Love Kudoke, I remember seeing their watches for the first time a couple of years ago on The Limited Edition website, and being blown away by the attention to detail and the quality. There's so many more brands like this out there - Horage, Garrick, Sartory Billard, Ophion, Felipe Pikullik... You honestly could make this a regular series of unsung watchmaking.
Definitely more on these craftsman. The world is full of info on Rolex, Patek and AP. Customization is the new frontier. Make the big boys go back to their roots and offer it to customers. Rolex use to allow for one off customization, co-labs and such. So did Patek. Smaller brands are pushing the envelope and the big guys are noticing. That’s where innovation will reach the masses. Love the price point for his watches. You can also change the dial color. Great video!
The general trend of companies, including watchmakers, unfortunately is to figure out how they can make their job easier and squeeze as much money from their customers. A strategy that is very profitable but doesn't go hand in hand with a quality product. Crazy to think that this strategy can be applied to luxury as well, but it can.
I must admit it. You got me in this rabbit hole of microbrands and artisans, and while the journey gets better and better, I'm in awe. I mean, Shrek's Puss-in-boots-eyes awe. I'm seriously considering selling all of my major pieces and diving entirely in this world of exclusivity for a good reason, not because of hype. I recently purchased a Studio Underd0g because of you. Or better, thank to you. Can't wait it arrives...
Mind blown! Absolutely beautiful, and you've now put this brand I'd never heard of on my radar. The carving is stunning to look at, now I need to sell some watches!
Fantastic. Looking at Kudoke also led me to come across Lang & Heyne, which also look interesting (they share a retailer in Aus). I’m not sure what Lang & Heyne’s story is, but at first glance they seem strangely unheralded. At the other end of the price range I also stumbled across Botta design, who make some interesting titanium quartz watches. It’s definitely not all Rolex and swatch group out there. Lots of interesting options and stories and Kudoke is right up there in terms of quality and value.
This is my favorite kind of video from you guys, not Rolex Rolex Rolex, but look what we found hidden in this corner that's going to blow your mind and set your heart on fire. ❤️❤️🔥
Wow!! That's the most amazing video you've done so far since I watch this channel. That's why I love watchmaking as well, stories and beautiful esthetic ❤️ Please, more like this!!
Very glad to see features on independent and smaller brands among the giants of watchmaking. I’ve only known of Kudoke for a short time prior to this video; your presentation of them made my appreciation all the greater. Well done, as per usual!
Exceptional finishing, looks. I love my K2 one of the first made with blue dial. I did order plain movement with minimal engraving and my initials on balance cock. To my surprise Stefan did full engraving on movement. I couldn’t be happier when I seen it for first time. ❤❤❤
This represents everything I hold dear about watchmaking. This is how I imagine Louis Brandt started with Omega. These kind of people, keep watchmaking alive.
Do agree that some micro-brand do make really nice watch, however do encounter some issues with micro-brand. 1- after sale service. Some are only doing sale online as they do not have retail shop, the warranty is as good as none. Once u bought the watch u r on your own. 2- Most micro-brand do collect 50% or more on purchase and some u only received the watch in about 2-3 year down the road. It's like giving the company a interest free loan for their development. 3- The price of micro-brand, some r way above what they are compare to the main stream. 4- they alway market their items as limited edition, yet issue another same model in different colour in 6 month down the road.
excellent work! i love hearing about these kind of companies- these are truly phenomenal. for another episode, i'd like to know more about the ikler family of businesses. i aquired a defakto eins (single hand) a couple years ago & it's a very unique design. i believe it's a one-man brand, & they're very german, & quite nice.
The name of the company sounds quite Japanese. Kudō is a form of martial arts and the suffix -ke would be something as a “house of” … Which basically isn’t that far off because what Stefan Kudoke does requires comparable levels of commitment and discipline as a master in martial arts, albeit in a totally different discipline 😁
watching watchfinder over the last year, i want to start my own brand, so many ideas, so much more understanding of watches but it's depressing to see that some watchmakers spend 30 years crafting their skill, does that mean there's no hope or that i should just partner with some with the skill and be the pilot and express my creativity through them
Fantastic watches and amazing quality. My only pet peeve as a designer is the logo. I would much prefer if they had an icon representing Kudoke, instead of the in-your-face text. That would make the dial feel a lot more harmonious imo.
at around $15,000-20K per watch it's not really forget rolex and omega is it. That statement sort of means to me that this would be a more inexpensive yet quality alternative but it's actually a direct competitor price wise to a lot of Omegas and a few rolexs.
Yes, the need to mention Rolex and Omega for clicks is annoying. Then we learn astonishly little about the specs of this watch. Felt more like an advert for a nice family watchmaker, lots of poetry without much substance.
Nothing wrong with microbrands tremendous workmanship goes into them , I have kept with household brands for one reason parts are still available I have a 1964 model and can still get the parts still time to change my mind
Personally I would change the name, which sounds like a brand sold on Wish. And to mount it at 3 o/c, on a plinth? I'de change that to a printed logo on the dial. Everything else is 100% IMO
Incredible watches. Based on your description of their mission and ethos I was expecting 4-figure watches, rather than 5 figures. But, I’d be hard pressed to say that the craftsmanship and design don’t justify prices in the $10-$15k range.

