Something amazing you can buy is Dave Canterbury's 4 volume box set on Bushcraft. Man, I never knew how OP cattails are, and they're one of the easiest plants to positively identify. One part of that book that really got my attention was when the doctor gave the scenario of you taking a fall after losing your footing and impaling your lung on a broken branch. So that just happened, and you're by yourself. You have a sucking chest wound, and any moment your lung is gonna collapse. What do you do? Those books answer all sorts of questions like that. Amazing to think a bit of tape and a sandwich bag can save your life in that scenario, used to create a one way valve (cut bag into square, place over wound, and tape up 3 sides). Prevents air from being sucked in through the wound, but will allow air to escape the wound. The information in those books, especially the medical one, is damn near priceless in an emergency. Also reminds you not all knife blades will spark on fire steel, a real bummer of a thing to find out in the field if that was your plan to start a fire, lol.

A good book series you guys would appreciate is called "Foxfire". It's an old book series about self-reliance and very basic subsistence living. I don't even know if it is in print anymore.
Training is huge. I would encourage everyone even if they're not gun owners to be trained and equipped to deal with traumatic injuries and basic first aid. During the riots which is assume we will see some this summer, medical response in many areas of city and even suburbs EMS could not or would not be able to get to you in normal times. In urban AOs 1-3 hours for EMS was not uncommon. Having the skills and equipment to treat serious injuries is extremely important and those kits are worth thier weight in gold if you need them. Just like a firearm, when you need it, you REALLY need it. I think general preparedness and getting that squared away, upgrade supplies or gear if you need to bug in for a little bit is wise. Seeing the panic buying during the 15 days in March it was a relief for me knowing I was only topping off some basics and this wasn't my only food, TP or whatever unlike most other people. Same during the riots, when stores closed at 6pm or others had been looted, knowing you are prepared if you are looking at those issue is smart. Gardening is huge, that can be done almost every place someone lives even if it is a plant or 2. Anything you can do that will allow you to learn that skill is great thing and it is a learning experience for me every single year

Maybe I'll join the rest of the gougers and flip it on GunBroker for some ridiculous price. 😆
@@M81_WOODLAND Picked up 2 boxes from AIM surplus for 22$ a box a couple of weeks ago. What boggles my mind is that PPU Partizan in Serbia told me in an email that they were gonna run a bunch of 6.5 Carcano in February or March and then...well I guess everybody still had Covid and didn't make it to work those months ...so here we are waiting for scraps to be thrown our way.
A good pocket knife as well.
GREAT video guys!!!!
I decided to get a Glock 48 MOS for a new edc. Gun was $530, light was $125, red dot was $225, red dot adapter $50, steel mag release / magazines $200. Looking at $1130 at the end. Don’t even have a holster yet.
I’ve spent the last 2 years on gear. Finally put some toward an incredibly sweet sounding Taylor Acoustic 314ce v-class.
This will be my first “expensive” guitar. But I fell in love with the sound.
Nicceee. Make her sing, brother
Got 30 round AR 2A mags from a local store, they were 9.00 each. Limit was 20 per customer.
Almost summer!.... time to go by my winter gear for next winter, you can find a lot of stuff on sale for cheap that didn't sell this last winter.
My brother works at the Daniel Defense factory over there in Georgia. He has been ordering us the 12 pack DD 32 round mags each month for a year. I'm going on over 200 mags... LOADED... Had the ammo from when I worked at Palmetto State Armory in 2018 and 2019
🍪
Ammo and Optics. We need em' in the Infrastructure Bill.
My friends. What we’re seeing is called inflation. Gross inflation tends to precede economic correction aka a depression.
Went to the local gun show two months ago. Left the house thinking Turkish Mauser for $250 would be a good day. I found a 1903 model and a Yugo m48a at the same table. Negotiated $425 for both. In my opinion, it was a great day.
Man Glock mags are just now starting to become available around where I live in Missouri. Ammo is slowly coming back too. At decent prices. I was worried for a while lol.
I've had to use ets mags, for my glock. They are around 20 dollars or more depending on capacity.
@@wrenchracer86cl also dumham sports has Glock mags that are pretty generic, no holes to see your rounds. But they’re 22 rd mags for 12 bucks. They work. I’ve tested two of them so far.
This is why I got a airforce Texan lss and a lead smelter and bullet cast and lead is easy to get
I waited 8 months for an ar upper, just got it a couple weeks ago. Cool video thanks.
You order it from optics planet or something?
My mother told me "YOU DON'T GO TO A LOBSTER RESTAURANT TO EAT LOBSTER AND ASK THE PRICE... YOU JUST GET IT BECAUSE YOU WANT OR NEED IT!"
