You guys are getting 'uptown' enough with your shop, it's time I laid come shop tech knowledge on ya. I had a dream shop in the '80's, building street rods, race cars of several flavors, and restoring antiques. We came by a Harrington jib crane real cheap, (scrap price), about the time we were ready to add 50% more floor space. We installed a floor hoist so the car would enter from the end of the building, and be along the left side of the new addition. We put the jib crane beside it, towards the middle of width of the shop. It was positioned so the end of the cross beam was aligned with the center of the floor hoist. Along the hoist side of the shop, beginning a couple of feet from where the car on the hoist's front bumper would be. Then, in the middle, at the end of the crane's reach, we built a peninsula bench, set at 90°. On the end of that bench, we mounted the rotating portion of an engine stand. Here's what a jib crane is. (If you don't want to look at an image, the jib crane we had was a 10" steel round tube post with a 8' long rotating I-beam. On the I-beam is a wheeled trolley, which the electric chain hoist is hung. It is THE setup for automotive. This is the brand and model we had: www.amazon.com/Harrington-Hoists-351-6000-8-12-Crane-Reach/dp/B01MA27RZQ The partnership in our dream biz didn't survive, (my partner's new gf had a conniving father who wanted me out of the picture; and he succeeded.), but the floor hoist, and Harrington jib crane is still in operation, in the same configuration in a different locale. I still have never seen a better engine removal setup than this. We could pull a car onto the hoist,, then pull either engine/trans or engine. Rotate the crane and set the engine/trans on penisula bench, and yank the trans before we disconnected the crane. The engine was moved to the bench mount engine stand. One guy can easily remove or install an engine or engine/trans. Oh, the other item you need is a good quality 1-1.5" rope to hang from the end of the cross beam of the crane. One hand on the electric hoist control, the other on the rope to rotate the crane. We put the crane toward the center of the shop, so we could swing it around, a different car parked 90° to the floor hoist, remove the body from the frame and set it down on a new frame, or a purpose built cart we made for frameless bodies, (we did frame off restorations of everything from Model A's to Fat Fender Ford PU's, to C10 Square Bodies. We even put a '53 Ford Fat Fender ON a '71 C10 frame one time, and it's still being driven, nearly 40 years later. The body was a bolt on, no mods, using the C-10 column. Had to make four bed mounts, cause only two lined up. It channeled the body perfectly to fill the big ass fenders, and with the addition of R&P, the old Ford ended ip with R&P, IFS & discs up front. (You should build one, I'll coach you through the details.) You need a jib crane, an electric hoist and 8' of rope. You now have the shop for it.

for real... its been awhile. And we have seen a few cars break lately I always wait for it haha
Plot twist: James LS swaps his new tool box
honestly ive heard it all now😂
and adds coil overs
gotta put that 632 in something
I'm sure the box at some point will have n.o.s. on it so don't worry
Adds nitrous
It should come with a few extra 10 mm wrenches and sockets.
Too bad the shelves dont have a door, but sweeeet!
I’m so excited for this month!!! Thankful for all of you guys and your hard work. Thanks for the awesome entertainment 😃
"We finally made somthing happen" is code for "We finally convinced them to give us some free stuff"......😂😂
Steve Murrell I mean that’s how it’s supposed to be, he’s advertising for them in a way that if it’s good enough for him, us as fans would think it’s good enough for us but yea he definitely got them for free lol 😂
drake lilwayne I completely agree, and look, it worked. I’m sure I’m not the only one here that’s thinking...”I really like that”.
Seeing as how that box itself is $1,000.... with out the tools in it....
@@kansaman1 try $2900. I really liked the box and was looking into it as a new roller cart for me... So I'd say their means of advertisement worked
@@kansaman1 No, it's $3000.
"It's the same way he puts in spark plugs"
-Coop
Straight savage. 🤣
Me: spends money on tools and has a nice car thats quick
Cleet: diverge all monetary sources to the cars.
Hf tools for the win tho.
Aydan Angus this is a weird comment
Zack Lance you’re a weird comment.
Snap-on should of got on board. James deserves good tools but shout out to Boxo for coming in clutch
yeah seriously. they already have the box, snap on missed out big, snap on taking it back and making a video fixing her up wouldve been so cool. but boxo is pretty neat. havent ever heard of them. but as somone who is in the market for a box soon... ill have to check them out...
@@someidot3699 bro might as well just buy snap on lol. Its gonna cost about the same lol
All Boxo tools and boxes are made in Taiwan and that makes me and a whole lot of bald eagles very sad.
@@theall-seeingpie8887 Don't look at where Snapon, matco, and others all get their tools made then.
@@BasedEMT1776 All of the Mac and Snap On hard tools, sockets ratchets wrenches etc are made in the US still. Matco has all their shit other than ratchets made in Taiwan and charges the same price at Snap On.
Contractor shit, special tools, anything plastic are all Taiwan and most are just re-branded anyways between all 3 companies.
Old school impact driver :-) James on top his game!
Good seeing Garrett being generous n genuine ;-) Also good seing the crew is genuine.
SALUTE!
I can't even tell you how excited I am for so many Cleetus videos. Thank you so much and Happy Birthday James
Bro has it already been 2 years since James came on board? I love him as a part of the team. He was a better choice than buying the Freedom Factory
James is definitely part of the core team, but buying your own racetrack also classifies as a great choice :p
Really class act taking care of James. Acts like this shows why you've gotten as far as you have.