Felipe Pikulik is insane! ❤

Please keep up sharing the smaller and unknown brands. Awesome channel
I freaking love Kudoke. Why would you buy anything else at the price when you can have such artistry on your wrist?
Because it's only available in small number of places? I'm having a problem getting an Orient here, man
Do you have one? What did you pay for it? :)
Love it when you cover these independent gems. Loved the one on Ming.
Kudoke and Laine are my favorite $10k watches in terms of finishing, thanks for featuring them.
Really stunning watches, but oh my God, does the placement of ratchet, barrel and balance complete give the name “balance cock” deeper meaning.
lol glad to not be the only one to notice
Thank you for this video. Absolutely love learning about these independent makers. Keep them coming!
Andrew was amazing. I prefer his voice, approach and humor
The movement is very suggestive.
on another episode of "watches I will never own, just admire" :D kidding aside, such gorgeous watches

masterpice... i love Kudoke, unfortunately a bit out of my budget otherwise I would have all of his gems in my collection
Been at their studio... Such nice people, such incredible watches 😍
HOLY C...P!!! K1 LOOKS AMAZING!! I can't remember when I fell in love so fast in a watch!!
I guess I'll have to do my 60-90 day waiting
Exceptional finishing, looks. I love my K2 one of the first made with blue dial. I did order plain movement with minimal engraving and my initials on balance cock. To my surprise Stefan did full engraving on movement. I couldn’t be happier when I seen it for first time. ❤❤❤
Amazing love these independent brands. I'm selling most of my old big brand watches because of the value you can get with these guys
Kudoctopus is my new grail. Coolest watch I’ve ever seen.
some see an ice cream cone, some see something else
This represents everything I hold dear about watchmaking. This is how I imagine Louis Brandt started with Omega. These kind of people, keep watchmaking alive.
This was a great video! Thanks for shining the spotlight on small producers like this who are doing amazing work.
Someone really wants that audition for ‘Top Gear’, methinks.
Kudoke are one of my favorite German watch brands. Their movements look very phallic though 😆
I would appreciate more brequet! That magnetic suspension seems perfect for a deep dive.
There are some beautiful "handmade one-offs" available from eBay, complete with complimentary masala chai tea.
Stupendous: Watch & Video. I cast my dispersion at thee, Rolex and Omega!
I love this brand, thank you 🙏 for bringing awareness to it!
outstanding,,,,, what skill to have,,, love those Kudoke watches
Costs for those curious are between 10-14k euros....

