Thank you, back home it Oz now ;o) I am happy you like the video..
Steve
Wonderfully professional and well-spoken teacher.
Thank you 🙏
So glad I found this: all the others I’ve watched are taking the pith😉😘
The candied peel is lovely! I made a test batch and my huband ate it all up, some with chocolate, some without. So this week, time to make a nice big batch. I'm giving away jars of chopped candied peel and some made into chocolate covered peels. Thanks for your easy-to-follow recipe!
Steve you are a genius. So good to make candied peel like my grandmother used in her biscuits etc. I am only 83 and starting at old age😅
Nave to late to try new ideas :o)
No doubt this is the best CANDIED PEEL recipe.
I used your recipe because it does not require adding more sugar. I was already making simple syrup for cocktails. Now I get to use all my lemons and orange peels. Thanks
I am looking forward to trying this recipe! I appreciate the quality of the video. The speech is so clear, directions are clear. Perfect, thank you :)

Find Tupperware orange peeler makes life easy.
Also soda can push tab with ring still on makes great peeler as it just deep enough. 😉
Thank you Steve. So simple and clear.
My Grandmother used to put small cut up bits of candied oranges in scones, they were so delicious!
What a delightful tutorial on making candied peel. And the aromas from preparing candied lemon is so divine. Thank you sir!💓🍋💓

This video is great! I've perused a few different recipes and videos on this topic, and yours was by far the most informative. I especially appreciate your tips on peeling the oranges with the back of a spoon.

Nice and easy lovely
I just happened across this page because I can never peel the orange as you did Steve (cutting off the edges and rolling it out)...now I CANNOT wait to try this, which I will this weekend!
Thank you very much!!! Grazie Mille!! For this fantastic video.
I love your style, and the way you make it & explain each detail!! I just bought lots of orange & will make candied orange peels by your recipe right now!!
You are most welcome.. ;o)
If you have the orange peel scorer from Tupperware, which I remember was super popular in the 1970’s (at least here in Norway) - that makes it super easy to score your citrus peels too… 🤗🍊🍋🍊🍋🍊🍋
I had that at one time.
thanks it will help me a lot
Terrific, especially with the dark chocolate!
i really enjoyed your video, i wrote down EVERYTHING you did ! plus i saved your video, i really was happy about you showing a different way to peel the fruit. ive watched 4-5 different videos on this subject and you are the only one who peeled your fruit with the handle of a spoon ! tryed it and i gotta say it was extremly easier then some of the other ways i have watched. thank you for taking the time to show us a better and different way to do this. im excited to get busy with my fruit piled up on the counter....
I’ve never had candies peel but I might give it a try
Great recipe!
I love lemon pound cake with with the glaze and candied lemon peel on top.
Im loving it
Thanks
Trying it with added Pomelo, will report, many thanks for a great method / recipe.
Great!
This looks lovely! I have already cut up some tangerine and pomelo peel, can't wait to try it out!
Also thank you for showing a variant where I won't have to coat them with extra sugar at the end
Welcome, I feel the extra sugar makes them too sweet and for sure a lot less wholesome.
This saved my Christmas! There wasn’t a drop of peal in the stores in Canada! All sold out! I bought oranges, lemons, and limes and now I will never buy peal again. Thanks so much ❤️👍🏼
Excellent !!!!
Thanks
The pith is healthy for you! Lovely tips, Steve!
I suspect it is :o) Thanks
I have been making it for years ever since I read the ingredients and chemicals in the store bought stuff! Much healthier and I save my peels in the freezer until I have enough, then make a big batch, chop it in the food processor and freeze in bags. Wonderful for Teacakes, buns, fruitcakes etc and cost next to nothing!
I have a special peeler for citrus fruit. Thanks for the recipe, I will do it! Right now simmering grapefruit peel for a health tonic.
Good luck, hope they are Delicious.. :o)
@@Steve-Owens I'm obsessed with making candied peels now, so good! 😚👌🏼
Thank you, Steve. I’ve been wanting to find a good recipe for candied orange peel. I found some very good homemade style in a store recently, here in California, which is a rarity. And, I’ve been wondering .... thank you, again...

Thank you, great recipe. Can the leftover syrup be used for anything?
It tends to be a little sour, try it and decide for yourself.. It's perfectly safe :o)
Yummy 😋
Beautiful indeed 👏👏👏👏👏😁. I will do it to make a panettone.
:o) Enjoy
I like this recipe . I also like your jacket !
Thanks 😊
Great Video. I´m looking forward to the panattoni, will definitely make it. I hope your video comes in time to buy the ingredients and make it ;)
I hope so.. ;o)
This is really cleaver
Great
Wow great advise for less sugar
Good recipe,thanks for sharing
Lol, I've made Panettone this week and run out of peel now. The last time I had what I class as really good peel, it was from a market stall in Italy (and cost a fortune!) Oddly, here citrus peel is not sold everywhere (silly people!) but they sell whole candied fruits - which are largely tasteless. I'd have to travel 20 km just to get some... So I now have orange, lemon, pink grapefruit and lime simmering away. The smell is beautiful!
Superb. I hope you enjoy them when they are done. Thanks
@@Steve-Owens Brilliant! Just what I wanted. So this morning I was wondering what to do with all the fruit...so I have now made a pot of Ginger Citrus Jam. See, no waste at all!
Cool Recipe! :)
Thank you.
I loooooved the video, it’s very clear and simple, i was looking for ways to do it bc I kept failing, the peels stayed way too bitter and I didn’t know what to do 😪😪
I tried it las week and they turned out awesome!!!
Nice.. Well done and thanks
Sir, I really loved the way you did the candied peels. 😊
I also don't remove the pith - and I love the idea of NOT adding more sugar to the item.
and drying in the oven.
Thank you for sharing your recipe with us.
👍😊💐🇨🇦
PS : I will check your Panettone recipe too. 😊
Thank you Summer 😊
@@Steve-Owens,
my pleasure, after drying l dipped the peels in chocolate and boy they are simply delicious. 😊 🍊
