Good review. I use this stove every day inside my small travel trailer as my primary source of heat at my off grid homestead. It works fantastically. One thing you have to be very diligent with is CLEANING THE FLUE. This stove is not really designed to be used every single day like your average household wood stove is, so if you do use it every day, you need to CLEAN YOUR FLUE OFTEN because the 3 inch pipe clogs up really quickly with heavy use. In the cold winter months I clean my pipes out every few days. You'll know when its time to clean: you won't be able to get good airflow in the firebox and smoke will start puffing out the front door. Right angle flue joints are your worst enemy when it comes to keeping a clean flue (unfortunately I'm forced to use 2 of them in my setup). They are the pieces that will clog the fastest. 45 degree angle joints are better if you can manage them. The best possible option is to use a completely straight up-and-down flue pipe. If my setup didn't have any joints/angles, I could probably get away with cleaning the flue once a month as opposed to once a week.
Thanks Diop Side, that's great information. What did you use to clean the flue with, anything particular? By the way, feel free to sub and help us grow!
I've used it as the main heat source in my sailboat for 2 years, and it throws out a load of heat and sounds like a jetengine if you down turn down the air inlet. It's very trustworthy and sturdy. Of course it gives heat fast and losses it fast. I'm considering to build some mass around it. But for sure it is a good stove.
@@d.a.t.4699 some stainless will corrode quickly in anaerobic environment, so might help to leave an inch of airspace... also effective aircrete "mass" is relative, of course but a 2-3in thick removable aircrete dome over the g-stove could add a couple hours, at best, of residual warmth, after the fire goes out, which may or may not make all that much difference, on those looong winter mights... but while the fire is going such an accessory might just bake a pie!

Spark arestor has screen on it.and I didn't buy the water jacket I just boil my water but I can see why it comes in handy can cook on top and boil water. Excellent piece of survival equipment
Owned one for 3 years. Still the best design I've come across. Mine's got the oven which fits mess tins. Use in my lavuu. Lasts a few hours with one fuelling, grest control.
Thank you for the effort you put forth to bring us this excellent review. I find that this is one of three stoves that I would actually consider buying (I already own the magnificent Four Dog Stove Company titanium Ultra Light II). I discovered "hot tenting" in the middle 1980's while living in Wyoming and I never looked back. Unfortunately all of my gear was destroyed in 2017 but I am slowly replacing it. I still need a sled/pulk, snowshoes, and a few odd items, but everything should be in place by the time I retire.
The viewing window is one of the main reasons that we got this stove. Being able to see the flames not only looks amazing, but it provides such a psychological boost.

That is a really nice wood stove and I love that water dispenser. I also see how nice that spring-loaded locking mechanism is but am a bit concerned that when the unit is really hot, it might be kind of difficult to apply pressure to lock or unlock the door. Also, I didn't see if there is a screen to prevent amber from escaping... it would be even nicer if they also make a little bigger unit to give more cooking space...
There is no problem with the opening and closing of the door at any temp. They have an XL version, which is the same, just extra large. There is no screen though we have not found that to be a problem as yet.
@@DonegalOverlanding thanks for the info. I watched a different video and that was their concern (screen) which is always my concern every time our family goes camping and we started a fire. Anyway, its a great looking wood stove.
Just an idea but if you were to pack rocks around the bottom and around the sides of the stove they would heat up and give you heat after the fire has gone out like a battery. I haven't tried it myself but after watching your great video that idea just came to me. What do you think?
Another great review. Looking for options for heating a bell tent in the winter months or indeed those cold summer months we get. Would love a copy of the recipe.
Cheers my good man. The beauty of the GStove is that its so lightweight and compact, yet versatile enough that it can be used for many purposes. The recipe....umm chicken, onions, rice and some weird vegetables. :D

