I just purchased my EcoSport and I am happy with it so far! It has a nice ride height, and handles well in the snow with its 4wd system! I am also impressed with the available storage space it has for a compact SUV!
The car was developed and named in Brazil. That's why the pronouce is "Echo", 'cuz that's how we pronouce Eco. But if that's the pronunciation Ford should adopt in the US I don't know;
The tailgate is going to be a problem here us Americans it'll be super inconvenient when you want to load anything when there's someone parked super close to you from behind

We don't have this upgrade here in Europe, they havent sold well so far get only average reviews made in Brazil with complaints of below average interior quality. First model had the spare mounted on the rear Pleased to see a awd drive version should have had in the first place, sold here with a 1 litre 125 hp version, a 2 litre too much for its size? Based on the Fiesta which is a big seller here!

A swing gate is fine i guess, but ford cheaped out and didnt change the orientation from the left drive version, so this gate will be opening towards the street

a 1 liter turbo in an SUV, even a small one just sounds awful. 4 people in that thing most likely wont make it up a lot of San Francisco streets. it 'ain't a bad looker, but man, so weak it's crazy
the bigger the turbo, the worse the turbo lag. i'm guessing it's got a little twin scroll, possibly even a ball bearing turbo that spools super quick to get the power on as quick as possible. otherwise it would be an even worse situation with such a small engine. so it looks like the 2015 4D 1L with an clutch weighs in at 2770 lbs & produces about 123 bhp. i'd assume this one has similar numbers.
Maui Chris I've driven both the focus and fiesta equipped with the 1L EcoBoost. In the fiesta, it's a perky little motor. In the focus, it's a dog. I'd imagine in the ecosport, it will be sufficient and nothing more. I really think the 1.5L EcoBoost that you find in the fusion and escape would be really sporty.
Michael Artelle Maaaaaybe not /really/ sporty, but sporty nonetheless. The 2.0L EcoBoost is great fun in the Escape. I'd love to see an Escape Sport one day with the 2.3L EcoBoost and AWD.
How disappointing. Why would they discontinue a good REAL SUV like the excursion and then come out with this crap when gas is only 2.00 a gallon? I am still waiting for the excursion to come back but am becoming less and less convinced that it will every time a "SUV" like this ecosport come out.

I'm all for small, practical, and fuel efficient, but what a boring crossover. The most innovative thing here is the 1.0L Ecoboost that's been out for years in Europe. Hopefully, the drive is more exciting than the rest of the car.

I'm really getting tired of the downgrading American car companies. I like highend feeling small cars. I hate luxurious pickups. When Ford first announced the fiesta in 2010 I was going to buy one. But I had my sights on the Euro versions. Than we get this Mexico built crap. I'm not buying an American nameplate to have been built somewhere else. I don't want my shit made in Canada or Mexico then call it American. I'm sure Mexico and Canada can build things well but not cars.

I own a Honda CR-V with a 1.5 and get 2 miles per gallon better then what fords eco sport gets with the 1.0 turbo.
Check out the Mazda CX-3, Jeep Renegade and Fiat 500X.

Zach N It's a swing gate, because in other markets it still has a spare tire installed on the door. So it would be impossible for it to be a liftgate.

Jimmy M I had a 95 swift with 1.3 5 speed now have a 2015 1.0 5 speed fiesta wish this came with a manual I would get one with awd.

I know this is a cheap car, but the "cargo management system" in the rear seems overly cheap. Especially so on the Titanium trim level.
