Oh man chat was salty in this lol. Love how easily disproven they are. "Not everyone has all of the cards..." Dude we're playing Scolipede! That's not very rare haha. Great vid Jeff
Mayo has some weakness (such as pork like sausages or hot dogs) but is very strong when paired with sandwiches, especially chicken, one of the most prominent in the meta. Mustard can really be slotted into anything but those who cut it strongly disagree it’s a meta contender
I'd probably split Leaf to one Leaf and one X-Speed. It's rare enough that I could be wrong but X-Speed into Weezing Koga to set up poison and immediately Venoshock feels crazy strong
both of those pokemon have 2/3 retreat costs, the X-speed generally isn't enough to get stuff out in this deck unless you have extra attachments which it generally doesn't. Leaf is much better.
It probably wasn't super clear in my explanation, but this is for when Scolipede is already in the active. I understand that Leaf is more useful generally due to retreat costs, but I'm more wondering if it's worth an include for those edge cases since it allows you to stay aggressive
Weezing's the only 3 retreat card and the second 120 is crucial in a lot of cases; I'm actually running 2 x-speed 0 leaf to have the one-turn shuffle on deck as much as possible.
For the first game. Just wondering, if you’d have 6:26 used Leaf to retreat Scoliopide, switch to koffing and attack, in which put another koffing on your bench. And then the on your following turn, even if the opponent knocks out your first koffing, would you still be able to evolve the second koffing into weezing to poison them and finish with scolipede or not? Just curious, cause just seems like another line as well.
I have been running this list since the set came out with the only difference adding a researcher so I can get the mew out and it feels so good. The scolepede line was the damage the deck needed and the new koffing was the constancy it needed.
Now If only I can acquire a figgin Mew EX. This is the deck that I have wanted to play the most as Weezing was my favorite card prior to Mithical Islands dropping. Scolipede line looks like a perfect match with it and the Mew does solve a major Charizard problem that this deck did have. TRADING CANNOT COME SOON ENOUGH!!!
Basically been playing the same deck, but since I don’t have mew I’ve been playing 1 copy or the new salandit, theory being that it works as a mini scolipede when you get unlucky and don’t draw the evos
if you dont like to use tauros while you dont have mew, grimer can also act as another way to poison pokemon to add more consistency to scolipede. not sure how that might work for you since i dont have your decklist but its worth some consideration until you get your mew
I hate that everytime you do the smallest change to a deck like this the game goes "oh, and you want to play two colors of energy right!?" No! I just wanted to try out a different Koffing stop messing with my energy!
Hey Jeff! This off-meta fighting deck is surprisingly consistent. It aims to use Onix as a wall/attacker and Brock as a great way to manage energy distribution. All the while, it builds up support like Marshadow/Sandslash/Kabutops in the back (all with low retreat costs). I think you would enjoy piloting! 1x Sandshrew 2x Sandslash 2x Onix 1x Kabuto 1x Kabutops 1x Marshadow 1x Potion 1x X-Speed 2x Poke Ball 2x Dome Fossil 2x Prof. Research 1x Gio 2x Brock 1x Sabrina
It is more reliable to draw a basic pokemon than a stage 1 Mon so some lists opt to have two stage 1 and only one basic. I would say it’s more common to see two basic and then two stage one as well as an ex of that same pokemon like the marowak like for example or exegutor
Jeff, another thing I noticed that first game when you missed lethal, I think there was another effect I didn't notice at first that could have let you win. Leaf reduces the cost to retreat for the active Pokémon. After you retreated the Scolipede and put in Weezing, I still saw the buff yellow icon on Weezing and the retreat button was highlighted when you attacked. Could you have retreated the Scolipede, put in Weezing, poisoned the Celebi, then retreated back to Scolipede and gotten the knockout?
The game rules are that you can only retreat once per turn, the icon just doesn't go away. Otherwise we could have seen stuff like that even on single retreat cost cards with x-speed or just by having a good amount of extra energy.
@@TreyPuga also bc genome hacking circle circuit does nothing lol. granted you’re sacrificing the Charizard crimson storm mirror but I see way more pika than zard on ladder
