USA won't sanction vital trade partners and allies. Taiwan is the high tech capital of the world yet, they're a vital ally to the US. Samsung is a bigger tech giant than Huawei yet, the US don't mind them. Why? South Korea is US ally. Same with Japan. Malaysia must align with the west, which is easy because we are a democracy and are against communism. I just never understood certain Malaysians who are against communism and pro democracy but willingly support Russia and China. We just need to be smart in playing the geopolitics game and Malaysians should wake up.

We must never be beholden anymore to western bullying tactics at the expense of our move forward. We have seen how China, Japan, South Korea and Taiwan advanced economically by trading with everyone and not impose restrictions and sanctions if the ball doesn't go their way. Unlike the " orang putih" who arbitrarily changes the rules as and when it suits them. After all between China and India they already compose of 1/3 of the worlds population.

OBOR makes Malaysia to be as one of the major part for China and BRICS. But I saw some news saying BRICS is still with IMF and WTO, so what's the truth here?
As for my 2 cents, i'm seriously supporting our move to join BRICS. This is more like a chess game between us and the world, military and politically, BRICS is a one good move, also having bigger pawns is much safer.
After all, we are very fragile especially with the growing power of the military complex industry of the US. Bangladesh will soon be another one of their military base and Philippines is already armed to their teeth with the military power from US. So many issues like Sabah, can threaten us easily...so with BRICS, we are more secured. 😊
As for the authoritarianism, both democracy or sosialist, or communism... they're the same evil. One is disguised as a sheep, the other may just come as they are, but, we too, have our own demons and, we and their evil, surely can kawtim one. 😂

Also all our local factories prefer to hire foreign labour such as those from Bangladesh etc. Local labour are used to rent seeking mentality or civil servant jobs, so without BRICS our economy will remain stagnates or even decline considering how EU has banned our palm oil. Our proton also cannot sustain long term before BRIcS, Muslim nation never wanted our car, see how long Mahathir have been trying to sell Turkey proton. With Muslim nation it is trade deficit also, everyone do Hajj throw money there but we can’t even export durian to them😂 so unless you have better idea, BRIcs is a good backup plan, we can at least ride on China wave to eat some crumb left behind like semiconductor industry. I dont see how this is going to be great for Malaysia. It wouldn't be bad to join BRICS but I don't know what the benefits are. BRICS is not a free trade agreement. It's similar to the IMF & World Bank. Which is great in terms of extreme emergencies and you needed some loan. But beyond that I don't see any benefits. Malaysia government finances have always been stable anyway. Even during Najib times it was stable. Public debt of 60% of gdp its actually healthy. Very healthy if you compare that to the US, Japan, UK, France, etc. So it's not like we needed access to more loans for emergencies in the future.

    From google
Countries facing difficulties in paying back BRI loans include *Argentina*, *Mongolia*, *Pakistan*, and *Suriname*, among others ¹. These countries have struggled with debt distress, and China has provided liquidity support and bailout lending to help them avoid default ².
*Argentina* has tapped into a currency swap agreement with China to meet a scheduled repayment on a 2018 IMF loan ¹. *Sri Lanka* and *Zambia* have also faced debt distress, with Sri Lanka defaulting on its loans and Zambia negotiating a debt restructuring deal with China ³. *Egypt*, *Nigeria*, and *Russia* have also faced challenges in repaying BRI loans ¹.
China has emerged as a lender of last resort for these countries, providing emergency rescue lending and bailout funds to help them avoid default ². However, these loans often come with higher interest rates and less favorable terms than those offered by international institutions like the IMF ².