We are actually over 8 billion people atm rather than close to 8 Billion. Love the videos !
Thank you for these videos. I love looking at watches with everyone else who watches these!
5:18 That errant fiber on the crystal setting off the OCD.
This is what passion looks like

Beautiful watches.
Stunning watch at an amazing price point. Only issue with that gorgeous movement is that it resembles a certain phallic object.
The kudoktopus is amazing!
"If you had a go, you'd probably hate it." Shows how well you know me. You don't know me 😤
Why screws around the balance wheel ? This causes eddy currents and are not needed with modern metals . Annular is more slippery
The K1 is sublime, and if I could afford it I’d definitely get one.
The name of the company sounds quite Japanese. I've never wondered if I wanted an octopus watch, but the answer turns out to be yes
My K2 has a special place in my heart 🖤💛
Not my style but still wonderful watches. Thanks for introducing them.

Yes - more on independent craftmen(women) like this!
It‘s great that you‘re covering small independent brands. Kudoke makes fabulous watches.
I received my Kudoke 2 earlier this year after Stefan and Ev concepted the movement then crafted it over 11 months. It’s great.
If you don't mind, was the final cost? Thanks.
@@riceoobxg I believe around $22k plus import taxes.
That K1 is really beautiful. Simplicity at it’s best. It was easy to guess from beginning that style was not Swiss.
Lucky enough to own a K2 with the salmon dial. Beautiful watch.
how much was it?
@@divyamgoel6629 about $12K
Great vid, as of a month ago there’s more than 8 billion people btw.
Those are bloody lovely, and a sensible case size too
Never heard this brand before, so thanks for sharing it and doing more like this. Lovely pieces 👍🏻
A remarkable timepiece for the money.
Craftsmanship. Talent.

Astonishing work. Wow.
Get yourself a sundial and understand that now your time Is precisely perfect
Being featured here, Stephan will probably have his hands full for the next 2 years. Congrats!
Yeah and octopuses are aliens in fact.
*No, but put on Earth by visitors who don't inhabit Planet Earth* 🌎
One of the most sensitive, intelligent and particular creation
How come they don't have this color model on their website ?
The old Stef & Ev trick !
More like this!
Simply stunning pieces, would own all three if I could.
Absolutely beautiful.
Abso-friggin-lutely incredible
K1 looks sublime!
I wish
lmao on god. i was thinking they were no more than 2k. even then, thinking i wouldnt pay 2k for them. fkin 8k???? ahhahahaha bruh what?
the amount of insane watches you would pass up to buy this childsplay shit is absurd
@@Megatraum504 agreed. You can get a zenith split second chrono, multiple perpetual calendars, majority of grand seikos for that price tier.
lol you guys don’t get it
@@vincent67239 sure tf dont.
Wowwww gorgeous. It’s almost impossible to do such an ornate watch and still keeping classy
My favorite watch brand!❤
I'd love one of each.....
Andrew: " Relatively affordable"
Me: *Finds one Kudoke on Chrono 24 costing 1.5 times my car. *
Brilliant altogether. Marvelous Design, love them!
Hmm... though the Kudoctopus is admirable it's a bit too kitsch for my taste. With that said, Kudos to Kudoke.
Incredible piece designed by artisans. Love it
not a fan of the octopus but the others are absolutely stunning watches
Beautiful video on a beautiful watch. Thank you.
I love Kudoke, I love videos on independents and I love these reviews. More more more

Would the lubricant make its way up front, changing octopus colors?
Really Fantastic!
These guys prices are about on par pricewise with jlc watches. Its really cool.
Incredible watches. Based on your description of their mission and ethos I was expecting 4-figure watches, rather than 5 figures. But, I’d be hard pressed to say that the craftsmanship and design don’t justify prices in the $10-$15k range.
i mean, the k1 starts at 8k so there you go. The kudoktopus might be 4 figures as well and the k2 isn't far over
5:18
Anyone else notice the hair on the crystal? :D
Can't say the octowatch does much for me...but ya can't knock a guys incredible skill...got to love this Old World dedication.
they all are around 8000.00 American the octo much more. very nice watch but not affordable for the average person
Cool watch!
#1.4👍🤔The K-1 is beautiful so is the K-2!👏👏💖🎉FABULOUS😇💖
Longines hydroconquest 39mm
Remove the sapphire and peg your post-it notes
Well being the first to watch is a privilege 😀

What a great video and a better story.
