Deborah Ann Woll might well have been the most recognizable person in this episode when it first aired, because she had just come off of several years as a pretty significant character in “True Blood.”
@neospock50341 in terms of comic book physics, Matt is “peak human.” But he very clearly performs feats of strength, speed, skill, durability, and athleticism that are well beyond what a real-life human can do. Even in a more toned-down and realistic series like this, he does stuff no human would realistically be able to consistently perform.
@@a_fine_edition2746 Matt isn't quite "peak human" in the comics. He's close, like Falcon, Hawkeye and Shang Chi- an elite athlete who has developed his body through years of rigorous training. But the "peak human" designation was reserved for Captain America and Black Panther, who in the silver-bronze age comics officially were not superhuman. The super-soldier serum and heart-shaped herb just elevated them to the upper limit of human potential (whereas in the MCU they're far beyond that, into legit superhuman territory) I agree that Matt performs feats beyond what real-life humans can do, but so does Batman. I know people agree that this and The Punisher are a "must see", but as a personal opinion, i also recommend to check on Luke Cage (most underrated Marvel's product)
The Noir feel is from the time Frank Miller (300, Sin City) wrote the comic. He introduced Murdock's connection to martial arts. What has always bothered me is Matt gets wrecked regularly in this series. In the comic he's a lot harder to hit, like Spider-Man. I suppose the writers thought it made the series more realistic. 😏 As others have pointed out, his other senses are cranked up to 11. Otherwise he's "just" very good at fighting, as is Black Widow.
I love this series. Some reactors don't get very far. I'm 5 months late to the game here, so I'm hoping that you will continue on, but understand if you don't :) Netflix Marvel series' are MUCH more darker than anything by Marvel or Disney/Marvel puts out. I also hope things are going well for you and starting to settle down a bit :)
When it comes to tv series, this was Marvel's absolute best. The sky was the limit after season 1 of Daredevil. Shame they wasted it, but it was a good run.
@@The_Kiosk I was about to evacuate New Orleans prior to Hurricane Katrina, when this random dog walked up and jumped in my car (Golden?Labrador mix). I already had 2 rescue dogs and said "Oy! Not another one!" but couldn't find the owner and wasn't going to leave him behind, so that is how he got his name.
Don't forget that you can't just to straight to season 2. All the Defenders shows are one story and have to be viewed in release order. Jessica Jones season 1 comes next. The Defenders saga is long and can eat up a reactor's upload schedule, so it's best to not rush through it. But Daredevil isn't getting his own show again until 2024, and it likely won't leave you out of the loop even if you haven't finished the Defenders saga, so there's no hurry.
No, you're not mean for wanting the guy to die. I don't believe the death penalty should be for everyone, but child traffickers are definitely on the list.

Actually, The Punisher is darker than Daredevil, that's all I can say to you in order not to ruin it for you. There's also, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones and Iron Fist. They all come together in The Defenders.
I didn't watch MoM ... considering Doctor Strange was my favorite when I was a kid... I only read 2 comics religiously as a kid Doctor Strange and Iron Fist... and when I heard from sources I trust (and having seen what they were doing with him in other movies) at how they made him a side character in his own movie (and a laughable one at that), I just couldn't bear to watch it. Of course, that's par for the course with phase 4 which is why I've watched so few phase 4 movies/tv shows!
Duaffy I am really happy you chose this series. You will very likely get a huge positive feedback doing this. Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Punisher are all amazing too but daredevil is the best one. Iron Fist is terrible I thought. Some people like it though. I like the character iron fist and the actor did a great job I just became extremely bored watching the series and stopped a few episodes in. He was really good in the defenders series though (watch after all the others).
This show makes MoM look pretty tame in comparison. It does that with all Marvel Studios shows. 1. Key difference Duaffy this show does not take part in the MCU, as specified by Netflix, 2. this show was a three way production style: Marvel Entertainment, ABC and Netflix. Marvel Studios became a separate entity all together because of infighting between Kevin Feige (the boss of Marvel Studios) and Ike Perlmutter (the head of Marvel Entertainment) Marvel Studios at the time was a division from Marvel Entertainment (which was overseen by Feige reporting to Perlmutter) 3. The Daredevil we will see in the MCU will not be this version given that Charlie Cox has said it will be a soft reboot of the character and series (sadly)