@@telloarevalo862 nice copy - I prefer the original. Just the facts that I can detach the door to shake ashes out the stove - or replace a broken glass if necessary - and look at the welds.... The G-Stove is another league of manufacturing.
@@telloarevalo862 Not to us. We bought both. Winnerwell is an pale imitation of a well engineered stove with easily replaceable components and world class customers service. Replacement parts are important when some people do not watch where they are backing up that Ford 450. Our Winnerwell stove and oven manufacturing left much to be desired..
They do have a larger one. Its called XL, check out the website here for more info. It comes with a lifetime warranty too. www.gstove.com/gstove/12006/gstove-heat-view-xl-camping-stove-lifetime-warranty-plus-glass-door
I made a similar set up out of an old steel mailbox laid on it's side and 6 sections of collapsible dryer vent tube. Everything stashes inside the stove.
Thanks Walter. It depends very much on the size of the wood of course. In this video we used hardwood, but they were quite small. A friend gave us this wood free of charge as they work in a factory building high end kitchens and these are off-cuts which they take home to burn. You could have wood burn for more than 30 minutes no problem before considering putting more in, or some even use manufactured firelogs which last 2 or more hours at a time.
@@slappy442 If You got nice some embers in it and load a big chunk of hardwood (as big as it gets through the door) in the oven and close the flaps for minimal draft, it burns about 90-120 minutes. If You want to expand the heating time, just put some fireproof stones or a pot filled with (dry) sand on top of the stove, that additional mass works as a heat reservoir. 10-20 kilos additional mass is no problem for the solid G-Stove. Brikets (those huge round or octagonal Pellets) of pressed tree-bark also works fine and glows for several hours. But be careful with "processed" Fuel, although the G-Stove is made of stainless steel, it's a wood stove... ;)
@@SH1974 took ya seven months but thanks. I bought one after and used it a few times last winter. I found with the front door damper and the flue damper closed i was getting alot of back draft! Then I made the adjustments to the dampers for it to be as closed as possible without the backdraft.
Hello Guys. How much money do these stoves cost, and where can they possible this one stoves bought???🤔🤔🤔🤔😉😉😉 I WISH YOUR A HAPPY NEW YEAR. Good luck guys.
Nice stove but a flue damper like used on large stoves would burn longer and keep heat in the stove and not out the stack. I’d like to get one for the ice shack. Next season.
Its a great stove, but I wish that the shelves never had the gap for things to fall off near the body. What is the point of that gap? Why not a bar all the way along as on the rest of the shelves?
I did wonder about that myself. We have another stove that has that to create a tight seal. So far there has been so much draw from the chimney everything is sucked up the chimney fast, but it does seem like an omission.
We are happy to report that we do not bore you with every part of the process, so when the tongs were washed between touching raw meat and later when it was browned on the outside.
The Stove is nice. The only problem with it, you can’t control the burn very well. The Glass door has just too many gaps to let air in. A gasket for the door and no window would probably be better.
You can buy it without a window, in fact its cheaper. However for us, seeing the flames is extremely important. Its beautiful to look at, you can easier see when you need to add more fuel and without the glass door we might as well use our diesel heater.

@@DonegalOverlanding I do alot of fishing it keeps me sane, I've been meaning to get more longer bivvy sessions but times not always there buddy, I got a little folding bbq made by a company called Trakker that takes one off those charcoal bags that you just light the paper and it doubles up as a mini fire pit for the camping and overnight fishing it's only something like £25 of ebay if only GStove were that cheap hahaha.
I fish in Donegal alot too and when I had the defender 90 I did a lot of off roading beautiful parts of the world that's right on my doorstep.
If the 90 was still roadworthy I'd be doing more off roading content but she's sadly SORNed at the moment.
I just viewed a video where a guy and his father built a small cabin in the woods. Anyway he had the same stove. I’m thinking WoW I like that stove.
The only thing that would make the stove better is if had been enameled... Looking at the weld spots are going to rust.
But still yet nice engineering 👍 great demo.👍👍👍👍👍
Glad you enjoyed it. We have had it well over a year now and no sign of any corrosion at all. Fingers crossed!
Thank you for responding... I really do want one.
Great looking stove. And nice video, thank you!
Nice, lovely buy. I can’t get this where I live. Will get it copied/ made, won’t be of such high quality. ☺️👌🙏
Love their design very homey thanks for the review owesome
Cut the firelighter in cubes or sticks. Add a flue heat exchanger a smaller fire will keep you warm all night.
I definitely could use one of this for my camping trip one day 😁 awesome stove.
Love it.
They are cool stoves, everyone that sees it loves it. I have to keep my eye on it or it would go walkies! :D
Just looked up luxe hiking gear, and they're out of stock now..oww.
Amazon has it online.
In stock now.
Thanks for broadcast amazing! I want one so bad don't have extra money right now!
Thanks Kathy, good things come to those who wait! Dont forget to sub :D
@@DonegalOverlanding Thank you I'm counting on that! Lol!
It would be nice to give estimates to fuel usage rate and time to cook and boil in the description about
Thanks very much for the review.
You are very welcome, thanks for the support, we really appreciate it.
That has got to be one of the best looking tent stoves ive ever seen, well done sir well done indeed.
Wow, thanks!
I checked the link you listed in a below post. Website said sold out. Maybe it was just the one store? Lovely unit, nice size.
I am not sure. We are in Ireland. A quick google should help. I have heard that since we uploaded this video that they are selling out all over the place and they are finding it hard to keep up as they are a small comp[any and everything is hand made.
I HAVE TO GET ME ONE OR TWO...thanks for the review.
Youre welcome
Amazing little stove thanks for sharing
Youre welcome.
Where have you been hiding???
That's a cracking video and on the exact stove I plan on purchasing in the new year for my bell tent 👍👍👍 you should do more videos.
Love to see it hear how you clean and maintain your bell tent.
I'll watch your other video later on
Thanks Jason. We will continue to add more and more videos to the channel. This was a particularly good video to make I must admit.
Beautifully engineered
Its a beauty!
When they were putting the stove into the packaging, they probably put the smoke tubes in upside down...that's why it was so hard to take out.
Its a lot easier now for sure!
If they make a larger model, say for a 22ft camper I need one for wintering on a goldmine in Colorado at 6,600ft come Nov.
There is a larger model, I think its called XL> There is a link in the description which has all the various models, have a look. Even this small one pumps out a huge amount of heat. Ive used it a lot in the Bell Tent and I have to have the windows open as its so hot.
Outstanding ! Thankyou, great review, yep i was getting abit hungry watching the cooking. Been looking how and where to buy, the link is priceless, will order very soon, many thanks ! Liked and subscribed. Much appreciated !
Wow, just found out through a comment from somebody, that Gstove has their own youtube channel, just gets better !
@@adamrant4138 yeah its a great channel!
Thank you very much Adam, hope you get one soon and enjoy it as much as we do.
Stainless.
Stains less.
Not rust proof but apart from rough welding looks good.
Great video cheers
Thanks Tim, I actually knew that, but I think I forgot when making the video :D
@@DonegalOverlanding Well, it's obviously got the dug's appproval! :--)

