    💡 Hibbing, Minnesota facts
    ✔ Hibbing is a city in Saint Louis County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 16,361 at the 2010 census
    ✔ The town was founded in 1893 by Frank Hibbing, born in Walsrode, Germany
    ✔ Frank Hibbing used his personal means to provide a water plant, electric light plant, the first roads, hotel, sawmill, and bank building
    ✔ The city was built on the rich iron ore of the Mesabi Iron Range
    ✔ The Hull-Rust-Mahoning Open Pit Iron Mine in Hibbing, is the largest operating open-pit iron mine in Minnesota, and one of the world's largest open pit iron mines
    ✔ Known As: The Town That Moved
    ✔ In the 1920's, the town moved two miles south to its present location after iron ore was discovered under the city's old location. Building by building, using steel wheels and logs, Hibbing was moved to where it stands today. The move started in 1919, and took many years to complete. More than 180 houses and 20 businesses eventually relocated to their current sites
    ✔ Bob Dylan is a musician, singer-songwriter, Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, winner of 2016 Nobel Prize in Literature lived in Hibbing
    ✔ The Bob Dylan family moved to Hibbing in 1948, when Bob was seven years old. He attended public school and began playing the guitar while he was in junior high school. He became increasingly interested in rock 'n roll and formed several local bands during his teenage years. These included The Golden Chords, The Shadow Blasters, Elston Gunn, The Rock Boppers and The Satin Tones. They performed at community talent shows, Moose Lodge meetings, local cafes and the St. Louis County Fair. For most of Bob's life in Hibbing, he resided at 2425 7th Avenue East. He graduated from Hibbing High School in 1959 and moved to Minneapolis to attend the University of Minnesota
    ✔ The Range Regional Airport offers daily commercial flights between Hibbing and Minneapolis-St. Paul
    ✔ In 1914, two men, Carl Wickman and Andrew "Bus Andy" Anderson, started a bus line between Hibbing and Alice, Minnesota, which would eventually become Greyhound Lines, the world's largest bus transportation company
