I have 40 inch TOYO MT tires on my Prospector XL , I get around 15.5/16MPG with 36,000 miles.

I’m looking at Prospector XL now, trying to compare with TRX I own now. I do about 12 mpg with it. Not sure if 15-16 mpg is worth a hassle. But regular Cummins clearly gets higher mpg 🤷‍♂️

@ a regular Cummins will get 20+. In the AEV I’ve gotten 17.6 if I’m conservative driving below 75 and no towing.

Ok great info, thank you. AEV would be my preferred option, definitely not as fast as TRX but as overland build maybe it does make sense

Are you considering doing a tune of some kind? From what I have researched tuning will help with MPG but it does affect warranty.

    Good info.
Would you do a tire review on your Michelins? It’s hard to argue their performance, but in my experience, (which was early in the release of the Defender line) their famously long treadlife took a nosedive with the Defender line. I had them (LT E rated) on a ‘16 Tundra, and they wore to 1/2 life within 15k miles of easy driving.
Still hard to compete with their tread design: 5 rib tread pattern, wide circumferential grooves, open shoulder but tight grooves, tons of siping. That equals low rolling resistance when just cruising along at a steady speed and low throttle input, but then when you need traction (acceleration, braking, cornering, defensive maneuvering etc) the siping aids in that traction. It performs quite well in most conditions.
My factory Michelin AT2 tires are nearly done at 28k miles on my ‘21 GMC 3500HD (comparable driving to yours with towing, highway commuting). I have 5-6/32 remaining and I can’t burn them up fast enough. Great “performing” tire. Terrible tread life.

I have a ford f150. I got Michelins from Costco. I can't believe I've got 80k on them. And they have more tread than the ones that were on when it had 35k.

As the EPA tightens emission standards further, pretty soon an F150 may as well be a tank cruising down the highway. I also hear every US manufacturer is hiring the guy from those monster truck commercials to record the new truck horns. Soon we might be able to blast "FOOORRRD!" or "RAAAMM!" to go along with the 12" letters stretched across the tailgate.
