The only positive to take from it for us is that, Arsenal’s massive joy at roundly beating us shows that we are seen as big PL title contenders by them.

Carragher is a pure hypocrite. Bitter because Liverpool finally lost one. He didn't say much when Klopp ran ON the pitch to celebrate a late winner in a Merseyside derby a few years ago. How dare Arsenal celebrate a very good win for them.
To be fair, the one against Everton was last minute goal in the season where that result, along with the Utd result was the final nail in the coffin to say that we were going to win the league. On Sunday, you were already 2-1 up with an extra man so when he did what he did, the game was already won and it wasn’t a “out of the blue last minute winner @ so you can’t really compare the two. Carra will sound like a bitter loser but some of the celebrations were too much. The arteta thing isn’t an issue for me but the odegaard camera thing was a bit ott. It’s the kind of thing you do if you win a trophy. It was a bit embarrassing for you but it was just one player. Everyone was pumped up and they needed it. Everyone can celebrate a big win like that but odegaard showed that arsenal have a inferior complex in terms of being a trophy winning team. The level of jubilation with odegaard was like a sign that they can compete…
@@mark4045 That Merseyside derby where Klopp classlessly ran on the pitch was in December 2018. No final nail in a coffin is put in in December, anyway managers are not supposed to leave their technical area let alone enter the field of play during a game. I'm not an Arsenal fan but can't believe the amount of Liverpool fans being all high and mighty trying to tell them how they should celebrate a win when that's up to Arsenal. Liverpool players infamously and a touch embarrassingly celebrated a 2-2 draw with West Brom all holding hands in front of the Kop not too long ago.

The only thing I mentioned was the camera with odegaard. That was as if they had just won a trophy. If arteta wants to do what klopp does and do the fist pumps then that’s up to him. I couldn’t care less about that. The camera thing was a bit cringe given it was just a win and 3 points. Ye it was a big game and it meant that arsenal were still in the race but it was just one game and 3 points and they were still in 3rd place… that’s the only thing that I thought was a bit embarrassing.

Arsenal fans bringing out a reflexive volatile action of sptting ( yes! imagine if it was actually something serious) years ago to settle a debate of celebration is the most Arsenal thing ever. There are geniuses, normal IQ people, intellectually challenged and then these folks.
Jorginho is fantastic in big games when the opposition also want to dominate the ball. He thrives under these circumstances, remaining calm on the ball and occupying the right spaces. However, playing Jorginho in every game from now until the end of the season is not necessarily the answer. For instance, when faced with a low block at the Emirates, it may benefit Arsenal more to play with a single pivot in Rice.

Agree with Arsenal legend Ray Parlour that the double-winning team in 2001/2002 was absolutely fantastic- his goal in the FA Cup final was the cherry of the cake. Even more spectacular winning the league and cup double than in 1997/1998, since they were able to carry that form into the following season where they fell just short to Man United. Most people remember the invincibles but winning the league and cup double was no small feat, not to mention twice. Amazing.

I don't dislike the idea of Martinelli being more central and direct. Often he ends up running out of room or taking on to many players to get into the box so having him more in and around it with his finishing ability sounds like a good option. I definitely really like Ray's idea about switching Saka and Martinelli more in games. Given how much teams double and even triple up on Saka it would be interesting to suddenly see them flip it around and how well prepared teams would be for that on the other side.

I don't understand why Jesus gets all this criticism. Does the team in his present set up create many chances for him? I don't see him missing an inordinate amount of chances to be fair, would like to see some goal conversion rate stats for him. His touches in the box are so limited he often has to come out of position to create for other players. Arsenal buying any other so called top striker will suffer the same fate in my view. Arsenal is playing a style akin to that of City's and we will have seen in their games as well Halaand sometimes having a derth of touches in the entire game, even with him being a massive point man for the team.
But I cannot agree with Pierce's idea of how the team should be set up. Ray's idea of periodic switching of wingers is more plausible inducing more crosses an opportunities for who ever is striking.
