Dual Turn Lane Fail

Please be mindful of which lane you need to be turning into when at an intersection. Dual turn lanes are a common problem area for drivers turning into the adjacent lane with traffic next to them. As a motorcyclist, this is particularly concerning as I am much harder to see and easier to injure in an incident like this. While I did come up fast to the intersection, I maintained my lane but predicted this driver would not maintain his lane so I backed off going into the turn.
This driver did have a trailer which makes tight maneuvers more difficult. However, that is not an excuse to blatantly take up both turn lanes and run another motorist into the side of the road. There was also no use of a turn signal and little regard for anyone else.

I wouldn't have overtaken them on the right after they'd overtaken the right-turning car considering the likelihood of them moving back into the right lane, especially after seeing their negligence.

Yeah that’s a good point. I wanted to get a license plate since their trailer didn’t have one, hence I moved up to get the USDOT number and a license plate (which the camera made very blurry). So, I should’ve stayed back. Thanks for your input. :)
