A part of why Raya the last Dragon bombed was pretty much because they said “y’all Asians are all the same” and wanted to make a south East Asian film but literally threw us all in a melting pot of shit. There was Thai, Laos, Chinese, Filipino, Singaporean, Vietnamese, Indonesians etc all thrown in there they even threw in Polynesian culture in there too. It was not only so half assed, the story sucked, and it was the epitome of racial inclusion in the most careless way. It was released when asian hate crimes began to rise during COVID and rise of the “stop Asian hate” movement. They were trying to bank off the suffering of others 😂

People werent getting "triggered" she was actively insulting the character, the original film, and all other old Disney films. People just didnt want an asshole like that in any movie.

Speaking of the Little Mermaid controversy, I remember having the 1997 Cinderella with Brandy as Cinderella as a kid. Can anyone recall if there was similar outrage to that movie at the time? I was too young to have noticed.

Apparently there was, from what I read. It was pretty much accused of the same thing as TLM, but not that much people actually cared, it seems. Personally, I think it was because ABC doesn't have much of an impact compared to Disney (that I know off/from what I've seen).

Correction: The Parent Trap was originally a 1961 film of the same name starring Hayley Mills that had 3 TV movie sequels that almost none of ya'll ever heard of. It Takes Two is not a Parent Trap movie, but I liked that movie too.

Horror films just don't make big money due to interests and R-ratings. They mostly profit from using budgets so tiny that even a small amount of interest can make them money. Like a $15 million budget + marketing and $100 million return is a success. They could 100% do it, but Disney is after huge returns that practically no horror film can provide.

There’s a thing in economics when a company has a monopoly in an industry and the consumers get flooded with the same or similar products, then the company starts losing money and go out of business, because people in general don’t have enough purchasing power to buy their shit. Same thing happens with Walmart in small towns that were promised economic prosperity but have ended up desolate and empty, and jobs being taken away.

Like the whole Mirror Mirror/Magic Mirror on the wall telling The evil Queen that Snow White was hotter than her so she told the huntsman to take her into the woods and bring back her heart. But the huntsman liked Snow White and instead took back the heart of a animal to "prove" that he krilled Snow White. So then the Queen asked the mirror again thinking that bitch was dead, but the mirror still said Snow White was hotter than her. So she then disguised herself as a witch and fed Snow White a poison apple.
Snow White is in my top 3 Disney films, so it’s kind of annoying when people on both sides of the outrage just miss facts and details.
