Amazing wisdom sir. Being not only a man of God, but also a veteran and a first responder, your backing up our duty to protect our community and families with scripture is a great comfort.
I am so sorry to hear this, please tell her that she is not destined to do the same. God is in charge and she cannot look at her father's horrible mistake and think that she's next. That's just a lie of satan. She Must Understand That... Good bless you all. Ramon I will say a prayer.
I want to thank all you guys for the prayers you guys her surgery is tomorrow at 7 a.m. it would take 2 and 1/2we are in Williamsburg Virginia thank you very much God bless you all
Thanks for this. I showed this to my son, as the boys were dealing with a playground conflict at school. This video discerns the difference between self defense and revenge retribution nicely.
Well put thanks for NOT being afraid to share God’s holy word . Jesus died on the cross for all of us our sins He paid the price for sin so we don’t have to. He overcame death and rose again all we have to do for eternity with Him is accept His free gift of salvation and repent and believe in the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Well said, I would at only add that I (we) need to protect our family's emotionally and spiritually as well. Trying to keep our kids innocent as long as we can from the evil and anxiety in the world is a chalenge.
Thank you I have been having this debate both in and out of the church with a couple people. Of weather a believer should be armed. You have gave me more Christian, pro gun ammunition.. no pun intended LOL
I am an atheist. Or do not believe in the exact concept of a specific god. But if somebody saying that God bless firearms to protect goodness - that’s my brother and I will hold your candle when you are praying. The good channel, very good videos, very informative and compact style. Thank you, man. :)
Love the Vid, love History of weapons, love God, Love my family, and sure do love guns! love what you do brother! great stuff! making shooting videos myself now! more in depth stuff coming soon!
Dear brother , this video is coming up tooo much , seen it many times ,, just love all your videos ,, keep up the good works with GOD and the gun videos
The goal of the sheepdog is to prevent violence and keep the blissful sheep safe. The sheepdog isn't actively seeking to harm others - that's the work of a wolf. The sheepdog is defined not by his hatred of wolves, desire for violence, or any similarity that blur the line between wolf and sheepdog
One of my favorite Lessons in the Word is in Judges 6:12. King Yeshua appears B4 Gideon who's literally hiding from the "bad guys" & Jesus sez, " ... thou mighty man of Valor..." . When I asked Jesus to quicken the meaning of this dichotomy 2me- The Holy Spirit sed that Only God Sees & Calls us in our finished state. Bcuz The Trinity can Not lie nor fail. We were All worthless vessels in our carnal state of being, but Jesus God doesn't call the Equipped - He Equips those of us whom He Calls, so the Enabling Grace & the Empowering Directions of The Spirit of Glory endows us with the strength, determination & the gumption to engage satans coward bullies on God's terms, weaving All Scripture together in the echo of - we can do all things thru Christ Jesus Who strengthens us or when I am weak He is Strong, His Grace is Sufficient or having done all - to withstand satans fiery darts - To Stand etc etc etc. Jesus taught me a long time ago that He only calls us for strong willed Leadership: to engage, to occupy, to take territory, to capture & seal satans demons in the bottomless pit. The diluted spineless American church & it's worthless demonic doctrines pedal that earthly pretentious stench of being pacifistic sheep by bastardizing the True content of Living Word. satans agenda has never wavered, John 10:10, his armies on this earth are hell bent on killing all of Christ's Prophets & we refuse to bow our Holy knees to these hordes of slanderers. We will fight & never back down bcuz One Will chase a thousand & 2 of us shall vanquish 10,000, thru Christ we Are more than conquerors!!! Amen?
Did you do this video because I responded to your video about arming yourself with this Exodus quote? If so I appreciate you taking the time to look into that. We all need to operate in good faith when trying to interpret the Bible. It's way too easy to just try to twist the words to try and rationalize how we already feel. You can literally quote the Bible to defend both sides of almost any debate. Not sure if I agree with your interpretation completely, but you seem to be genuinely trying to understand it in good faith. 👍
*I respectfully offer my interpretation. "If the sun has risen" I believe God is referring to if you wake up and find that you have been violated and you find the culprit and the culprit has your belongings you should leave it up to the police and not take his life. Because as you said "you weren't caught off guard and had a suspect in mind So his bloodshed is not a surprise response in the dark of night. It's wrong if thought went into it. As in premeditated.*
With all due respect because I'm truly not trying to be argumentative.. But to me that sounds like just hearing what you want. Of course your honest interpretation is between you and God but I can't see how you can in good faith get that from the scripture. I know it's been translated, but if God wanted to say that he could have said it so differently.
With all due respect , I welcome the discourse; It has been interpreted many times over and to quote Ray , Rickys Father on Trailer Park Boys "It's the Bible , it's subject to interpretation" 😂 Where do you believe I went wrong ? I'm all ears take a stab at it...
Another great video! I love your channel. This video goes hand in hand with a book that I’m currently reading called The Warrior Soul. If you get a chance, you should check it out.
