVO before their Break, Could have been the Last time we'd ever see them. There's always something a little bit Special whenever a DM leads their own Regiment's Band, the Shoulders a little straighter, the Chests a little more pushed out, the Heads a little higher & a real feel that it's just a little more "Together". Of course when we're talking SDM Chambers & The Band of the Irish Guards, there's also the Real Chance of seeing the Famous "Mick Swagger" come out, a Real Bonus.
A Great March List today & a Great Job by the Band. A personal Favourite March of mine, "Flying Eagle (Alderflug) a nice Bonus for me was Superb!.
The Detachment of Welsh Guards looked Very Smart on the March up to Windsor Castle, with some lovely Drill. There looks to be a bit of a Breeze on the High St which will take the Sting out of the Heat that's been about over the last week or so, which should make it a bit easier for everyone on Parade.
Thank You Lenny! Another Great Video to go into the Archives & put a Smile on my face.
@@vickyRoyalHistory You are most welcome dear 🤗
Hi Vicky, I’m catching up on just today’s videos (they feature our star DM after all!) Will resume the other form of contact soon.😉 Yep, I’m with you in being glad that the matching set of plumes are back together, ie Band of the Irish Guards with SDM Chambers of the Irish Guards. Who wouldn’t love a chance to see the famous “Mick Swagger”! I wonder though when the poor chap will get his leave, he’s still hard at it!
I enjoyed your favourite march too, though I rather liked the one after it too. Well it’s Friday here too now so I’d better go up the wooden hill! Take care lass☺️
@@AnnofWales21 Hi Ann! Yes indeed a Great Video! It put a Smile on my face for the Day. I'll have to dig out some of the Best "Mick Swagger Moments" for you, Shame we couldn't put together a Compilation Video of some of them, We would have no trouble making a Bob or 2 with that. Mind you all the Regiments & Bands have their "Signature Moves", I've seen some Good examples of the one from your Lads too Lol!! I haven't forgotten I O U a reply either but things have been Crazy Hectic here all week. Catch you soon!
Hello Vicky, I read your comment about "Mick's Swagger" or "Gareth Swagger", an elegant swagger: He looks so proud, so self-assured, relaxed and happy to lead his country-guards band, playing very beautiful marches! One more positive quality He has!! Let's hope he doesn't disagree. Have a nice thursday evening.
@@AlbaAlba-fg2io Hello Alba my friend! Sorry I'm so late replying, have been very Busy lately! Coming up to Mid Term Grading Exams & my Students have been driving me Mad with last minute requests for theory explanations Lol. Yes indeed, SDM Gareth Chambers MVO is Full of Excellent Qualities as a Drum Major, The Consummate Professional! It's no Wonder he is so many Peoples Favourite!
Take Care & Enjoy the Rest of your Week!
Now this is a Spiffing video! They played "Trafalgar"!! Just Spiffing! The Irish sounding Splendid as ever!
The marches played were,
1) 0:01-Trafalgar
2) 2:17-Guards Armoured Division
3) 5:23-National Emblem
(Return to Barracks)
4) 6:56-Flying Eagle (Adlerflug)
5) 10:45-Bond of Friendship
6) 14:39-The Rising of the Lark
@@delvinrodriguez3341 Big thank you 🤩
Oh my goodness Delvin, I do believe I’m learning (well, a bit anyway) I’m just flitting through and only had time to catch the first march and I recognised it and thought “Delvin! He’ll be pleased🥳” Will catch up on the rest later🤓
@@AnnofWales21 Hello Ann! Well done! Yes, I'm very delighted! Always great to hear my favourite march! Brings a smile to my face. Specially when it's the Irish playing it, they have a way to really make it sound fantastic! Specially The Side Drummer LCpl E. Smith (my favourite side drummer).
