Thank you for the very helpful video! I have a question regarding the difference between hypertensive retinopathy and diabetic retinopathy, the pathophysiological mechanism seem to be a bit similar, ischemia is present in both retinopathies, so I don't understand why don't we see cotton wool spots or papilledema in diabetic retinopathy, or a proliferative neo vascularisation in hypertensive retinopathy?
Thank you se much.
I can't answer your question totally but cotton wool spots are seen in non proliferative diabetic retinopathy
Macular Star is seen in hypertensive retinopathy , exudates in Diabetic Retinopathy tend to take ring or clump configeration
It's also to do with the location of the damage. Diabetic retinopathy affects the middle retinal layers whereas hypertensive retinopathy affects the superficial retinal layers. Hope this somewhat helps :)
excellent! Thanks
Thank you !
