EMT here. That symptom called club fingers. It's usually a sign of low blood-oxygen lvls. This can be seen from chronic disease relating to the heart and a few other diseases. The most common is lung cancer. If he gets checked out regularly every year, he should know what's happening. But if he doesn't, he should go to a doctor and get lab work done.