@@delvinrodriguez3341 hi Delvin, I’ve had a chance to watch it all now and yep, spiffing it was😎Lots of great marches and I’m chuffed I recognised “Trafalgar” before you named it😂. I have a question though and wonder if you can answer it, if you don’t mind. As it is Princess Anne’s birthday I rather thought the Drum Major would be in State Dress, is that correct? Perish the thought that there is likely to be any error (this is, after all, our star man and he’s always absolutely spot on) but I wondered if you would be able to explain🤔 Apart from that, hello Delvin, nice to be in touch again☺️
@@AnnofWales21 Hello Ann! My apologies for the late reply! But, to answer your question about SDM Chambers not wearing his State Dress. I couldn't exactly tell you as to why. Yes you are indeed correct, he was technically speaking supposed to be wearing it. But, maybe he forgot it? He's probably very busy preparing for his departure as SDM, so thing's might not be where they usually are! But, sadly I can't give you a concrete answer as of yet, and I do apologise! But, I'll ask around. I'm sure my connections might have something.
Smashing video Lenny. Beautifully clear and with excellent sound. I think my favourite bit is at around 7:07 when you can hear the band in the distance and then they sail majestically into view, lead by the already wonderfully described SDM Chambers (who could possibly disagree) But fair is fair, leading that superb band must make it easier for him to march so proudly!
Thank you for making and sharing this video👍
@@AnnofWales21 Thank you 🤩
Thank you Lenny and you found our favourite Drum Major. I hope you are well now.
@@mervwhitney7229 I am well now. Thank you 🙏

Good morning, Lenny. Great video as always and always a joy to see SDM Chambers and his professional style😊
@@charlottecunningham2141 Good afternoon dear Charlotte from Windsor. Thank you and have a great day 🤗
Yes, SDM Chambers is so stylish with his timing to the music. An absolute pleasure to watch , every time.
I can't understand why the DM wasn't in his State kit They usually wear it for royal birthdays and it was the birthday of one of the senior Royals today namely Princess Anne
Hi Charlotte, we “meet again”!☺️ My fellow fan😉 Hope you are well👍
@@AnnofWales21*waving furiously* hey there. Hope you are well
and..........again a 👍 for the nice video Lenny.....greetings !
@@muziekkorpsen-marchingbands Oh thank you. Glad you enjoyed it.
Greetings 🤩
Good to see SDM back leading the the band after there break my favorite DM
As an American, I love the National Emblem March!
👍👍👍🙋♂️🇳🇱
Looking at the SDM, I was wondering why he changed is gold sword knot back to the white one again? Anyone?
Well spotted! I hadn't until you pointed it out! Do you perchance know why he has the gold one in the first place? I wondered if it was in association with being awarded the MVO🤔
@@AnnofWales21 I wouldn't have thought so Ann, no matter what he's awarded, he still must Comply with Regulation Uniform Requirements. I would Hazard a Guess that the Gold Knot may have been from his Appointment as Senior Drum Major of the Division & replaced the White one that Warrant Officers normally wear, but I don't know that for sure. Seems Plausible to me though.
@@vickyRoyalHistory funnily enough I picked Delvin’s brain on this back in April when someone mentioned it on another post (possibly Facebook) The possibility of the gold being associated with the Senior appointment was mooted but then discounted as he could see no evidence of the previous incumbent (SFtz) wearing anything other than the white in any of the videos he looked at that were made during his tenure as SDM. Delvin was also perplexed I think, although he may have since shed more light on the matter . “Quite the mystery” were, I think, his words at the time🤔
@@AnnofWales21 With the Utmost Respect to Delvin & you know I worship the Ground Delvin-Pedia walks on, it may have been a change that's come about since (SFtz) time, Historic Visuals is not always a help when it comes to Big Bureaucracies & Institutions. I'll see if I can get an answer from my Contact at London HQ & let you know.
Hello, The Gold Sword Knots are usually worn by (WO1) and Officers, although the Officers wearing a more ornate ones. As a tradition when one held an appointment such as Bandmaster (BM), Band Sergeant Major (BSM), or Senior Drum Major one would get a gold sword Knot. Not because of Rank but because of the appointment. Recently this was changed and sword knots are now worn according to the wearers rank. SDM Gareth being a (WO2) now wears a white sword knot. Bandmasters and Band Sergeant Majors also went back to using their respective ranks sword knots. Hope this helps!