A good book series you guys would appreciate is called "Foxfire". It's an old book series about self-reliance and very basic subsistence living. I don't even know if it is in print anymore.
Yes the Heritage Rough Rider .22 single action revolver is about 130 bucks.
Sportsmans Guide has a fair quantity of milsurp vests and belts again, along with mag pouches. You may have to piece it together, but it can be done.
It's funny to me that you posted this the same day I bought NODS and a PEQ-15 for pretty cheap
Anything you can do that will allow you to learn that skill is great thing and it is a learning experience for me every single year
Great video. Did you guys buy your glasses at the same place as me?
I’ve loaded up on extra mags for each of my rifles
I've found that most stuff is still available and normal price outside of ammo. Guns are up a bit but not that bad if you shop around, everything else like mags has barely moved.
I loaded up on tampons to barter with
Always griping, but quote Sgt Rock, 'It's not good to hear a solider not gripe'.
Silence is the sound of surrender.
I’m still confused WHERE 22 mag...17 hmr....17 wsm..... ( not exactly self defense stuff ) has gone? And why am I seeing BRANDS of ammo lately not the normal Federal, ect.?
The truth is distributors are sitting on most of it driving up prices. Just like they did with 22lr from 2015-2017.
Yes, Milsurp gear (other than guns) I just picked up a super awesome swiss m70 load-bearing jacket, totally gonna be my new hunting jacket and I won't even need a pack except for extended outings!
There goes Chad more interested in whats on his phone than doing the GG video.Way to go Chad real classy.
Eric you might as well do these videos on your own.
Good, he trying to hard to look identical also
G19 MOS for $700+. Insane.
$599 by me 😁😜
That’s only a 15-20% increase which for all practical purposes Isn’t that bad given normal prices are 550-600 depending on the sights that are on it.
If you look you can still find deals. I bought a 12 gauge bullpup for $270 from PSA when everyone else had the same gun for over $500.
I recently bought a Russian parts kit build AK for $1000 even, spent about $22 each for polish surplus steel 7.62x39 mags in two batches, and at the same time as the mags I bought 200 rounds of Red Army Standard for $77 shipped to fill the mags I bought so I had something on hand until I could buy a whole case at a decent price. I'm also about to pull the trigger on buying an Armi Galesi .25 for pocket carry thst the guy wants $100 for, and I'm also buying a vintage .32 acp surplused police pistol my buddy scored in a trade for my mom as a gift. There's deals to be had as long as you don't panic and you shop around for the best price like you normally would.
I scored a 3M breathe easy PAPR for like $35 on ebay to go with my FM12 a few weeks ago, deals are out there
i got a Ruger PC charger for a decent price. $700 after delivery to my ffl. plenty of mags for that already from my 9e. my new neighbor reloads so i have a new friend too!
Never knew about that collimating device for a standard pvs14! Awesome.
I highly recommend companies like spiritus systems, crye precision, velocity systems, or trex arms if y’all are looking for plate carriers, chest rigs, and belts. All are very similar in price from $100-300.
I can't believe it's been 7 years since Barry has been gone😢
I just picked up the old "The Book Of Riffles" by W.H.B. Smith and Joseph E. Smith and also the old book "GUNSMITHING" by Roy F. Dunlap
I feel bad for the folks limited to 10rd mags. Just bought a few more 30 for my AR, and noticed the magpul 10rd was the same price as the 20 Pmag.
The gun shop near me still has a big stockpile of Gen 2 5.56 Pmags for $9 each. I always pick one up whenever I pop in there. So I currently have several unopened Pmags. No point in opening the package, as I don't have the ammo to fill them. :(
CCI rep was replacing some ammo I had problems with. I asked if I could buy another case of mini mags. He said back order was 3 yrs.
Ruger wrangler and S&w shield (NOT the newest one) are still at pre pandemic prices.
Sig Romeo 5 has gone up. Used to go for typical $99, now its $130...
Aks are going for $1500 and up right now. Even the cheapest gun like a hi point has gone up in price.
small gun stores are your best bet i picked up my wasr 2 ak74 for 1300
KR103 you can find for $1199 if you spend some time looking
I am honestly surprised Eric hasn't already ducttaped a flamethrower to an AR...
you mean and filmed it right?
lol
Lots of great, practical info here. I'd love you guys to get into some of your favorite survival manuals and rig essentials. Hopefully things don't get crazy but good to be ready, just in case! What's in your go bags?
ended up getting a securit wall to put all the stuf here up. saved the best for last. i see ur wall got larger xD
I just got an AR loaded out the way I want finally. Night sights and a flashlight with a tape switch. Accessories are available and affordable.
So I like the carrier but for safe life defense setup I like the coverage they give with the soft Armor with added plates to get that rife ratting. what are the benifits of a traditional vest compared to the safelife setup