Nice review !
I'm looking for a stove and hesitate between this stove and the petromax Loki !
Can you tell me (us) more about your camp : tipi model, floor ... ?
Thanks and happy new year from France !
Hi Sam, its a 4 metre bell tent deluxe model.
Hi just watched your demonstration on the G stove. Could you please let me know the price on the item you were demonstrating. Thank you in advance.
All the prices are in the link in the description. Check out the gobbqco website. Prices can change at any time, so I dont post prices as this will be up for years. Also there are different prices in different countries, so its easier to just look at the website.
To answer the question "Is it as good as everyone says it is?"
No. It is NOT AS GOOD as everyone says it is.
It is better.
(I own mine since may 2017)
Wrong...nomad woodburning stove by winnerwell is much better.
ua-cam.com/video/HyNCZUK5GpI/v-deo.html
@@telloarevalo862 nice copy - I prefer the original.
Just the facts that I can detach the door to shake ashes out the stove - or replace a broken glass if necessary - and look at the welds....
The G-Stove is another league of manufacturing.
@@SH1974 copy or not..bottom line it's better...
Do they have a bigger size. Its wat to small and light gauge for my needs. But great video.
They do have a larger one. Its called XL, check out the website here for more info. It comes with a lifetime warranty too. www.gstove.com/gstove/12006/gstove-heat-view-xl-camping-stove-lifetime-warranty-plus-glass-door
Looks extremely well built.
A tough wee cookie as we would say in Scotland! Would appreciate a sub to the channel to help us build as fast as possible please.
Thats a neat bit of gear well thought out 🙂👍
well done sir
My friend what is that awesome tune in the background called, where can I find it?
ua-cam.com/video/E-9Fjw_vcRA/v-deo.html. I had to track it down myself once I heard it
I made a similar set up out of an old steel mailbox laid on it's side and 6 sections of collapsible dryer vent tube. Everything stashes inside the stove.
I just want to know how low it can be turned down...and what happens when the damper is closed. Does the fire go out?
Great review. For how long will the stove heat before reloading?
Thanks for letting me know.
@@DonegalOverlanding thats all?? Half an hour max burn time? What about longer burn times with the front damper closed and the pipe damper closed?
@@slappy442 sorry, didn't see it earlyer...
This product is pure camping luxury !!!!
Hello Guys.
How much money do these stoves cost, and where can they possible this one stoves bought???🤔🤔🤔🤔😉😉😉
I WISH YOUR A HAPPY NEW YEAR.
Good luck guys.
Nice stove but a flue damper like used on large stoves would burn longer and keep heat in the stove and not out the stack. I’d like to get one for the ice shack. Next season.
Thats true Tim. They do actually sell a flue damper for it, I just dont have one yet.
Its a great stove, but I wish that the shelves never had the gap for things to fall off near the body. What is the point of that gap? Why not a bar all the way along as on the rest of the shelves?
The shelves are designed so that they stay as cool as possible.
Thank you, from Las Vegas.
Youre very welcome indeed. I just cant get over that our wee video is being viewed all around the world, it really makes the effort worth it.
Hands down one of the best
Looks like a very nice stove. Good job on the review.
Thank you very much, we would be delighted if you enjoyed it enough to sub to the channel as we work hard to grow. Have a Happy New Year!
Yup like us Americans with are coffee but you can't go wrong with ice tea in the summer
stove looks to be everything you said...high quality...my only question is why is there not a proper fireproof gasket around the door?
I did wonder about that myself. We have another stove that has that to create a tight seal. So far there has been so much draw from the chimney everything is sucked up the chimney fast, but it does seem like an omission.
Look at 5:10 and look at 6:35. Donegal mentioned he washed the tongs between these two shoots..
We are happy to report that we do not bore you with every part of the process, so when the tongs were washed between touching raw meat and later when it was browned on the outside.
Looks a nice bit of kit.🤠 do they do a bigger one,
Check the link in the description for all of the range, they have several different models to choose from.
That looks a great little oven you've got Every Thing in it 😉👍
We love it!
Thanks for making me hungry 😁. Nice stove.
I know how you feel, between this review and the Ooni pizza oven review we also made, I'm always wanting to eat something after watching it!
I got one similar to this from aldi $60au on the clearence table
I'm sure it is just the same. :D
That's funny I got mine at Chauncey's in Riverdale for thirty quid mate.
