this requires proper planning practices. This comes with community participation. In India planning is done at the behest of politicians and planning office drawing board and forcefully implemented on the community in the end. So, no one know its implications and hence do not comply with them. Instead, they go to court, bribe authorities or local politicians do things that goes against what is planned. This is fact and proper planning principles needs to be adopted and practiced meaning community participation mandatory before going with a plan. When they agree they may not only adopt they may also support when needed.
Here is the problem.. it is ingrained in our culture to talk things up, paint a picture ten times rosier than it is… that is how we respond to criticism… and combine that with making heroes out of market participants.
If an indian taxi driver with good english speaking skills, exchange his job with RBI director, then it won't have much impact on the growth story of india.
PM Modi will not listen to anybody except Mr Amit Shah. I do not belong to any political party in India. PM Modi is not able to do anything inspite of 11 years in power . For example, failed to bring electoral reforms, control of population by giving good incentives to people , controlling high political corruption, uniform civil code, controlling inflation etc etc. One nation one tax, one nation election, Simplification of taxes, removing of licence raj, Controlling political corruption are many a thing to be implemented urgently in India.
Modis problem is that he has co-opted the bureaucracy. Which means he cannot fight them. It was probably necessary at one point, you can't pick fights with everyone. Now it seems to have become a comfort zone.
If anyone in India still thinks that one leader at the center can transform this country, they are in fools paradise. A country is a sum total of its people, culture, beliefs, social norms etc. There is no blue pill or red pill here. This expectation of Modi or Rahul or Kejriwal or X Or Y will lead and transform is unrealistic or totally against the reality. All Indians should first realize (not understand, there is wide difference between understanding and realization) that collective consciousness of people can bring the first step to change and this change in behavior and mindset can lead to big transformation. India need 29 Lee Kuan Yew to transform this country into a developed nation - politically, economically, and socially. 28 States CMs and 1 PM. Such is the expectation of vastly diverse nation of culture, languages, religion and traditions. So we have leadership scarcity and a lack of vision as a nation. Until that time, we are a wrong example of democracy and 'Unity in diversity' is a mere slogan.
If President Trump can do many things in America, why PM Modi cannot do in India? PM Modi is ultimate power in India and Indian President is having zero powers and appointed by PM of India .
Manish Sabharwal ji exemplifies what an intellectual ought to be - someone with real skin in the game, who cares deeply for the country and its people, and is able to articulate important ideas in a way that is understandable to everyone. Manish ji has spoken about employment, economy, policy reforms on many podcasts - here on Bharatvaarta, he is at his best - talking about why we must get rid of our Regulatory Cholesterol if we have to achieve our dream of Viksit Bharat. The conversation starts with historical precedence for why the Indian State functions the way it does and then we move on to Manish ji’s prescriptions including easing business compliance, labour law reforms, and formal job creation. Tune into this podcast for wonderful insights on India’s growth story >> ____ Thank you to Sharan, Thiru, Gunjan, Jacob, Hatim, Ritesh and the rest of the team for putting this together, It takes a LOT of work to create quality content, if you would like to support us - please share this with your friends and family. 🙂🙏
Manish speaks very well and it is a pleasure to listen to him. I think maybe it was him or someone else who suggested that we could simply change the definition of a small industry to include anything up to 1000 employees. If the netas and babus and so called intellectuals won't let us reform the labour laws then let us just game the system as a temporary fix.
Excellent and indepth conversation on the clear and Present issues facing our economy, governance and business culture. English definitely is an Operating System ...Text of this episode must be available outside the excerpt s.

Kindly show a reference to his statement about Chinese market capitalisation at -13% whereas India's market capitalisation increased 1300%. Perhaps a try to mix stock market valuation with index valuation is at place.
It was the dynasty which ruled for 60 years, imagine if we had better growth in these years, there would not have been no poverty, and we should have been a 10 to 15 trillion dollar economy, with no poverty to get votes for the dynasts to keep them in power and perpetuate poverty for the next elections
@@dtmmm GDP doubled, road network almost doubled, manufacturing output almost doubled, startups increased by over 100x, 100% electricity coverage, almost 100% toilet and gas coverage, basic sanitation, digitalisation of the entire economy + public services, rail network added more than Germany and swiss combined, massive renewable energy push, military modernisation, cultural awakening, 370, NRC, CAA, reforms to bankruptcy code, GST, NEP and so on. Modi is not perfect but much better than that deep state Italian dynasty that ruined the country.
@@ym276 are you drunk? There is actually zero growth in the last 10 years. Compare the growth rate of Moti's 10 years with Manmohan's growth rate. In Manmohan Singh's time GPD grew 183%, in Moti's time it is actually zero not 100%, even if you consider 100% it's still way lower than Manmohan singh.
@ If you ignore the covid pandemic, the average growth rate is the same. But you should be looking at the relative growth compared to other world economies. India was the slowest BRICS economy during Manmohan while the whole world was booming during globalisation. While India has been the fastest growing world economy during Modi. Can you refute any of the objective facts I mentioned in the previous comment? Manmohan destroyed national security, destroyed the financial sector with NPAs, banking system collapsed, investment got ruined by dodgy laws, scams every other week
DOGE is a necessity in India. Reduce government size leads to reduced expenditure and tax. Most PSUs can be divested. The solution is so simple, yet the government mon😢ster cannot let go of its power, but keeps increasing it leading the country into abyss.
India's growth is being killed by the rubbish judiciary that we have. When businessmen are looted by the goondas, police won't do anything. Then even the police come for bribes. Then comes the bureaucrats led to systematic loot like licence, tax, random regulations etc. why are you expecting a prosperous India, in the first place ? 😂
It appears that reforms have stalled in India. Without labor and agriculture reforms, the growth rate will be around 6 - 6.5 %, which will not create sufficient jobs. Where is the courage and boldness to reform like Modi did in his first term ( GST, bankruptcy laws, etc.)?
RBI, Finance Ministry, PM & FM with unreform minded babus in Finance Ministry and various IRS, IAS and of course Modi and Popcorn Nirmala with tax extortion on Income tax and GST creayed the mess
It needs to be defined what is GDP calculation for each country - not tge definition of globalists and imperialists - but by people themselves. In india, if a family lives in a rural area but grows its own veggies and tends to its own chicken, barters the products with other people of his area e.g barber, milkman etc, then this does nit reflect anywhere on GDP, but the population is not subsisting on zero income and they are happy without having to fit into any parameter of GDP calculation. The sooner each country defines forr itself it's formula for gdo, they can prosper better. If gdp measures only organized work and output of a country then it is laughable and we are carrying that definition since last century
The crying baby gets the first attention. This is true in most of the northern states, whereas the southern states are largely self-sufficient hence being neglected. This is evident from FRPM allocations by the central government.
You’re the clown doesn’t know basic economics. In city an electrician got more pay than in village because the cost of living differs at various factors that need to be considered. All cities of India are equivalent to unplanned slums. City municipalities are incapable of maintaining and planning internation level cities.

Absolutely and its high time we criticise our municipalities than blaming central government for every problem we face daily