Psalm 23:4 New American Standard Bible (NASB) 4 Even though I walk through the [a]valley of the shadow of death, I fear no [b]evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. Having taken self defense classes when I was younger , I can attest to the Staff being a comfort , it's a great old and ancient weapon , very effective. 😎
Another recommended fave is 2Chronicles 20:1-20; 20-30; & 30-37, bcuz there's 3 lessons in this one chapter. Jehoshaphat, like David, Nehemiah & Joshua all sought God First, requiring His Sovereign Wisdom & Power to ensure them/us of His Divine Assistance in gaining repeated victories over our arrogant heathen enemies. Ponder Genesis 50:20.
Not being a christian myself, I find that I'm more Christian than a lot of "so called" Christians. Enjoy your explaining of the passages. It's in simple plain English for everyone to understand.
Luke 22:36 I don't think a full word study is entirely needed here because the disciples later brought 2 swords in which Jesus said. This is enough. At the time, the Bible or Word of God didn't exist as it is today but rather consisted of many individual scrolls and if the Disciples brought 2 "Words of God"'s It simply wouldn't make any sense. It would either have to mean that they brought two copies of every scroll or that they just brought 2 scrolls which would just be two books of the bible. Not to mention that the process of obtaining Copies of Biblical text was likely rather expensive. They didn't have Presses to mass produce. People had to take a huge amount of time transcribing these. Even if Jesus meant the prophetic Word of God it wouldn't make sense for the disciples to physically show him two prophetic words.
Yes he made things simple for us"fight the good fight"we're the ones that screw things up ,those verses you quoted are his explanation to us how we should respond, too bad Adam Schift doesnt read the real book !!!
3:00 22 : 36...if anyone DOES try to insinuate or say that the "sword" is the word of God, all one has to do is examine the context in which it is placed. ow could one sell their garment, take the money, and, PURCHASE the word of God or God's grace? God and his word are not for sale. The sword is DEFINITELY a euphamism for a WEAPON of self-defense.
Defense is good. It becomes trouble when one goes into offense at the time defense is no longer warranted. Take Peter, when he sliced off that guy's ear, as an example. THIS was an offensive gesture, as Peter himself was not being attacked/arrested, thus no need to defend himself. Jesus scolded him for that. Defense is a good thing.
On Luke 22:36, first off, shame on you people for trying to change Jesus words. How dare you. Seriously. Secondly, if it was the word of God that Jesus meant, it would have been scrolls, not handy or practical to haul around which we know as Jesus and his apostles when teaching publicly were generally HANDED a scroll. It wasn't something they had on them. Third the things in the borrowed room during the passover didn't belong to them. If they didn't already have the swords on them, but took them from the homeowner.....that's theft. And that's just 3 scriptures.
Leave the Bible and scripture out of the equation for a few minutes. What sort of man or woman or even animal would not make some effort to defend them selves if physically assaulted or attacked. It s but a natural human or indeed animal instinct and totally essential for our very survival. Guess that is why I am here to be able to make this comment.
Note: Both Eph 6:17 and Heb 4:12 use the same word for sword “μάχαιρα” as used in Luk 22:36 And He said to them, But now, he who has a purse, let him take it, and likewise his wallet. And he who has no sword, let him sell his garment and buy one. Eph 6:17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God Heb 4:12 For the Word of God is living and powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing apart of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Retaliation/Self Defense Mat 5:38 You have heard that it was said, "An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth." Mat 5:39 But I say to you, Do not resist evil. But whoever shall strike you on your right cheek, turn the other to him also. Rom 12:17 Repay no one evil for evil. Rom 12:19 not avenging yourselves, beloved, but giving place to wrath; for it is written, "Vengeance is Mine, I will repay, says the Lord." Love Your Enemies Mat 5:43 You have heard that it was said, "You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy." Mat 5:44 But I say to you, Love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who despitefully use you and persecute you, Mat 5:45 so that you may become sons of your Father in Heaven. For He makes His sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. God Is Love 1Jn 4:7 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God, and everyone who loves has been born of God, and knows God. 1Jn 4:8 The one who does not love has not known God. For God is love. Also remember Heb 11:17 By faith Abraham, being tested, offered up Isaac... And Jesus Christ did the will of God when He gave up His life on the cross. Teachers that twist the Bible to justify killing today don’t understand the Holy Scriptures. With that said, I own a firearm (I like trapshooting)... Would I use it too protect my family? Good question, probably because I’m also a sinner, so I hope I never need to find out because it would be going against God’s will. The Bible is very clear about not killing anyone for any reason and loving everyone including our enemies.
I love your channel, but you have to decipher the bible for yourself. Hopefully it makes you a better person. Religion is also the cause of many wars, and many deaths.
As a Biblical scholar for 45 years with pacifistic leanings, I can whole-heartedly endorse your teaching here. Thank you.
Thank God, Mr Schutter