James sure has come a long way since his first appearances on the camera
How about that baby smooth face on Cleet. Musta got up early to start the edit.
James is gonna be a happy camper. A true mechanic lives by his tools. Sweet toolbox. I love having a place for everything like that. Awesome that it has the worktop and vise. He deserves it! Nice!
The way James approached you guys all humble and smiling he deserves to take that home , negotiate another one cleetus
Cleetus = The FrontMan
James = The Mechanic
Cooper = The Agent, The Manager, The Public Relation Officer,
Reminds me of the 3 Harley Davidson's Founders
Snap On should replace all those drawer slides for free. That box is still worth some money
That's what I thought, they should be warranty.
Snap On tool boxes arent covered under the lifetime warranty.....just their hand tools
For sure. My shop manager just traded in that exact tool box for $2300.
@@369motoman I have a 30 year old Snap On box I bought used from the Matco man and they replaced 4 sets of drawer slides in it for free, maybe your guy isn"t as good as mine
Original owner only on tool box warranty... you got lucky I had to buy new slides for mine
Cleetus should consider reissuing the "James get the toolbox " shirt!
This vid kept a big smile on my face for James. I had all my tools stolen out my truck last summer it's heartbreaking. But glad James got some love!! Also do they share a shop with the Boosted boiz? N how much does a set of boxo cost?
Dang man it’s about time !!!
It sucks having to look / or don’t hav the tools to do the job!!!!!!
Good for James!!!!
the huge wrenches are for recovering lost tools from those who " use " them
There's a sticker on my box that says : If you value your life as much as I value THESE TOOLS, dont fuck with them!
That is one of most bad ass tool sets I've ever seen, and tool box, pretty sick.
And thus starts the best month of UA-cam ever from Cleetus 👍
about time James got the love he so deserves, this was an awesome vid to see!
Cleetus! Hear me out brother. Luxury apartments at the Freedom Factory. Could probably even find a real estate investor. Built in grand stands with views of the tracks. Race garages with built in lifts and air tanks.
I can only imagine how hard it’s going to be uploading everyday in May.. Huge thanks to you guys making this quarantine a little more tolerable!! 🤘🦅
This is an anger prevention tool box for James!
Send that snapon my way, it ain't nothing to replace the slides.
I dont know why they didnt just call the guy and have him deal with it. That's a benefit of paying out the ass for Snap-On and they are missing out.
@@MomJeans2 You forgot...this is an ADVERTISEMENT! Yeah, they get the tools for free, and they probably really did need the tools, but they get paid to make videos like this, plus they get to keep the tools. Oh, and probably they get paid for future videos where they show these tools, use them, and talk about them.
Nothing a shot of WD-40 can't fix it's the duct tape of lubricant. I have a shot of it every morning in my coffee....☕🚔🏁🇺🇸
@@MomJeans2 If you actually watch the video and listen they didn't pay for the snapon one. It sat in a barn for 15 years and then someone gave it to em.
Snap On will warranty the drawer sliders.
Well deserved. Ya'll are lucky to have James in your crew. Keep the talent happy. Love the vids, keep em coming..
“No more busting chromies apart” 😂😂😂
Were all guilty of that from time to time.
Just a heads up, those slides on your Snap-On box are lifetime warrantied. Your local Snap-On representative should replace them at no charge.
Yeah but won't coz Snap On SUX ass and has sucked for a long time now....
James Blanton says the dude who probably can’t afford it
They probably just need some lube.
Came for this exact comment 🤘🏻. If your rep sucks, call corporate. You'll get set up one way or another.
@@Knightmare-gz9ls Cool thanks for the tip.
“Thanks for watchin Do It For Dale, we’ll freakin see ya later.” Should be, we’ll freakin see ya tomorrow.
That one may be hard to pick up when you yell. “James get the tool box”.
I have the exact "old" snap-on box myself. FYI Snap-on will warranty those slides for free and it will be like new. But still an awesome gesture to give that new setup to James. Keep it up!
@Cleetus McFarland used to rock a tool cart similar to this!!!!! If you go with it set your air tools up on a decent line and make a "manifold" aka just some junk pipe put fittings on it (in and out... super simple) and its a legit setup. Air to your tool box and access for all your tools.
Cleet: "I have no clue what this is." James: hold my dew than proceeds to educate the masses.
Nitro Prime that impact driver set is the poo. No lie.
I looked on their website and couldn’t find the same box that Is in the video. But they some other sets that looked nice.
It's an essential tool for pick 'n pull trips
James is just a mechanical genius. Every tool in there he could explain exactly what it’s used for.
😂 wow he knows what tools do, c'mon man
Mechanics know how to use tools...its why they are called mechanics.
A hammer can be used to hammer things
Non car guy has entered the chat
It's more impressive to know when you need to use them.
Coop had me laughing when he said, “that’s the same way he puts in spark plugs” hahahaha
No joke, first nice day of the year here in michigan. Sitting by the window here watching this and my neighbor is outside working on his roof. He heard me laugh like a little girl at that.
🤣🤣🤣🤣
That's a sharp looking tool box for sure. Good job Cleetus...keep your boys happy.
You know a guy is happy and really needed something that he will appreciate when he cleans up the two microscopic specs of dust on the top
