The architect of Morden China Deng Xioping introduced free quality education and healthcare for all Chinese by 1990 and today they are the largest economy in the world in PPP terms. We do not need to reinvent the wheel
Indian government despite calling itself a democracy always adopted a top down approach. India invested most of its education budget into IITs, NITs, IIMs & AIMS etc instead of improving the quality of primary & secondary education. China despite being a single party state did the opposite. They fixed their primary & secondary education before fixing the territory level. The result is China today.
China is also more democratic in resource allocation to Panchayati Raj ( local governments). Unlike China most of so-called democratic India's tax money is sitting with the Central government and state governments where 98% of people don't live.

As a result strongmen who promise to fix every issue, convert complex issues into simple talking points, malign institutions and villfiy opponents are finding resonance in broken societies.

Here’s how the algorithm of life in India seems to work: A. Are you from a wealthy business or political family? Congratulations-there’s no better place than India for you. B. If not, but you’re a first-generation wealth earner with a sharp mind, aim for government services. India will still be the best place for you, with benefits like pensions, housing, and subsidized education. C. If that’s not an option, consider private sector work, but only as an independent consultant, entrepreneur, or in professions like doctors, lawyers, or CAs where you have more control over your income. D. If none of the above works, catch the first flight out. Staying back means becoming nothing more than a tax machine for the government. Even with a ₹60-70 lakh package, you’ll lose nearly 50% to taxes and surcharges. Add to this the stress of keeping the job, inflated property prices, and sky-high education costs, and what’s left is a life burdened by EMIs and little quality of life. If you have the choice, leave. You can always return when things improve-though that seems unlikely for the next couple of decades.

I don't understand why media houses still produce such content and people still give these kinds of interviews rather than profiting off of cheap entertainment and religious fanaticism cause anyways nothing gonna change until the majority of people want this. I've seen fanatical youths declaring India as a super power while living in a jhopdi and eating government distributed food just because they've seen some politicians claiming so. Rather than investing in education they are busy with religious fanaticism. You think these states will grow? Are you kidding 😂 Why would they do it the hard way if they can simply produce more babies and get almost a hundred fold returns on their contribution. Although I don't fully trust my state government, but I'd rather have the money for myself rather than giving it to some other state just so they can produce more babies and fill our state with their kin. Northern India is a mess and not only the politicians the people are a bigger mess and you can't expect to have decent politicians from there since they are also coming from that background, the people don't want prosperity they want more madness, so don't expect India to change anytime soon. A.