thank you Duaffy 😃 i cannot wait till you get to the best season yet (season 2)
The Noir feel is from the time Frank Miller (300, Sin City) wrote the comic. He introduced Murdock's connection to martial arts.
What has always bothered me is Matt gets wrecked regularly in this series. In the comic he's a lot harder to hit, like Spider-Man. I suppose the writers thought it made the series more realistic. 😏
As others have pointed out, his other senses are cranked up to 11. Otherwise he's "just" very good at fighting, as is Black Widow.
Sweety, you can't just say ".....ordinary world," without us breaking into song
I love this series. Some reactors don't get very far. I'm 5 months late to the game here, so I'm hoping that you will continue on, but understand if you don't :)
Netflix Marvel series' are MUCH more darker than anything by Marvel or Disney/Marvel puts out. I also hope things are going well for you and starting to settle down a bit :)
When it comes to tv series, this was Marvel's absolute best. The sky was the limit after season 1 of Daredevil. Shame they wasted it, but it was a good run.
🤣🤣🤣 the way you said oi oi oi was how I say my cat Oy's name. Always in threes or fives and pronounced identically.
You have a cat named Oy?
I had a dog named Oy!
Thought I was the only weirdo
@@notmee2388 nope. It's a girl tabby tiger with the black feet and a ring tail. She has gold eyes as well. Long days and pleasant nights. 🤠
@@notmee2388 I see. Mine was a reference to a Dark Tower character. 🤣
@@notmee2388 yours sounds whovian.
Hope your surgery goes well
Nice. The single greatest Marvel video content ever released. Yes, better than anything MCU...
ok after this, You should watch the Punisher
they connected.
and maybe They will be the part of the mcu later since you know, She hulk

Don't forget that you can't just to straight to season 2. All the Defenders shows are one story and have to be viewed in release order. Jessica Jones season 1 comes next.
The Defenders saga is long and can eat up a reactor's upload schedule, so it's best to not rush through it. But Daredevil isn't getting his own show again until 2024, and it likely won't leave you out of the loop even if you haven't finished the Defenders saga, so there's no hurry.
my question is how are they able to (along with other review channels) show / watch footage from the film without getting a copyright strike?

Please, please watch Rocky horror picture show and Philadelphia
One of my favorite shows, too.
Will you be reacting to Arcane sometime?

You should check out Jessica Jones. Another very dark series. She battles one of the best villains ever.
Agreed.
"Oh, this series is really dark..."
better than MCU , this is if Marvel was directed by Zack Snyder. SO Good
The "netflix" series has better Villains than all of the movies (at least up to End game haven't paid attention after that)
No, you're not mean for wanting the guy to die. I don't believe the death penalty should be for everyone, but child traffickers are definitely on the list.
Despite their flaws, one thing I admire about the Netflix Marvel shows, for the most part, they tried to adapt the characters & storylines as close to the comics as possible, even more than the MCU shows.
I've only seen the first two seasons but this show was doooooope.
I got into Daredevil as a teen with the Romita Jr "The Man Without Fear" miniseries and this show is that to a tee. Law and fighting. Yeah, man.
Yo, you’ve GOTTA watch season 3. It’s possibly better than both of the previous seasons combined.
Bro why left the best season out
@@makkufrost because it did not exist when I had Netflix.
Давай (davaj) means let's. He said "Давай! Давай, быстрее!" Davaj! Davaj, bystree (twice e not i like live, it's e like M'e'ssi, but twice). Let's go! Let's go, faster!

I recommend the anime Made in Abyss.
Please Please Please consider 1939 Good Bye Mr Chips. The benifits of reacting too this film will be noticed.
@Duaffy_. Real Duaffy?
Actually, The Punisher is darker than Daredevil, that's all I can say to you in order not to ruin it for you. There's also, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones and Iron Fist. They all come together in The Defenders.
can't wait for Duaffy to meet the villain
The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles origin was heavily influenced by Daredevil.
You did not watch the other daredevil episodes? :(

Notify me when ya get to season 2 😂
I'm not seeking penance for what I've done father. All I'm asking is forgiveness, for what I am about to do🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
*penance*. But yeah, that was a great line.

What's up cutie, when am I going to get to see your reaction for Creed? I've been awaiting that reaction, since Rocky 3(my favorite Rocky film)!
This show makes MoM look pretty tame in comparison. It does that with all Marvel Studios shows.
1. Key difference Duaffy this show does not take part in the MCU, as specified by Netflix,
2. this show was a three way production style: Marvel Entertainment, ABC and Netflix. Marvel Studios became a separate entity all together because of infighting between Kevin Feige (the boss of Marvel Studios) and Ike Perlmutter (the head of Marvel Entertainment) Marvel Studios at the time was a division from Marvel Entertainment (which was overseen by Feige reporting to Perlmutter)
3. The Daredevil we will see in the MCU will not be this version given that Charlie Cox has said it will be a soft reboot of the character and series (sadly)
