You are insane. When you said, you wanted to beat your record, I was expecting another really-thin-layer build. Actually I thought You'd go for a 3x3x81. But this is just rediculous. I love it. I planned similar things but never executed them just because I thought "Hey, a 2m puzzle is kind of difficult to store". But it is amazing that you just did it anyways. I love the modular design. I actually designed a similar mechanism for a modular 2x2xn using magnets a few months ago. I wanted to build a 2x2x24 but canceled that project when you uploaded your 2x2x50. I guess, we just have to accept that you'll always stay the king of twisty puzzles and stop trying to beat your records. Very entertaining video and fun project! Keep up your passion and insanity! ;)

Would it be possible to do this on higher orders (e.g. 3x3xN where N=3+a lot)? What might that cause in terms of parity errors and solve shortcuts?
Great mechanism. I was expecting something like Oskar's 1x2x29, which uses telescopingly nested cones that turn and split in half, like on a 7x7x7.

Awesome build! As a suggestion, could you have added magnets to the sides as well, maybe not to every piece, but even just every few rows? I think that would help keep the whole assembly a bit more together as you got farther away from the core. Still, amazing job!

But the mechanism will only work for 1x2xn,for the 2x2xn or nxnx(n+y) unfortunately no,the pieces will not be able to spin 180 degrees cause 90 degrees are enough to remove a piece from 2x2xn for example.