Best discussion after long on the print.
I heard it somewhere, "if you want to solve a problem, the first step to so it is, acknowledging it!"
Indians are known for their tendency to engage in whataboutry and blabbering.
I'm from a state that gets less than what we contribute to the central government fund and our state is ridden with Biharis, they take our money and invest in their state while leeching off of our state resources. I'm planning on leaving the country asap, wish me luck guys.
We are where we are and where we will remain is because of caste centric politics and social culture where perpetuating caste dominance is the main focus and not social upliftment for all.
bold, real bold from Print!
As a small buisness owner, it takes 4 months and numerous complaints, online complaint filing to get a commerical electric connection in North India. Fssai has a website but they deny unjustly and you have to go to an agency to get it done. The bureaucracy is painstakingly corrupt and slow. There is no point making websites if the people who operate and approve have the same corrupt and latahrgic attitude. They wont deny but they will delay so you give them a bribe yoirselves😂😂. This is the indian babu mindset.
Most inefficient, incompetant and callous communal govt
Govt is not the problem. We are. Ask yourself do you follow traffic rules, do you honk unnecessarily, do you litter thinking it’s a small thing?
My city has no public transportation at all.
Guess, all Print is not right wing apologist.
Truth is Harsh! These 10-15 years would be noted as Squandered Years despite the mandate
A Bengali economist is like a Marwari poet. Neither can be taken seriously.
Then explain why only Bengalis have won the Nobel laureate in economics?… you’re talking absolute bullsh1t
What's the use of Nobel laureate when there are no jobs created and every educated Bengali is moving to Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad etc.
@ what a pathetic mentality to have. And what correlation does being an educated Bengali have with development in WB? Are you that stupid you don’t understand that it’s the government, not some random esteemed economist (who is a civilian), to bring jobs and industry to the region? You’re not even supporting your original argument you’re just expressing your grievances and blaming educated Bengalis when it’s the governments fault to begin with. Idiots like you make having a conversation near to impossible
Look beyond his initial ranting last few minutes are good.
Rithin Roy spoke facts. Instead of accepting reality, people are more interested in dreaming about a great future without putting in any effort to say, live a decent life today. Be it from Govt side or people's side, no sincere efforts. Although, we have skill and assets, it's not being utilised in an organised way.
South India is equally corrupt. There is not a single state in the southern states which is not corrupt. North India gets more limelight so the corruption is visible. Corruption is not an impediment to any development.
what an eye opener!! I hope you are not banned by system and such conversations can come to us freely!!
23:48 He was brutally honest here 😅
Extremely insightful and enlightening interview 👍👍
The gross state domestic product (GSDP) of Uttar Pradesh has increased significantly over the last decade. In 2024, Uttar Pradesh's GSDP was about 25 trillion Indian rupees, which is a significant increase from 2012 when it was about 7 trillion rupees.
India's GDP data are very likely to be fake. Even when data size is small there are discrepancies in the data then how do you expect whole economy's data collection is accurate. For example look at India's national weather service IMD. They can't even register proper temperature data which is just one small dataset and you expect whole economy's data collection is accurate.
Now discount it with headline inflation
@@udayviruppal3730 And population growth
UP has grown 4.5-5% in real terms. Which is less than India’s rate of growth.
So even with a small base of GDSPper capita it hasn’t done well
WhatsApp university figures hai kya?
One of the best talks on Indian economy.
Modi needs 80 billion dollars annually to give handouts to poor and destitute , that money comes from Income tax and gst payers . Only 3% are skilled to get a job that pays a PF and eligible to pay tax
He only talks in rhetoric not reason. What a waste of time. All the so called issues he raised are already well know to any rational person, there is not an iota of originality here. What even are the solutions he discussed? Its all hawabaazi. But ig anything for the views.
India is a superpower. STOP criticise India leading by Great Modi and his mates such as Adani group.
Government not at all interested in making India a superpower bcz it has diverted all its power in making India a hindu rashtra 😅😅
That's a glaring truth. Our Main Stream Media is roped in to do the Hindutva talks 24/7.
And the funny thing is we are already a hindu rashtra, but a very very poor one
-Government controlled temples
-Colonial leftover institutions and systems
-Bad infrastructure and cities
-Mediocre military power
-Negative PR worldwide
Just rants about the problem, and no practical solution is presented. This is a typical problem of a discussion in India with these idealists.
Change your medication.... Seriously!
@@virenrathore3191 Take a Gelusil.. and digest.. Seriously yours!
And he compares city traffic congestion with economy. Former is responsibility of municipalties which are corrupt.
Whole world says india is the bright spot of the world but print is anti national 😂 Vande Mataram
Spitting facts
Major problem for Nort India investment could be lack of global language skills slowly spreading to down south. people refused to accept the global language as medium of communication. Success of the TN and KA came form the acceptance for English
No one speaks english in China or Japan, in Europe they do everything in their native language. The issue is manufacturing. Which has nothing to do with what you speak.
This coming from a guy who was is osrp who's job was to advice the govt on this since 2004 till 2014 , wtf were doing then . This is a guy who is pissed at the osrp lossing it's monopoly. The guy needs a shave
There are many people in this country who genuinely wish to see India rise to great heights in terms of economy, culture, and technology but the ideas around religious dogma, handouts, and even superstition appear to be more compelling due to low income and education levels among the large portion of our population.
The mindset has not change drastically among the political class and bureaucracy. Those who wish to innovate are seen as threats to the status quo of drudgery and rotten undergrowth of inefficiency and corruption.

There are roads in Delhi which if you saw you won't believe exist in a country which sees itself as China's competitor and world's fifth largest economy and wants multipolar Asia.