@@peach_ow8020 im predicting that in tournament play, pikachu ex is going to have a significantly smaller share of the decks used than before. i think in most cases you have a lot of tools around scolipede to keep it relatively healthy before battling pika. based off the data from the limitless website, pikachu decks have only totaled to 135 so far (roughly 7% of decks) and charizard decks total to about 80 (roughly 4% of decks). the usage is somewhat similar and pikachu does not have the reliable burst damage to keep up with the updated decks which is why i expect it to drop while charizard rises. if this ends up being true, i see mew becoming more important than tauros since scolipede can already ohko pikachu.
I use the new Tauros instead of mew. I play this deck with either a Venipede line or Arbok line. The risk of giving 2 pts with an ex doesn’t seem worth it especially with the popularity of dark type. Thoughts?
The eternal struggle: do i use my pack points for the second copy of Koga and Weezing, or for the immersive Mew? As Jaunary draws near, the question haunts me.
@skotiaH2O yeah that's a very tough choice. I remember purchasing a card I needed and then it came out of a pack I opened within few minutes. It was painful
@MrRafarr20 Jolteon, Nidoqueen, Golem, Blastoise, Bellsprout and Gengar. I guess i could maybe get them through trading? Though we have no idea how that'll work.
I've tried a few lists with four basics, and it never works for me. Even if the fifth is something like Mew EX, that one extra mon feels like it makes a HUGE difference when getting flooded with trainers.
It's better in almost every way. Lower energy cost, lower retreat cost, more HP. Being able to retreat scolipede with leaf is amazing, you can't really retreat Muk due to his line having ridiculous retreat costs. Koga on Muk is awful value as you lose your 3 energy. The only advantage Muk has is it is easier to find, but it's worse in absolutely every other way
So massive asterisk on this comment as it's not data driven just a funny anecdotal evidence. I got spoon fed the entire celebi ex deck with like 2 celebi ex, i got 1 immersive one. I got the full serperior line with two of the fancy art serperior i got two of the grass laprass people are running and 2 of the exegutor line i opened like 15 packs. It's really weird how much of this deck i got. Like i got 0 new rapidash and only 1 new magmar days 1
Legit just made a deck like this for the event except i dont have mew ex so i have two of the new tauros and only one leaf its got +5/0 (i wasn't counting) All and all one of my new favorite decks
Weezing is the type of card I refer to as "jank glue" if you like brewing it's a really solid pick up that splashes a lot of places on top of good decks like this one.
Its more then jank Jeff its the best deck in the meta its putting up insane numbers up in the big tournys averaging 4+ decks in each of the top tables decks nutty good
@@jonpaulgallina623Jeff didn't say wheezing is jank. He just means a lot of mid/bad pokemon can be made decent/viable by just putting wheezing in the same deck. His point to the original question was, if you like deck building getting 2 wheezing will be better than moltress or pika EX.
Ok new Tauros might be good, but I also feel like putting 1 of Jigglytuff and Wigglytuff back in mighr be better. This deck is basically the evolution of Arbok/ Smogmog and before Mew you ran the tuff line to deal wirh bigger threats

i mean its okay that you took the original list and made it worse but its kinda bad manner to not even show the original list and sell your approach of the list as the tournament winning one
That missed lethal in the first game was stressful. Good thing rng came in clutch
It was so satisfying to beat two mewtwo ex in same match with scolipede. Enjoying it
Really looking forward to the tournament data analysis video. I love those!

Daily reminder #2,985 that Red Card is a bad, embarrassing Pokemon Pocket card. Always has been and always will be.
This is my favorite new deck so far
When do we get a clip video of all the times Redcard does nothing or helps us.

Tauros is just as good and is single prize
Replace the Mew Ex with Tritox. 50 fire damage for a colorless on a base stage pokemon is crazy against Celebi

Salandit is good

literally the most annoying thing in the whole game
This deck eats Mewtwo lunch. But, interestingly, it is the main deck that Aerodactyl fighting decks destroy.
I mean, is it really interesting that the Aerodactyl deck is good against the deck with all Pokemon weak to fighting?
Hey Jeff!
