It's a trap, it will create imbalance when it comes to labor sector and goods and services brought by thier natural resources advantage...say for example , a country like the Phil's, an agricultural country , if our main exportation is just food or raw materials production , our people will be dependent to such availability...were not that industrialize as them to compete...we will be laborers when it comes to that availability means of such production...even in abroad like U.S , the demand for skilled workers will shift into being self sufficient for work force...labor will be expensive and products produce will also be expensive...imagine necessities like construction supplies concentrated within Russia , China , North Korea and other countries possessing this minerals naturally will set the price higher even if it is within brics money....so as technology...machines and gadgets will rise it's prices...production depends on the availability....dollars serve as mediators and regulators for this....Do you plan to make us all agriculturist and China a world power in electronics, making fake food products , construction capacities...everything brought by its industrialization.?
The brics nation will benefits to this especially if your country brings so much in the table , like Saudi Arabia, for oil...if your productions are so valuable to daily lives like constructions, oil , medicine and raw materials for weapon production then you should...but if your not a key player...this is of disadvantage....
We never have any Labour advantage nor agriculture advantage, remember where did our beras go? We are importing rice ourselves. Also all our local factories prefer to hire foreign labour such as those from Bangladesh etc. Local labour are used to rent seeking mentality or civil servant jobs, so without BRICS our economy will remain stagnates or even decline considering how EU has banned our palm oil. Our proton also cannot sustain long term before BRIcS, Muslim nation never wanted our car, see how long Mahathir have been trying to sell Turkey proton. With Muslim nation it is trade deficit also, everyone do Hajj throw money there but we can’t even export durian to them😂 so unless you have better idea, BRIcs is a good backup plan, we can at least ride on China wave to eat some crumb left behind like semiconductor industry. Secondly it is the rise of right wing populism due to too much immigrant in the West both legal & illegally. Even Australia want to cut back on the numbers of international student. Even if their country allow it, their people may not like you for working there. I think Malaysia should position itself as a neutral power in the region to guarantee our economic safety. Joining the BRICS means taking a side against western powers. The UK, EU and the US are already vital trading partners for Malaysia. So is China. The best way to move forward is to not pick sides and stay neutral. Singapore learned this lesson a long time ago.
I dont see how this is going to be great for Malaysia. It wouldn't be bad to join BRICS but I don't know what the benefits are. BRICS is not a free trade agreement. It's similar to the IMF & World Bank. Which is great in terms of extreme emergencies and you needed some loan. But beyond that I don't see any benefits. Malaysia government finances have always been stable anyway. Even during Najib times it was stable. Public debt of 60% of gdp its actually healthy. Very healthy if you compare that to the US, Japan, UK, France, etc. So it's not like we needed access to more loans for emergencies in the future.
From google Countries facing difficulties in paying back BRI loans include *Argentina*, *Mongolia*, *Pakistan*, and *Suriname*, among others ¹. These countries have struggled with debt distress, and China has provided liquidity support and bailout lending to help them avoid default ². *Argentina* has tapped into a currency swap agreement with China to meet a scheduled repayment on a 2018 IMF loan ¹. *Sri Lanka* and *Zambia* have also faced debt distress, with Sri Lanka defaulting on its loans and Zambia negotiating a debt restructuring deal with China ³. *Egypt*, *Nigeria*, and *Russia* have also faced challenges in repaying BRI loans ¹. China has emerged as a lender of last resort for these countries, providing emergency rescue lending and bailout funds to help them avoid default ². However, these loans often come with higher interest rates and less favorable terms than those offered by international institutions like the IMF ².

Proton can also utilise expertise from larger talent pool.
@@TanSpeakersCorner our concern is just not with labor force ...but the price of the daily necessities that these bric nations possess...why would you sell something in a lower price with it's demands..this is manipulative...it's like " our money have same value now in importation and exportation but it doesn't mean that you won't need a lot of it when you do buy" ...brics money is monopoly....atleast U.S provides us opportunities to work abroad with jobs, the key players in brics nations cannot do that because of thier massive work force...like China and India...you'll get us more poorer...
@@janicetan5299 China also allow jobs abroad, I seen many people working in China or elsewhere. TikTok ceo is a Singaporean. Are you not aware of the ongoing trade war which is destabilising the price point of global food supply chain? There is literally a war going on in Ukraine as we speak, the breadbasket of Europe.
Secondly it is the rise of right wing populism due to too much immigrant in the West both legal & illegally. Even Australia want to cut back on the numbers of international student. Even if their country allow it, their people may not like you for working there. We have similiar problems here but it may also benefit us since we aim to be ASEAN powerhouse anyway and having many ASEAN people here would benefit the “rent seeking” mindset of Malaysian.
@@TanSpeakersCorner yeah like low incoming jobs ...
The west haaaate seeing other countries prosper. I can't see any other reason.
Btw, Singapore isn't neutral. We have chosen to side with USA long ago instead of other superpower i.e. China.
Malaysia will have nothing to be proud of Ringgit appreciated against USD since the BRICS will close its opportunity to trade in USD!😂

BRIC loans are similar to Ah Long
Doesn't check credit score
High interest
Tell a lot of lies.
From google
Countries facing difficulties in paying back BRI loans include *Argentina*, *Mongolia*, *Pakistan*, and *Suriname*, among others ¹.

@@DontKnowDontCare Mahathir & Anwar are two sides of the same coin, they have been eyeing or having an ambition of building up eastern civilization or world order. Mahathir started the look east policy, now Anwar tout about Asian currency. Perhaps Malaysia simply have the urge to revert back to old days diplomacy like the one in Ming dynasty with kingdom of Melaka.
You know Yan Xuetong a Tsing Hua professor once said in an interview on UA-cam that he is good friend with Badawi, and that it was long ago that Badawi visit him in China & Badawi is the one asking China as a friendly advice to build up its military because China is a big country and you can’t just rely on others for security.
